Artbook Vol. 19 Release Date, Patreon Updates, Focusing on my Community, Social Media Reconsideration, and Etc.

Hello everyone, it's been a while! Sorry for the long wait! I'm not sure where to start since there many things I want to discussed, but all I can say is I'm back! I assume there'll be some questions so I'll try to address them.

Since you are back, will you release artbook monthly again?
I've set the current billing to 'per creation' before I went on a long break(although technically, I was still making artworks for the artbook most of the time). Meaning, it won't be monthly by default, but I'll strive to release more sooner. If in case I manage to finish 2 artbooks in a month, I decided to at least have a minimum of 30 days interval between artbook releases (so it doesn't affect your budget for supporting me, considering that you became a patreon supporter when it was still a monthly billing charge).

As for the date of charge/billing for vol. 19, it'll be August 1st, then the artbook will be delivered on the 1st week of august.

The post that will be set as charged ( since it's per creation) will be posted tomorrow (July 31) that will also contain the teaser for the next artbook volume. While charge is per creation, it seems there is still a fixed schedule for charging the pledge, which is every1st day of a month.

Note:
if you are one of the supporters from my separate patreon tip jar, that month will be paused during the release of the artbook so you won't get charged from both patreon (double charge). Also thank you again for the support during the time I wasn't able to release artbooks, it helps a lot!

Will there be any changes to your patreon content/tiers?
Not at this moment! Although I've been giving a lot of consideration on how to handle the emoji/emoticon reward. Currently, At the moment, it is access-only, meaning, if one is no longer a patreon supporter, one loses access to it and its right of usage . I've been thinking of bundling it with the artbook, which means that you'll get permanent access and usage for the emojis, but its disadvantage is you lose access if you missed a volume release, unless I made it available in my store like gumroad.

Adding more focus to patreon & discord. Social media reconsideration.
Twitter has changed a lot (which is now called x). While I will still be using it, I really want to pay more attention on my current community in the patreon (both this patreon, and the tip jar patreon) and discord. While this patreon regarding artbook will focus on artbook releases, I want to make some polls too, not only for the artworks of the artbook, for the emojis too. As for the tip jar patreon, I'm planning to post semi-random stuff there, like what I bought with your support, doodle and wips?, video game related stuff, or maybe something else.

I also have been considering Matsodon and Misskey. Matsodon for my game dev stuff, and Misskey for the artworks. I was thinking it was a good chance to give it a though considering its been my dilemma with my twitter account (if I should make another account, or just post on the same account with my game dev stuff). I'll wait and see first where it goes, and I'm hoping I'll be able to integrate it with discord since twitter is no longer viable due to them charging 3rd parties.

What happen to your Draknier Story / Game Dev project?
I'm still working on it and haven't given up on it, but I did downscale, not by making the story scope smaller, but by focusing on a single character, in a certain part of the story, and with a smaller area. I've been slowly building the foundation. I've also moved from Godot 3.5 to Godot 4.0 wherein 4.0 has lots of 3d features I've been looking forward to. I'm planning to port some of the scripts/scenes/gameobjects I made in 3.5, which I will use for the game.

Why have you stopped streaming recently?
I do enjoy streaming and engaging with the community, but at the moment, it is too draining for me. Honestly always felt anxious to make mistakes live, or showing how I end up with making the artwork worst *laughs*. Adding to that, the worry of power outage since it is quite common here. I now even have more respect for those who can stream consistently. Maybe I'll stream every now and then, especially when I have plenty of time.

I guess that'll be it for today. Thank you for your time and the support! For staying with me all this time, really big thank you! I'll keep trying my best!

If you have any more concern/question, feel free to let me know via dm, email, or comment.

Have a good day!

A Look Back At 2021 & Plans For 2022

I know it's really late & I apologize, but it really took some time to fully prepare everything.

2021 Was a Tough Year
2021 has been one of the toughest year. There were just a lot of stuff occurring at the same time aside from being burnout. Family members seriously getting sick, things flopping, & other personal stuff. It's like when stars rarely align except it's not good things.

Anyway, let's set all those aside and talk about the plans.

