w00ha! We got ourselves another trilogy, folks! The final book in the TIOS series is completed, and the book is off for review at Amazon. It usually takes around 24-36 hours, though they say it could be up to 72. Regardless, as soon as it's up, I'll let y'all know where you can find it. I got a handful of messages and comments about the former tentative title, and decided I really wanted something else for a bunch of reasons. So now, we have... *drum roll*

2019-07-06 22:16:04 +0000 UTC View PostAll righty, cats and kitties, we have ourselves a novel! The first draft was completed this very morning and I think I'm pretty happy with how the conclusion/wrap-up turned out. We now have a title for the book: Forever Northside, and I think the cover art will be along the lines of the previous two. The final word count has come out to a grand total of 122051 words (so far; my editing always adds more, and I have a few minor additions to make). Thus, it should be pretty close to the length o...
2019-06-26 00:39:48 +0000 UTC View PostWhew! OK, so let me say up front, my intention is *not* to be political, and while the title is certainly a political buzzword in modern American politics, I don't think this story does anything to take a stand. Still, if you're easily agitated or triggered, feel free to sit this one out and I promise the next one will be disclaimer-free. :)
That said, this piece is about a young white girl whose rich dad, upon learning his ancestors had enslaved people, decided to make amends by giving...
2019-06-17 17:47:59 +0000 UTC View PostHowdy folks! Thanks for your patience while I've been living and thriving and struggling and all that with life the past few weeks. I had my yearly "week o' D&D" get-together with some friends, and have also done a bit of soul-searching and adjusting.
First off, and most fun, here's a really stupid little story I threw together over the past couple days. I swear, I very rarely indulge in any impulse to use real people in my work, but this time, I couldn't help but break down. It sta...
2019-06-14 18:16:27 +0000 UTC View PostPretty and proofread for ya. I updated the original post with the new files, but wanted to make sure folks got the notification if they were waiting on the final. More to come!
2019-05-15 10:29:49 +0000 UTC View PostI'm alive! I'm so sorry it took me so long to post anything, but I wanted to wait until I had something fun to share by way of apology for my long silence. About two weeks back I discovered that I had inherited something else exciting from my father, a case of gout! Gout is a severe form of arthritis that can be dormant for months or years at a time, but when it flares up, can be really debilitating. Uric acid builds up in the extremities, usually a foot, and then it hardens into crystals whi...
2019-05-10 10:04:55 +0000 UTC View PostSo I'm back in the realm of getting to write my own fan fic! This time around in revisionist histories, we get back to our core cast and focus on none other than Kristiana Coszic-Lewandoski, a.k.a. Miss C. After whetting his appetite for teacher flesh on the sub Miss Galvin in the previous installment, he moves on up to his fellow full-time faculty member. So without further ado, enjoy!

I am back! My vacation was fantastic, and I say that even though through the course of it I had an ulcer, a migraine, a cold, sun poisoning, and a car wreck. (I'm OK, car survived, poor animal who darted in front of me not so much. :( ) Still, I saw some really amazing sights through the central and southwest U.S., and got to enjoy the freedom of just going wherever whenever without foreplanning or encumbrance. I went whale watching, saw national parks like the Grand Canyon (above), Devil's T...
2019-04-14 08:05:22 +0000 UTC View PostThis story is set back in the early to mid 80's, but that's not when I mean when I say there's history. This story was for the winner of July 2018's monthly drawing, and through a combination of delays, pondering, and plain old bad communication, it is just now completed. A round of applause for the nice guy who didn't whack me with a tire iron for taking so long with this, and I can only hope he's enjoyed it.
As for me, by the time this post goes live, I will be on my whirlwind tour of...
2019-03-30 05:00:01 +0000 UTC View PostWhen I was a (much) younger man, I used to want to get into ministry. It was a passing phase, thank goodness, and I abandoned the idea long before it took root, but between my own Lutheran roots and my years working for a Catholic college, I've been around a lot of religious people. Not to criticize anybody's religion, of course -- you'd need a few more drinks in me before I'd go opening up that can of worms. But suffice to say, when your campus has a chlamydia epidemic and Father Tim is insi...
2019-03-16 06:29:01 +0000 UTC View PostA long time back, I started, but never got very far with, a story called Mod World. I play enough PC video games that I fiddle around with the occasional mod for them, and it won't shock you to learn I'm prone to rendering the women in my game world prettier and rounder.
This story is told from the point of view of the protagonist of such a game, trying to adjust on the fly to the mods that are thrown their way. It's a little bit satirical, and it probably helps if you have any in...
2019-03-05 09:47:41 +0000 UTC View PostHere's a new one folks. The commissioner had some ideas for how they wanted it to go, but left the mechanism for the control, by and large up to me, with only a few caveats. I got to thinking about it, and I remembered Neighbors From Back When, and how there had been a lot of valid criticism that the mechanism was really good, but spent too little focus on exploring the what-then. While this isn't quite the same, it operates on a similar premise, and I think the whole wind-up-and-release styl...
2019-03-01 06:00:00 +0000 UTC View PostSo this was a wild and different kind of experience. Some people I know basically only read fan fic these days, but it's not a genre I've ever really gotten into. Then lo and behold, along comes someone to request some. Ergo, here you have Sub Notes, set in the This Is Our Story universe, writing fan fic for my own fic. :D
There wasn't a satisfactory way to make it part of the canon without mussing up some story details that pertain to the main series, but it's still a fun little aside ...
2019-02-25 05:59:00 +0000 UTC View PostMan, I feel like an insurance agent, writing that. Anyway, to get a little firmer feedback, here's a quick poll on what you'd like to see happen with what may (or may not?) be a slightly smaller volume of commissions. Mostly looking at the $5 crowd, since commission access is their main benefit, but anyone's free to reply!
Which of the following benefits appeals most to you:
2019-02-20 00:27:27 +0000 UTC View PostSince TIOS is at least in part a story about life in high school, I try to include some of those tropes. This particular chapter is the senior's final k-12 spring break, with a couple TIOS-imposed twists to make it a little more fun. With each book, I try to pick an early-ish chapter to tease the book to the lot of you fine folks, and this one's going to be it for TIOS vol 3 (which I've been calling 3OS in my chapter releases to the $50+ crowd). There's some stuff that happens before this, of...
2019-02-17 13:56:05 +0000 UTC View PostA fresh commission, hot off the presses. Maybe just a little bit meta on this one, writing about a guy who wants to publish a book. His book, however, is definitely way better than mine. :)
Anyways, enjoy! Hope you had a good weekend and are ready to slog through what comes.
2019-02-11 05:22:40 +0000 UTC View PostThis one came from a really fun idea, fun enough that I got carried away and went insanely over budget and just said screw it because I wanted to keep going. (Not something I plan on making a habit of, but just this once...)
This centers around a young boy in the early 60's. (It was supposed to be in the 50's, but I am just now realizing I made an allusion to a film that wasn't released until 1960. Oops!) He's a special kind of nerd, big into his ham radio, and after a freak accident, h...

