oh my god, these backgrounds killed me, but I think they're some of my best work with bgs so far +_+

I'm really proud of that one first bike tire frame. I ended up making a new brush in photoshop and it has been helping like crazy. If I use it large, it make a camera 'bokeh' effect, and if it's small, it makes excellent textures.

Ah, finally back in the saddle with a new page and a new chapter!

It was so weird drawing different characters and environments @_@

But now that I'm drawing the cafe and other chars again, I think I can tell that I've made some improvements! I enjoyed the dreary atmosphere and lighting in this page. I really wanted to do some rain ^_^

This chapter will only be a 2-page setup, then we'll dive into another big one.

Tutorial: Hair

Made another coloring tutorial! This time I went over how I shade hair in the comic.

My method doesn't give you the most realistic hair in the universe, but it's very very FAST! XD My coloring methods with the comic are often centered around getting as much quality as I can in a small amount of time, since I have to color such a large amount of stuff at once.

Death Runes Font

I never intended to make an actual font of my alphabet replacement since I write all my dialogue by hand, but I realized I need a sort of computer interface thing for the last page... and hand writing that much text for a background type element would be insane.

Raven/Strade WIP

I'm slowly working on a pic of these two -rubs chin- I want it to be really good so I'm taking my time on it. I think I'm fairly satisfied with the composition, but I'm not happy with all the anatomy and expression :/

Sketch stage can be a real challenge XD

I'm planning on having it be dark/nighttime, soft purple 'moonlight' over the whole thing, then some sharp object source lighting coming from two tentacle corners [ orange for strade, light blue for raven ]

Tutorial - Basic Colouring

Hey! Here's my first tutorial. It's really super basic stuff, but I figured I'd start with this so that the next ones will make more sense.

Here's some basic info about my setup as well:

- I use a Mac, but that doesn't really matter. Just make my user interface look a little different than PC.

- I use Photoshop CS6, but hopefully a lot of this theory can translate over to other programs too. I'm not doing anything super complicated for the most part.

An overview of my process

Here's an example of how a typical frame will look throughout the week as I work on a chunk :D My chunks vary in size but they're usually 9-12 frames long. 

Monday: I know that looks like ass but the point of thumbing is mostly just to decide how a frame will be composed. A lot of the day is spent thinking. I look at my script a lot, which is formatted like this:
