2017 in Review

Emmy.   She and I met at the Arizona Shootout but didn't have a chance to shoot together.  She was making a final modelling trip through the southwest and she and I hooked up to shoot.  She was sick and I was having camera issues, but I think you'll agree we got some great photos.  Emmy has since retired from modeling art nudes.

Sekaa contacted me .  She was traveling through the area and wanted to know if I was available to shoot.  We ended up spending the day in an area where she was camped just outside of Mesquite.  She later told me it was her first solo camping experience.  She is a true artist.

Meet Jessica.  Jessica was just starting to model and her and I went to one of my favorite locations to shoot.  The weather was finally cooperative.  Jessica was a joy to shoot with.  This is one of the few shots I got of her "mom breasts" as she calls them on this day.  I worked with her several more times during the year, and she got more comfortable with her body as they ear rolled on.

I shot with Nikki in an abandoned housing development just outside of Mesquite.  She's quite tall and an athlete.  She played basketball in college.  I don't know what it is with my luck, but this was also a cold blustery day in Nevada.  We even called the shoot short because it was simply too cold.

I signed up for a lighting workshop and as it turned out, I was the only person to show.  I met Fae, and we shot for a couple of hours at Photo Bang Bang, a local studio in Las Vegas.  She's local to Las Vegas and her and I will definitely shoot together again.

Brennan....what can you say about her?  She's funny in a Brennan sort of way, intelligent, and very beautiful.  She started the year off pretty crazy, but it ended up a great year.

Ahlisha is a really good friend and one of the models I love to work with.  She came and stayed at our house in Nevada for a visit, and her and I made it out to the desert to shoot.  She had just found out she was pregnant.

My next shoot was with the lovely Brittany whom I met while she was shooting with another photographer and I was shooting with a different model.  This was taken a couple of weeks after my shoot with Inna and it was still a bit cold for outdoor shoots.  I really like topless in jeans shots.  They're one of my favorites.

I started 2017 with the beautiful Inna B-G who originally hails from Moscow, but now lives in New York.  We set this shoot up in late 2016 and thought it would be a little warmer at the end of January.  Inna was a trooper though and we spent the entire day outside.  Even though it looks warm, it was in the low 50's with a wind.

I call this my "Where's Floofie" photo :-).  She blends into her surroundings so well.  I really like shooting her from the rear by the way.  I guess I'm just a butt man at heart.

Her hair has certainly gotten a lot longer since we first met.  The first photo I saw of her, she had a page boy hairdo.  She still has a wig where she can simulate that hair.

For as many times as we've shot together, I never have gotten tired of shooting with this woman.  She always manages to bring life to the shoot.  I already have a shoot set up with her in September of next year, provided she's not pregnant.  Her and her husband want to start a family.

These along with the previously published photos were all taken in the Gold Butte National Monument in Nevada.  It has been one of my favorite locations to shoot because of the rock structures but is getting more crowded since being designated a National Monument.  And I expect eventually it will go the way of numerous other national set-asides with limited access and costly fees to shoot in the area.

So those of you that have followed me for a long time Know that Kira and I go way back in my attempts to shoot models.  She's one of the best art nude models in the business, and one of the first models I hired.  I always like to say I started with the best.  She and I have become good friends over the years, and I just love shooting with this woman.  She introduced me to many of the models you see on this stream.  So she was fetching and moving a friend's car to Portlan...

The End

At the end of a long day of shooting, the ladies mug for the camera.  From left to right Ziva, Lanei, Kenna, and of course Britt is underneath Kenna's skirt. :-)  I don't always shoot art nudes.  Sometimes you just have to have some fun and let the session get away from you :-0

Britt is from Chicago and does a little bit of everything including being an EMT.  I would let her lift me into an ambulance anytime. :-)  She also appears on Naked News.  Those EMT's are wild and crazy kids.  She'll be back in Nevada in April.  We're also talking about shooting in the desert.

I really like shooting the reflection.  Lanei is from Las Vegas and we're already making plans for a desert shoot in the spring.

The Women

BTS look at three of the lovely ladies I had the opportunity to photograph.  From left to right Ziva, Lanei, and Britt.  Ziva is from Phoenix. Lanei is local to Las Vegas, and Britt is from the Chicago area. Not pictured are Kenna and Grace.

Ziva

This past weekend I shot with a group of very talented and beautiful ladies at a suite in the Luxor Resort in Las Vegas.  The first day we concentrated on glamour, and the second day we focused on art nudes.  This was taken on the second day with Ziva Fey, a model from Phoenix, Arizona.  Ziva is a joy to shoot with, and I think you'll agree, a very beautiful lady.

This is my favorite photo in this short set.  It conveys an almost voyeuristic image.  The viewer hiking through the desert and happening on a beautiful woman sunning herself.  He snaps a quick photo of her through the bushes.  There's a lot more of these to come.  Thanks as always for supporting my efforts.

We spent a long time in this spot because of the texture of the rock and the curves in the color.  Sekaa tried to pose with those curves whenever possible.  Yes that's her real hair BTW.  I asked her if she had it cut, to which she replied yes about every 6 to 9 months.  She braids it at night for those of you wondering how she manages the tangles.

She was spending the night with my wife and I prior to the shoot and traveling through Las Vegas to get here.  She called and said that she had encountered some unexpected traffic and would be a little later than originally expected.  As it turns out she was in a traffic delay caused by an accident involving my son on I-15 in Vegas.  He got a ride to the hospital in an ambulance.  He's alright BTW.  The accident involved a traffic slowdown caused by the dedication and gr...

I usually don't do this but this is just a different crop of the prior post.  I like the way the textures in the rock curve around Sekaa.  BTW she's a photographer as well, and we would look at the back of my camera and redo shots that we thought weren't working or needed a different perspective.  We really slayed it this day.  We spent the entire day in an area not longer than 30 feet and got some great shots.

Sekaa was traveling through the area and contacted me and asked if I would like to do another shoot.  We had shot together about 8 months ago.  She was making a short modeling trip around the southwest before going home for Thanksgiving.  Anyway I told her I would love to do another shoot with her and these are some of the results.

One last bonus photo for now.  Some of you have seen the rear view of this photo on Flickr, but I thought I'd post the front view here.  I love how the shadows paint Kira's torso and make it look like she's almost wearing clothes.
