No updates upcoming two weeks (vacation)

Hello all,

There won't be any updates the upcoming two weeks as I will be on a vacation to Italy for two weeks starting this saturday. As my former vacation wasn't that fun as both me as my girlfriend had Corona, we will probably enjoy the next two weeks much more while feeling healthy. :) It probably also helps that we will visit the Northern part of Italy around Lake Garda and end our vacation in Venice, instead of just being at home in The Netherlands.

I will start working on t...

Sneak Peek Images - Small Waterwheel - Original Base + Gutter

To fix the 'problem' with the water vfx falling on top of the small CL waterwheel, I've separated the original support from the world debug house.

This wooden support also comes with a gutter from which water flows down on the waterwheel. Right now this support is just separated from the house and now the most time consuming and difficult part, is adding the vfx of the small waterwheel and the water gutter vfx and line them up with the support and gutter itself. That also means lowering...

Sneak Peek Image - Waterwheel Pack - In-Game Thumbnails so far..

I've finished the thumbnails for all items I made so far for this pack.
To easily find all items I made for this pack in your game whenever it will be released, you can simple type "Waterwheel" into the search bar for every item to pop-up in the search results.

I'm not finished though, so more items will appear eventually. :)

Sneak Peek Images - CL Small Waterwheel Recolor Changes

I've mentioned before that there might be a few recolors of the supports that don't match that well with the colors of the small waterwheel.

In the above images you see 2 wooden recolors I've changed to make them to match better. The left side is how they used to look (the way they still look with the large CL waterwheel with support) and the right side is how I made them look with this small CL waterwheel.

I've left the others the way they already were with the large waterw...

Problems fixed

In my last post I mentioned I found a few new problems with the waterwheels.
These problems have now been fixed.

In the images above you see how the waterwheels with support will look when placed against a wall on the grid.
The first image shows a waterwheel which is placed using the ALT-key for free placement. In that case, the whole support on the wall side is still visible.
When placing the waterwheel against a wall using the grid, a large part of the waterwheel will disa...

Found new problems...😩

I've found a few new problems with all waterwheels.. Each time I think everything works as it should new things pop-up. So the things I need to fix first now:

Placing Against Walls
I just noticed that all supported versions aren't placeable against walls unless you use the MOO-cheat or the ALT-key for free placement. So I'm going to add the ability for all supported versions, to place them through walls, fences and foundations.

I'm not going to make them...

Sneak Peek Images - CL Waterwheel Small + Support (+waterfall)

Supported Small Waterwheel version
Now the small waterwheel also has a supported version! As there are no strange big holes on the other side of the waterwheel (which was the case with the large waterwheel), I was able to add the supports to both sides of the waterwheel.

Waterfall on Waterwheel
On the second image I placed my small waterfall on top of the waterwheel so the splashing water on top makes sense. So this is one way of fixing the spalsh...

Sneak Peek Image - CL Waterwheel Small

Small Waterwheel
A sneak peek on the final waterwheel of this pack, the Cottage Living Small Waterwheel. As can be seen in the image above, I already made it placeable on water surfaces. I've also made it able to produce power, just like the others and changed it's footprint so Sims will swim around the object instead of straight through it. This version can be used with (short) walls on one side or both sides or platforms.

Sneak Peek Image - CL Waterwheel Lrg + Short walls (And more info)

CL Waterwheel Large + Short wall
Finaly worked on the Waterwheel pack again today.
About the image above, as it's been a while since I've worked on this pack, I decided to first try to create a nice example of how the large Cottage Living waterwheel can be used together with short walls. Just as with the GT waterwheel you can also use normal walls or platforms of course when not using the waterwheel with attached support.

Fixed the GT Waterwheel when place...

New Banners on my Socials!

Hello all,

I've finished replacing my banners accross my socials with new ones! Not all look exactly the same as each social media platform uses a different banner size. Therefore some animals might pop-up in another place on the banner when looking somewhere else. :)

I hope you like it just as much as I do. I think it better fits both the content I make for The Sims 4 as well as myself as a person, as I'm a big nature and animal lover.

If you're curious at all banners as we...

