The 4 scenes of the princess are now done. Above you can see just a small teaser of what they may entail but some of them will surprise you when you see them in action. Each scene has an internal view and two of those scenes actually have double internal shoots so there's a lot of action going on. Work on the new stage (the dungeon) is completed, as well as the new boss battle. The princess is a bit different from all of the current bosses because not only she is a flying type, she also only uses indirect attacks and therefore will require a different strategy to be defeated.

Hello again!
Work is going well for the new stage, which will be the dungeons underneath the castle. It will have a couple of new tricks up its sleeve (much like the upper floors had), so please expect some challenging gameplay trying to navigate it.
In fact, those castle stages are going to be placed near the end of the game anyways (in terms of story progression) so it's fine that they are both more challenging than the usual stages.

This gal will have 2 methods of attack: a kick with her hind legs and a charge attack with the spear. You better help Maya dodge that charging move because otherwise she'll be in for a wild ride, if you catch my drift.
Her clothing ended up being pretty basic and "tribal", but in the way I'm setting up her in the new castle stage, it'll make sense why she's there once you play it. The original name of the new stage was "Hallways of Illusion", but I changed it to "Hallways of Insanity"....

I'm happy to say that the new stage is completed! But to be honest I'm unsure how it will be received because I may have gone a bit over-the-top with it.
I don't want to spoil the twist because then it would be ruined, but the gist is that this entire area of the castle is locked and to progress into the top floor (where the entrance to the boss arena is located) Maya will have to open those 4 gates that you can see above, by activating their respective switches.

For the upcoming update, I'm going back to the castle and updating that area.
As you can see in the 1st image, there is now another floor above the witch's shop that will contain a library and other rooms, as well as a locked door that will lead to the upper floors of the castle.

Hello everyone!
I've finally finished work on the boss fight and I've reached a point where I'm satisfied with the results. Seems like boss fights will always take more time to implement as I have to code their unique attack patterns and behaviors from scratch, unlike with the common enemies where I already have a base framework that I can reuse for new ones and then just make minor adjustments to create unique behaviors.

I've been working on making all of the necessary basic animations for the upcoming boss; things like idle, walking, attacking, defending, jumping, etc. There's a couple other animations that I need to finish, mostly for his special attacks which I won't spoil just yet. The minotaur boss will be some kind of general or high ranking official in the monster city, and this is the arena where the fight against him will happen.
It is located next to the monster city, accessed after reaching the rightmost part of the market street (I've already finished touching up that area for the next version).

* Facilitated movement from the swamp area to access the new gardens area, by opening the gate at the end of the ruins.

Hello again everyone!
I wanted to release a small version update of MKM about now, but gave it some thought and decided to do the normal release instead (closer to the end of the month), because I want to add more stuff and make the content more meaty, in a manner of speaking.
The tentacle enemy is completed and it's design is that of a sinister dead tree which hosts an unknown creature inside. The ero scene became one among my personal favorites so I hope you'll enjoy it as well...

Originally when Maya exits the underground stages I planned to transition into making the marble gardens/mausoleum area, but while working on them I realized that it's now "night" in-game.

Work on the werewolf boss is moving along well. As always, by far the thing that takes the most amount of time for me to produce are the drawings and animations, but I'll keep moving forward one pixel at a time :-)
