Starting the second half of my 2018 in Review posts with the beautiful and talented Zoe West. Zoe lives in New York state, but spends a little time in Moab. We shot together in August on the Oregon Coast and set up this rendezvous in Moab. She's another of those models where you know you are going to get some great photos.
So this set contains my photos from the last half of 2018. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy taking them for you. &nbs...

Britt and I have worked together in studio before but never outdoors. She and I shot this in Moab during the only sunny day I had while I was there.

Kellie and Ashlynn had just met one another and became fast friends. They work so well together that you wouldn't know they haven't known each other. This was also shot in Moab during the cold, wet, rainy season.

Ziva and I have worked together a few times in the past, but never outdoors. We shot this in Moab, Utah. Her and I have a shoot scheduled for the first of March 2019 and I'm looking forward to shooting with her again. She's just getting into photography and is pretty good at it. She also mentors models. As you can tell it was a little rainy and chilly during this shoot but Ziva was a real trooper.

This is the first time Madison and I have shot together, and it was one of those shoots that just click. We got so many great photos out of the session. Madison was having trouble selecting her favorites. She hadn't shot much outdoor stuff and was looking to add to her portfolio. That's a shame because she works so well in the desert. She was a month away from turning 21 in this photo.

Ashlee and I hadn't shot together in several years. She rooms with a friend of mine who works in New York and recommended we pick up again. They share a place in Las Vegas. Ashlee is a great model who works between Las Vegas and California. We're both big Golden Knights hockey fans. I plan on shooting with her more this year when our schedules will allow.

My year wouldn't be complete without shooting this very beautiful woman and great friend. She's just getting back into modeling after having her first child. She was coming through on her first road trip after having the baby and was on her way to Utah and California for some shoots. She stayed with us, and we took the opportunity to shoot a couple of hours at sunset.

Freshie advertises herself as an alternative, plus sized, model. She states in her bio that if you want a stick thin model then she's not for you. I wanted to see how we would do in the desert. She is heavily tattooed as you can see, which I don't shy away from. She also has several piercings, which I don't particularly like, but we got along just fine and created some great photos. She is a very talented model and actress.

I've shot with Jessica and Ashlee separately over the years, and the first time I shot them was in a studio and they were together. Ashlee and I had done a shoot a couple of weeks prior to this session and Ashlee said she could get Jessica to join us if I wished. What could I say? They are besties and work well together. It was a little chilly this day but the two of them persevered and we came away with some great stuff.

What can I say? Floofie and Merrique together are the best combination a photographer could hope for. Merrique and I had planned a shoot last year but kept postponing it. I met up with her and Floofie in Oregon, and the three of us settled on a shoot for the beginniing of November. I always enjoying shooting with these two. They work so well together. This is an abandoned ghost town I found a couple of years ago. Many of the structures have been torch...

Vivian is a new model whom I haven't shot with. She came and stayed with us in Nevada and she and I shot for a day in the desert. This was a new location I found out by Lake Mead. It's small geographically but has some interesting rock formations. I hope to shoot with Vivian again.

Verronica is next up. We shot this set in the middle of November in Redstone. I love the contrast of the red rock, Verronica's skin tones and the blue sky. It just works.

This is the last photo of this set. Marie and I shot the last week in November at the dry lake bed to conclude my year of photographing beautiful and talented women. I hope you have enjoyed these photos and the women who I collaborated with to provide them for you. I already have a few shoots scheduled for 2019 so stay tuned.
I really appreciate your support and pledges and wish you all a happy and prosperous new year. I'm traveling a bit in January and don...

Another photo of Inna taken this last year. She really enjoys shooting in the desert, and the desert really enjoys her. We were dodging a few hikers during the shoot, but that didn't seem to bother her.

Inna and I always create some wonderful photos which I don't process in a very timely basis. Actually, I don't process many at all until the next time we're booked together. Color me silly. She models for the fun of it and is deathly afraid of snakes, bears, and such. When we shot in Wyoming, I had to bring the dog along because she would protect us from bears ;-), at least that's what Inna thought. When we shoot in the desert, Inna throws a rock into every hole,...

