This was another request from you guys! Stoked to have a few Ghibli tunes up here on Patreon now. This song has a very catchy melody that I think any Ghibli fan will recognize. It was super fun to translate to the guitar, too.

This was a request from Megan S. ! I really liked this version of the track they chose - it is really suited to the guitar and has some really pretty movement. Looking back on Scarlet and Violet, there was some really great music tracks - my favorite Pokemon composer is Hitomi Sato so it was a pleasant surprise to see they wrote this. Enjoy!

Anyone else see the new trailer? I was planning an arrangement for Lumiose City, and then by sheer happenstance, they played a really cool new version of Lumiose City which has more of a jazzy swing feel. I instantly pivoted, haha.
I'm super excited for these games (as a Chikorita and Tepig fan). Hoping we get more great tracks like this from it!

This is a little bit of a deep cut! I think by the numbers black/white 2 was one of the least played pokemon games. I've always really liked this song though, and I think as far as town themes from B/W go, it's actually pretty popular!
I have been playing this one so much for fun on my own, the arrangement basically wrote itself. If anyone on here likes Pat Metheny, I tried to model it like it's on the album "What's It All About". Enjoy!

To make it authentic to the original song, I tuned the guitar down a half step, but you could definitley just keep it in standard tuning, read the tabs as-is, and just play it in the key of C as opposed to B. Enjoy!

Some more Diamond/Pearl/Platinum love! This is a great song, and in my opinion one of the most iconic dppt town themes. It's a lot more jazz-adjacent than earlier gen town themes, and that comes through in the swing feel and chord movement. I also enjoy that it uses the full range of the guitar.
I'm also a fan of the Jubilife theme from Legends: Arceus. Maybe we'll do that one at some point too if it's something ya'll want. enjoy!

This song in particular has a lot of open space, so it's fun to get creative on how to fill it in. If any of you have ever checked out the "Piano Collections" Final Fantasy albums, I drew some inspiration from the Aerith's Theme on it.

This was requested & commissioned by Liz S. I always really enjoy transcribing songs that are originally written for voice - I feel it often leads to very interesting guitar arrangements. This song is based on a lot of common root position chords, which I think gives it a nostalgic feel. It was fun to familiarize myself with it & the show it's from!

Continuing on with our tour of every Pokemon surf theme! Next up is Gen 4. Hitomi Sato is probably my favorite composer who works on Pokemon, and a lot of my favorite qualities of their work come through in this piece. You can tell even comparing this song from the other surf themes - it's easy to listen to, melodic, but has a lot of underlying sophistication and complexity that makes it a real treat to listen to and learn. Another iconic route theme! This is essentially the "route 1" or pokemon GSC. For me personally, this is probably the route theme I've heard more than anything else in the game. I took a little inspiration from the HeartGold and SoulSilver version of the song, which has some really pretty fermatas. Enjoy!

More Diamond/Pearl tunes! this is probably a top 3 Pokemon town theme of all time for me. It's super catchy, especially the B section. There's a lot of chord shapes that will be familiar to guitarists of all levels, but because of some tricky jumps, rhythms, and barres, I'd classify this as a more intermediate-advanced arrangement. That being said it's very approachable if you go through it slowly - enjoy!

A while ago I asked about some of the most iconic route themes that you'd all like to see, and this was close to the top of the list. I guess it makes sense - not only is it iconic it's also a realy earworm. It almost sounds like a classical study, too. A song any pokemon fan would recognize!

I really wanted to arrange a "winter-y" song, and this song has always stood out to me. It's in 6/8 and has really pretty bassline movement. When you hear it, you'll probably think of a lot of other songs that it sounds similar - it's one of those songs that really doesn't sound like it's from a video game at all.

Postwick Town! I actually wrote this way back when I started my YouTube channel. I happened to hear the original postwitck other day, and got the idea to go through it and modernize my arrangement to make some parts closer to the original song in the game (and more beginner friendly!)
This song has some really pretty movement that really sounds great on nylon (or steel string!) guitar. I also put some more details to make it closer to the tutorial that will be going up on youtube today...
This is one of those songs that has sort of transcended the original medium where it's from. I hear it everywhere, especially all over youtube shorts, tiktok, etc. It's a pretty piece that's actually featured in both Black/White and X & Y. It also uses the whole range of the guitar, which is always a blast.
It's a simple song, but a few of the stretches can be a tad tricky at first. Enjoy!