New Tumblr Banner (Not on YouTube yet)

Hello all,
I just finished the banner which I wanted to place on Tumblr and YouTube, but I just found out it's too small for on YouTube... :(
So I need to find out the right size and then try to recreate this one more or less.

But it's already replaced on Tumblr right now which can be seen here:

Sneak Peek Image - WIP New Banner YouTube/Tumblr

Just a small sneak peek at the new banner I'm working on right now which is going to be used on YouTube and Tumblr. The banners here on Patreon and Twitter use different sizes, so they will be a bit different then the others.

I think this now fits myself and the CC I make already more then the banner I'm using right now on my socials. Though it's far from finished of course. But it's more nature-ish instead of..what it was before.

I also discovered that my Patreon banner right d...

EA's modding policy - What I'm going to change

Hello all,

Some time ago during my Covid-illness, EA updated their modding policy and while the biggest part of it was about early access (Which I barely offer here on Patreon), a small part was also about what can and can't be used while promoting your mods.

"Do not promote your Mods in a way that suggests they are endorsed by or affiliated with The Sims, Maxis, or Electronic Arts. This means you cannot use any game logos or trademarks, including versions of the plumbob, ...

Small update on the Covid thingy

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know, that's I'm not feeling that well yet. I have a soar throat for days now and I'm very low on energy (probably also as sleeping isn't going that well). This makes that I haven't worked and won't be working on the waterwheel pack the upcoming week neither probably.

Luckely my girlfriend is feeling a lot better already, so she can take care of me when ever it's needed. ;)

I will definitely let you know when I'm feeling better again as I reall...

My girlfriend finished the Walk Of The World, but...

Last week my girlfriend walked the Walk of the World for the first time, here in The Netherlands. Normally this means walking 40km each day for 4 days long. As there was a heatwave though, only 3 days were left.

I'm very happy and proud to be able to share that she finished it and brought a medal back home for doing so.

Unfortunately that wasn't the only thing she took home with her as we're both having Covid now 😅 So instead of both having a week off to do fun things, we both...

Another week with barely updates. I'm sorry. :(

Hello everyone,

Walk of the World
This week will be another week with barely updates unfortunately (except from the one I shared earlier today).
The reason is because my girlfriend will be walking 'The Walk of the World' here in The Netherlands, which normally means 4 days in a row walking 30, 40 or 50 km a day. She will be walking the 40km a day.

As this tuesday on the starting day it will be 30/40 degrees celcius here though, that walking-day has been dele...

Sneak Peek Images - New Rusty Steel Support

Instead of making the dark concrete look lighter, I've changed it into a rusty steel look. It's the same texture as where the axle in the middle is made of. So it still looks very dark, but at least it matches the steel in the middle now. :)

Sneak Peek Image - New Wood Supports

Wooden Recolors
From the the three wooden supports I made for the GT waterwheel, I changed the first 2 to make them better match with this large CL waterwheel.

For the first one I borrowed the texture of the waterwheel itself to make it a very matching support for the waterwheel. I'm very happy with this end result. :)

For the second one I tried to make the color of the wood to match as best as possible to the rest of the waterwheel. It isn't perfect, but certa...

Sneak Peek Images - CL Large Waterwheel + Support

The other thing I've worked on today was adding the same kind of support to this larger waterwheel as I've added to the smaller one from the Get Together EP.

I've first tried adding the support to both sides, but as the other side of the waterwheel has this enormous hole in it (which also couldn't be hidden with the Axle-Hole replacement) and it can't be hidden with a support, I've decided to only add a support on the front side. In most cases this isn't that bad as you're probably plac...

Sneak Peek Images - CL Large Waterwheel

Sorry for the delay, but finally had some time to work on the waterwheels again today. :)

Cottage Living Waterwheel - Large
In the image above you see the large waterwheel that came with the Cottage Living expansion pack. Other then with the Debug large waterwheel, this one is already raised to the right height and is placeable on all water surfaces. When placed on pool water, Sims will automaticaly swim around the waterwheel instead of straight through the object. View Post

Sneak Peek Images - GT Waterwheel + Custom Supports

First of all, when looking at the example builds above, don't look at their surroundings. Especially not for the second one as I build them on a lot in New Crest.