Adjusting Focus
Last year has just made me even more aware of things, my parents are getting really old so going forward, I really want to focus on being able to help them, I still have plenty of time in this world to work on my personal projects so I can do those slowly or later on. Can't say the current financial situation is that good too, so I'll be focusing on that part.

I Was Planning To Move Out  Last Year (I Also Got a Faster Internet now!)
Late last year, I was planning to move out due to the benefit of being able to stream without noise and have better internet, but luckily, we managed to avail the faster internet at the current place I stay although it was costly to make it possible *laughs*. Faster internet really does help with productivity, I remember when I still had slow internet, I couldn't even properly watch tutorials, research, attach/upload documents, and stuff.

I'm still planning to move out this year , but I'll have to make money first as it's not simply
a case of just moving out.

Shifting Priorities, Commission full-time As Main Priority, Artbook Production Sustainability, & Draknier Story
about 80% of my problems at the moment are rooted on money, and continuing the pacing of the work of artbook and the money I make from it has no longer become sustainable, but it doesn't mean I've given up on it, it's just that I'll also start doing commission full time as my main priority, second would be the artbook & a new content I'm still  considering (which I'll elaborate more later on), and thirdly, the draknier story project. Technically speaking, I'm always doing the artbook content since most of my personal artwork I post on my SNS are going there, it's just that it'll take time for them to be compiled into an artbook.

Release of artbook will no longer be a monthly thing, but whenever it's ready, I don't know if how many artbooks will I be able to release this year or maybe 2, 1, or might even reach next year. I've already set the patreon not to automatically charge, but for when I'll only release the artbook. On the good side, this also means that I'll have more time to work on the artbook, and be able to experiment with the artworks.

Regarding The New Content I Just Mentioned, It's "Emoji/Emote Packs"
I've considering to create emoji packs, unfortunately, patreon does not allow different tiers to be charged independently so I couldn't integrate it here and since my jrpg content is diverse, it might be for the better since some may not be familiar with certain character. The emoji pack will focus on 1 character, e.g. 9 emojis/emotes of pyra from xenoblade 2 or 9 emojis/emotes of Edelgard from Three Houses. This content will be outside of patreon.

It's also a subject that I'm interested to stream.

Reorganizing  Protagonist Tier Discord
I'm also planning to add 'unsung protagonist' category for supporters who insisted and were passionate to support monthly without rewards via another patreon account .

Draknier Story Project
The best that I can do so far at the moment is working on the lore, world building, story, and  creating characters, and occasionally do a bit of studies on the side (3D softwares, game engine, game design, & etc.). There are cases that I've considered just writing a novel, prototyping the script/story in RPGMaker, or something just to make something out of it... however I've decided to just set the project on my mind as a 'hobby project' instead, it's easier to work around it, treating it as a hobby than as a potential commercial project. Circumstances were different few years ago, I just don't have those luxury anymore.

So yeah, Draknier Story is never going away, I feel very alive whenever I work on it *laughs*.

Plans For Streaming Content After Moving
I'll talk about it once I'm close to moving or after I moved, it'll probably take quite a long time before I could move, but I'm excited for the new content. For the mean time, it'll just be the usual "me playing a game or drawing without voice".

Will I Be Less Active On Social Media?
No, it was only for the past few weeks (as of the time of this post) since I was primarily focusing on preparing things, one of it is the commission form.

Commission, Where?
As for the link to the commission site, here it is: ( https://gofelem-commission.carrd.co/ ).  Please do not spread it at the moment, just fulfilling my promise to my supporters about the notification of commission opening, and i still have to fulfill the newsletter/commission inquiry I had set up since 2019. I'll announce the link publicly once I've worked on the list, which may take months. For non-supporters or people who did sign the newsletter form, if you found it via the search engine or through this post, there's nothing I can really do about it, feel free to access it *laughs*.

--
That's all for the update today, thank you for your time and have a good day!... I really want to start playing Pokemon Legends Arceus, but I haven't finish Trials of Mana yet *laughs*.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

First of all, I want to thank everyone who supported me all this time and helping me reach this far. The artbook series couldn't make it this far without your support.