Here we have a sequel to an oldie but a goodie, The Wizard. The protagonist is new, but that rascally wizard is still the same, this time working his magic on a cosplay girl at a convention. She's dressing as Anna from the video games series Fire Emblem, though with a few little tweaks along the way. It's always nice to have a bit of artwork to draw inspiration from (see attached image), though with a story that has some body growth/alteration in it, it's a shame not to have a before/af...
2019-01-22 05:59:00 +0000 UTC View PostThat's the name of the story, not me apologizing for anything. This is the belated December monthly commission drawing (and props to the drawing winner for being so patient!).
I often compare writing on commission to doodling with crayons. Sometimes, you've got the lines all sketched out for you in the coloring book and you just pick a crayon color and fill it in. Other times, you've got a blank sheet of paper and the a world of possibility. Both have their fun sides. Usually, whe...

OK, so for the record, I *did* have this completed by my original goal of Christmas, but Amazon only now approved it. (Some of you amazing folks have already gotten a copy before I even got the email!) So here it is, everybody, book 2 of the This Is Our Story saga, We, The Nighthawks.
Folks, I am so, so proud of this one. As many of you know, my books tend to be pretty episodic. I like to write what I hope will...
2018-12-27 08:26:05 +0000 UTC View PostThanks so much for your on-going support, everyone. You are the freaking bomb. Here's your copy of We, The Nighthawks! It's still in review on Amazon, so you're getting the final edition earlier than anyone else on the planet. And if I fucked something up, don't tell me, because it's too friggin' late now, and I don't have a magical editing program of my own. I don't even have MS Word, you guys. :D
Happy holidays, and I hope you enjoy the heck out of the book!
2018-12-23 17:52:45 +0000 UTC View PostAs of this morning, my rough draft of We, The Nighthawks is complete! The word count at the moment is a whopping 126,476 words, around 300 pages. I loved writing every word of this sucker, folks. It makes me want to go career on magical yearbook erotica and see if I can't make bank. :) I may yet change the title and save WTN for the final book in the trilogy, but we'll see. For only $50, you can go back and read all the rough drafts of the chapters, but that is clearly insane so don't do that. (...
2018-12-11 13:59:05 +0000 UTC View PostHeya folks! A nice person recently contacted me to commission me to write a Christmas-themed companion piece to My New Girlfriend, much like the Valentine's Day one I did a while back. I decided I had a better vision for how to address that story line, so I considered this kind of a re-do and started sort of from scratch. You must now delete any record of the old story and NEVER SPEAK OF IT AGAIN. (Or enjoy both and ignore the overlap.) Anyways, for those of you who've been binging Hallmark movi...

Life is good, folks. New mouse that has a working scroll button, new keyboard that has a working space bar, and a new monitor that let's me actually function in a split screen universe. I've had a 27" for a long while now, and I've been able to sort of squeeze two screens side by side, but it's never quite been ideal. Now I can easily fit my writing on the one side, and have a nice expansive view of my muse on the side. I don't know about you all, but I do my best creative work with a reminder o...

2018-10-31 00:28:06 +0000 UTC View PostWhew! This is only barely an early release, provided Simon manages to get it up on the EMCSA this week. (And if not, bless his heart anyway because I totally sent it to him at like 4am the day of the update.) Regardless, we return as usual to Mr. Jasper's Curio Shoppe, where he has just the thing for a woman trying to connect with her bratty daughter by handing out candy to trick or treaters. It's silly, it's dumb, and I wish I'd had time to squeeze in another 5000 words, but deadlines are what ...
