Work In Progress - The Empress Material Painting

Here are some pictures of the recent progress with The Empress armor. The thing is beginning to look and I'm quite happy with that.

I did a mistake during the UVW mapping process - the collar part had some overlapping. I was able to fix it without loosing the SP project progress though. You can see the fix in the gallery above.

Nevertheless I want to experiment a bit more with the breastplate, to give it some more pleasant detail...

Work In Progress - The Empress FBX Export

Hello there dear Patrons,

Finally I managed to finish the UVW mapping of all the armor parts and did the FBX export. You can look up the UVW patterns in the  gellary above.

Also I did the masks in Substance Painter and I'm ready to paint :)

I'm preparing the model for an FBX export to start a Substance Painter project for it. Therefore I'm optimizing the UVW patterns for different model parts.

The helmet, skirt, gloves and the cape are ready. The body, bracers and the collar are still to come.

Work In Progress - Refining The Helmet

Hey there dear Patrons :)

I'm still working a bit with the shape of the Empress Helmet. I think it's getting close to a nice version that I can mat paint. I'd like to get close to the feel of the attached historical helmet photo in the face area.

I think I'll remodel the front part a bit more and we'll be ready to paint. I'm quite happy with the horns and back part.

Work In Progress - Refining the Empress Armor

Hello there dear Patrons :)

Recently I managed to refine the Empress Armor mesh a bit. Added some belts. There is still some left to add. I also remodeled the bracers a bit to make them fit the "shard" style more.

Also added the "chainmail" layer beneath the breast plate to cover joints and these areas that won't be covered by plate.

I think the model's look improved a bit.

I'm really happy with these updates since I had a really rough week. Coming back to work after...

Work In Progress - Salem Gown Tests with Nella

The first screen tests for the Salem Gown are done. I have to do some more wieght-painting tweaks for the bodice and for the collar - there is somewhat chaos in how they move and a bit of clipping in some more extreme poses. Work In Progress - Salem Retex Materials Update

Ok, all the embroideries are done for now. Looking good. I also tweaked the collar a bit and put the same pattern on it as the front skirt part, to make the whole look more consistant. Now for some extra geometry like lace trimmings and so on to complete the look. Maybe some minor texture fixes and we'll be ready to test also this one.

Work In Progress - 1640 Salem Retex

Some progress with the Salem Retex of the 1640 Gown.

I placed and aligned the underlay from the original photo on the model in SP.

I will have to make up a part of these details to complete the whole bodice. In the finished bodice I'd like to add some extra lace geometry and sleeves extensions to match the Salem outfit more.