Vivian is a professional dancer and we spent the day shooting in the southern Nevada desert. I've said many times that we didn't get a bad shot over the entire day.

A couple of posts for my $5+ patrons from my latest shoot with Verronica. She and I spent a couple of hours out at Redstone Dunes shooting in late-November. We hadn't shot together for a couple of years, and I'm glad I got the opportunity to shoot with her again. She questions her beauty quite a lot, but I don't think there's a thing wrong with her.

There was a drone flying overhead as we shot here. I captured it in one of my videos of the shoot. Verronica heard it and kept saying that it was close.

More of the shoot I had with Marie. This was toward the end of the shoot, actually about 10 minutes before we stopped shooting. It had turned really chilly and Marie had just gotten warm with the seat warmers in the truck. We hopped out and shot another 20 photos before calling it a day.

A bonus post for my $5 patrons. Thanks for following me and I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas. There will be a few more posts before Christmas, but the time is growing short. Another from the ExplOregon Adventure Tour. The lava was a bit rough on the models, but they didn't show it.

Verronica and I shot this while on an ExplOregon Adventure hosted by Floofie and Jordan. I didn't get as many of Verronica as I would have liked, but you have to share with the other photogs :-)) You've seen the more recent photos from our latest shoot, and this one was taken a couple of years ago.

Another of this beautiful and talented woman just because I can. :-)) If you haven't guessed, the rocks were a little uncomfortable being lava and all. Jin persevered, and I snapped away. It was really windy on this day and we spent a good deal of time figuring out where we could get out of the wind. I tried using my reflector and had it blowing across the prairie more than once. The other fun fact that I'll leave you with is that this location is right on the...

We shot this a little over a year ago in the Craters of the Moon National Monument in Idaho. I was walking in front of Jin as we were walking out to this spot. Suddenly she shrieked and yelled that I had just walked over a rattlesnake. It made for an interesting rest of the day as we walked from spot to spot. The snake in the mean time had slithered off to harass it's next victim :-) The hazards of being a nude in nature photographer, but the benefits outweigh the h...

Merrique, Floofie, and I had a blast out shooting for the day. This was taken in November and the weather, for once, cooperated with us. I love shooting with these two, together or separately. They pose so well together. Of course it doesn't hurt they're best friends. This set was taken in Redstone, but there were a couple of other locations we visited this day. I'm running out of locations. :-)

Vivian and I talked about her posing while we were driving to the location. She prefers edgier, more expressive poses, versus the soft fine art poses you typically see. I explained that I don't really have a preference. I shoot the more edgier stuff and the closer to fine art photos in desert settings. I really prefer to see what the model is comfortable with. I think both types of poses work well. When I direct a model, I'm directing the big picture, how she ...

Sierra stopped by on her way through to some modeling gigs and we had an opportunity to go out and shoot some. L was being a real pill, but he's a cutie. You can see the real love between mom and son in this one. I really enjoy shooting photos while he's nursing. Sierra always gets such a joyful and loving look on her face.

This was taken during a shoot back in March when Jamie was in Las Vegas. She was another of the "new to me" models. Her and I spent the day shooting out at Redstone and got some really great photos. I've been remiss in not processing or posting them. She picked several that she really liked, but this wasn't one of them. :-)

Another from this set. Dasha didn't like very many of them, but i think we did very well under the conditions. We weren't really trying to get a shoot in. We were scouting locations.

This is a 4 photo post taken along the Lake Mead shoreline. Dasha and I had set up a group photo workshop and were scouting locations. We didn't choose this location since the sun angle would have made it problematic to shoot in. Nonetheless, it provided a few good photo opportunities for us. Dmitiry was running the reflector but the lack of sun wasn't helping any. Nor was the lack of sun making for a happy model. We called it a day because of the cool weather...

The black and white conversion of the last photo. I think this makes it a little more dramatic. I swear Dasha is the incarnate of Brigitte Bardot.
