Existing patreons may have noticed that we've adjusted our tiers. We decided there was no point in our upper tier, as the only thing it really offered was a video credit. The fan interaction is happening anyway, both here and on Twitter. Therefore we've switched to having just the one £5 tier and to credit everyone who supports us!

The evening our friends came over for a general social evening. As well as playing Tekken 2 on the Playstation one, we played a few other games and ended with a bit of slightly tipsy dancing and singing into remote controls (as pretend microphones!)

Columns - a game Simon only ever played at friends houses as a kid. Helen hadn't seen it before, but as she's a Candy Crush queen she had no problems picking it up. We now have 'Mega Games 1' - three games on one cart that seemed amazing feat back in the day!

It's Christmas Eve and so here are some photos of the second half of our Advent. We've wrapped the presents, been to a Christmas party, and baked treats, all naked of course - as that's how we like to live our lives. We also received a pre-Christmas hamper from my mother that Helen can't have - she's dairy intolerant!

Its nearly Christmas! Time for some Retro Christmas Gaming! We picked this game up from a local charity shop a while a go, but saved it for the festive season to investigate. Written in 2002 it was released towards the end of the PlayStation 1 era, and has to be one of the crappest games we've played! We're still not very good at it though, and it is a bit of seasonal fun nontheless.

The mini Street Fighter II MegaDrive came with a second built-in game - Ghouls'n Ghosts! We've seen a lot of people rave about this game, but never actually played it - as you can tell!

Here we are again with the Sega Megadrive (aka Genesis) - well sort of. As we lack two real 6-button controllers, we're using the TV game version by Radica which - at 17 years old - is pretty much retro itself. It was kindly donated by Ed Mozley - thanks Ed! Simon used to play Street Fighter II in the arcade in the early 90s, and Helen has played it before too, but this is the first time either of us have seen it in years.

Along with True Pinball, Helen had Tekken 2 back in the 90's and was pretty good. Simon bought it for her again a few years a go, but we've never sat down and properly played it! Apparently we've both forgotten how to!

This is a picture of how we (currently) capture our gameplay! The Shadowcast is the key piece of kit here - it plugs into an HDMI socket and pretends to be a USB webcam to the computer! I then just use Quicktime on my Mac to record the output from the console. Meanwhile, Helen's phone has the best camera in the house, so that is clamped to a tripod to video us. I then combine the two later on my desktop PC.

Back in the 90s I had a PlayStation and my favourite game was 'True Pinball'. We have the original game again now and played it on one of our retro gaming evenings on an original PlayStation.
