Time has a really funny way of getting away from me lately. Spent a good amount of effort trying to relearn how to draw with a very fine tipped brush. When I was first getting super serious with art I drew with one but moved towards thicker brushes maybe within the past year or 2 but have fallen out of favor with starting my drawings with that aggressive approach.
Most of my effort currently will be towards trying to finish the Nerissa and Laplus drawing since they're really fanning the flames of R18 work on twitter. The Bijou drawing might get reworked since that was started before I got frustrated with thick pens. The Marimari_en and my oc drawing will be tertiary to the Hololive stuff for the time being, but I do want to try and focus on getting more wakipai drawings out relatively soon now that I'm not suffocating under deadlines.
Long time no see! Apologies for the lack of updates, commission work really got everything derailed. Hopefully everything should be back to normal and I can get back to working on stuff that I'm able to post. Currently however I've been thinking about the overall sustainability of doing more detailed paintings. For the time being I've been considering scaling back the fully rendered pieces and instead working on detailed ink drawings with simpler color work. It's a mix of personal fulfilment as well as the time invested into paintings that are pushing me away from the medium. I've always enjoyed inking more and sort of felt as though I do painting work out of expectation rather than pursuing what I want out of my illustrations. In addition to that this piece alone wound up taking around 70ish hours of just painting with clean up and detailing. Not all paintings take that long but it's hard to justify the time commitment currently. So for now I hope you guys enjoy this illustration and are looking forward to some more drawings in the future.
Really behind on work currently due to a desk I ordered breaking within 5 days of use. Here's some drawings I have sitting on the backburner while I desperately play catch up
Some wips I've got cooking. The naizuri one is an old thing I had lying around and might not be worked on more but instead have a different drawing for it since I want to do some proper naizuri at some point. Currently though I have commission work to get through but I'm also unfortunately in a weird spot health wise. Not sure if its just the winter cold or overworking myself but progress is slower than I'd like it to be at the moment
The bulk of my commission work has wrapped up and I wanted to do something with Gigi. Been in a bit of a mood with wakipai stuff the past week or so. Also have a rough animation of Magik from Marvel Rivals sitting around but thats in a weird spot. A part of me thinks I should just finish it and the other part thinks I could just redo the whole thing but better, will see how it goes
Commission work has kept me away from finishing up some of the projects I have sitting on my PC. In the mean time here's some old drawings I've had sitting around for a bit to fill the posting drought
Starting work on a new animation, will probably put the other Hololive succubus drawings on hold since we're getting into November. For this I decided to not worry about blocking everything out in Blender before hand since the movement isn't super complex, just subtle. Hopefully have this done much sooner than the Frieren loop since it's less frames for one and I don't plan on trying to treat the coloring as a painting and instead lean more towards a cel shading. The line work however will be closer to my ink drawings to try and preserve not only my style but to add to the overall heft of the movement. I'm never quite sure what to write for these but a quick summary of my thought process should work
Gonna draw more holo members as succubus. I want to try and have a piece thats completed and a piece thats still a wip that I can have people look forward to
Something I did to advertise commissions. Didn't quite turn out the way I wanted but still turned out alright enough. I've been thinking about going back to Photoshop for painting work since Clip Studios brush engine gets wonky at higher resolutions
Learned a lot about what not to do with a project during this as well as picking up some blender knowledge. Moving forward I'll most likely take a more traditional approach with just line work and cel shading, attempting to paint an animation is a fools errand and added about 60-80 hours to the project
Included is the animation file, an mp4 of the loop, the blender file of the animation breakdown, and 2 gifs of the loops on their own
I'm going though some of my old project files and I'll be uploading some stuff that I started and just never got around to finishing or didn't like how the overall piece looked. For this I think I lost interest in it and feel like I could do something better with my current skill set, which will probably be a theme for a lot of my abandoned projects
Hi hello and thank you for checking out the patreon. I didn't want the landing page to be completely bare as I'm still new to this and figuring things out. I hope to be able to focus on building this up over the next year and creating content that people will enjoy.