I wanted to make two simple examples for making custom supports with platforms as well as making it from short walls. Like always though, I couldn't stop making it perfect also looking at the environment around the waterwheels..

First Image
Anyway, in the first image you see a waterwheel for which I ...

Sneak Peek Image - GT Waterwheel - No Support

So now that I finished the textures for the supported version of the GT waterwheel last week, I thought it would be good to also make one without the supports, so you can make your own. Therefore I tried simply cloning the supported version and deleting the supports, but that didn't work unfortunately because of some trouble with the object meshes. So I had to make it from scratch and copy everything over except for the supports. Took a bit more time then planned..

About making your own...

Sneak Peek Images - Waterwheel Suport -Natural Stone Recolors

So here are the ones that took me the longest to make. The problem with most of these, was that the edges would look strange with stones not lining up. So I've added some cement to the edges to make it look less disturbing.

It might look a bit strange in combination with the walls I used on the building behind the waterwheel, but imagine those walls being made out of wood, then the natural stones look way better.

For the last recolor I've used the Jungle Adventures mossy temple wa...

Sneak Peek Images - Waterwheel Suport - Wood Recolors

So here are the wood recolors I made. Besides the first wooden texture, I've tried to make two recolors of that same wood with a different color tone. The one on the second screenshot should be looking quite the same color as the waterwheel does and the other one just a bit lighter so you can choose for yourself what you think looks best.

Sneak Peek Images - Waterwheel Suport - Concrete Recolors

Spend quite some time on creating the support recolors today. Besides making the wood recolors and natural stones recolors, I also decided to recolor the concrete look.

In my opinion especially the second recolor looks even better then the first whiter one. Although I think people will also like to use the darker concrete look.

The wood and natural stone recolors will be shared in separate posts, so it's easier for you to comment on what you think about all recolors. :)

Tomorrow "Possible new waterwheel textures - 2"

Just wanted to let you know I've been working on changing the textures I shared before, but I'm not quite happy with it yet. Also I want to add some stone textures before sharing the results.

As for the Concrete texture, I'm trying if I can make a recolor of that one too.
For the first wood recolor of the former post I made multiple new recolors, but I'm planning to only use 1 or 2 of them. Whether or not I keep the one from the former post depends on what you think about it.

Sneak Peek Images - Possible New Textures 1

New Concrete Look
Icemunmun finished the new UV-map, so today I could play a bit with new textures. Something I didn't thought about, was that because of the new UV-map, the old concrete look changed it's appereance on the object too. In a bad way unfortunately, so I decided to make an entirely new concrete look.

The first screenshot shows how it was with the old UV-map and old concrete texture, which looks a bit flat because of the solid gray color on the largest pa...

Sneak Peek Images - GT Waterwheel - Extra VFX

Hello all,

Finally found some time to work on the waterwheel again. This sneak peek is all about the extra vfx I've added to the GT waterwheel, so it looks better when placed on the water surface.

Default VFX
When looking at the first screenshot, you will see how the waterwheel looked with it's default vfx. Like can be seen, there was only some water falling off of the waterwheel, but no vfx  of where the falling water hits the water surface or other vfx a...

New posts possibly this weekend + 320 new vfx codes

Hello all,

I'm back from my vacation, but had an incredibly busy week which gave me no room to work on the waterwheels pack unfortunately. I didn't even had time to look at my photos I made during the past week, so I guess I wil do that first. I hope to be able to work a bit more on the mod pack this weekend, so I can also share some updates/sneak peeks with you again.

As today launched the Werewolves pack and the vfx list has been updated too, I just extracted 320 new vfx codes t...

No posts upcoming week

Hello all,

As I will be on a vacation for the upcoming week, there won't be any new posts.

My next update about the waterwheels will probably be about extra vfx added to the GT waterwheel as it only has some water drops falling of the waterwheel, but no vfx where those drops hit the water. I also want to add some sort of vfx where the waterwheel hits the water while rotating, just as with the Cottage Living waterwheels that already have these kind of vfx.

I already have a f...