2021 wasn't really a great year for me. There were a lot of personal struggles I had to deal with and alongside it, there were many negative things occurring in my surroundings (it's like those rare moments when stars lines up, except it's not stars, but negative things. I guess it would be something like 'perfect coincidence' or 'combo' *laughs*), but it's not all bad stuff, there are also many good things, especially on the video game side of things since. there were a lot of great games that came out! I've also been pondering if I should elaborate on the negative stuff so I could provide more context..., but nah, after giving it a lot of thought I'd rather not, can't ruin everyone's new year with negativity, it's all in the past anyway *laughs*.

Ah yes, there'll be a major change about my patreon content  and plans for 2022 which I'll write a post about later on this week, and to provide some context for the reason behind the changes. It has both its positive and negative side, but in long term, I think it's leaning more on the positive side.

Really a big thank you again to my chad supporters/protagonists for being lenient with me (artbook delays & more delays).

Going forward with 2022, all I can say is I'll continue give my best. And also be a bit more healthy and communicate with you guys more often, whether in a form of stream (I have a better internet now, leet's goo0~), being active on posting twitter stuff, or something else. Talking about stream, I'm thinking of doing one tomorrow, around 10pm (+8 GMT), just a chill non-voiced stream. Maybe I'll play genshin and/or just doodle on youtube or twitch. Please feel to drop by if you're interested.

That's all I have to say for now, so once again, happy new year, and I hope you'll have a fruitful 2022!! I'm so excited for 2022, so many amazing nintendo games & other games are going to release and be announced.

Take care and see you again soon (๑´ㅂ`๑)!

Important Announcement: Vol. 15, 16, 17, & 18 targeted at July. After delivery of the pending artbooks, there'll be a shift with schedule, it'll no longer be a monthly artbook. Starting from July, no monthly charge until the next artbook(vol.19) is ready. I'll go on a break. After the break, commission will open.

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I last posted (however, if you were following me on my social media, I'm posting progresses there). Please don't worry as I'll definitely deliver artbooks & I hope it'll be worth the wait!

The important announcement may come as a good news or bad news depending on your perspective, although I don't really treat as a majorly bad news (´∀`;).

There are very important things I would like to talk about:
1) Artbook Vol. 15, 16, 17, & 18 are all targeted to release on July.
• Artbook Vol. 15 (covers the March 1st charge)
• Artbook Vol. 16 (covers the April 1st charge)
• Artbook Vol. 17 (covers the May 1st charge)
• Artbook Vol. 18 (covers the June 1st charge)

2) Month starting from July & going forward will not be charged.
3) After all the pending Artbooks have been released, my patreon content delivery will go on semi-hiatus.
4) I'll be taking a break.
5) Once I finish my break, commission will finally open
6) Artbook delivery will no longer be a monthly thing. It will be paced  slowly & will release whenever it is ready. You won't be charged in advance, and you will be notified a week in advance should the artbook release soon so you can decide if you'll continue pledging or cancel before the artbook releases (which will probably take many months or so).

Now, I'll address some of the possible concern:

Will you stop making JRPG related content & JRPG/video game fanart?
No, jrpg is my lifeblood & I'll definitely continue to make content related to them, draw, create, & play. I'll continue to do it till the day I die ((⊂(`ω´∩).

If the artbook is no longer a monthly thing, when will be the next artbook(Vol.19) release?
All I can say is whenever it will be ready, maybe many months or longer. I want to take time on it & just have fun working on it & push the artworks as far as I can.

Will these change the way you do things?
Most likely no, the only thing that will change is the frequency of artbook delivery & less burden on your wallet.

Will we see less fanart now that the artbook delivery will be less frequent?
May be unlikely, but I can't say for sure since it'll depend on the commission I'll get. All I can say for now is 'personal commissions' will most likely be jrpg/video-game related fanart. I can only assume for now, but most it'll most likely be Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Nintendo games like Kid Icarus/Smash Bros.,and  etc.〔´∇`〕

With that context, it might actually get more frequent as I'll also be posting/sharing them on twitter/pixiv/fb or wherever I am.

What about the  JRPG emojis?
The same frequency as the artbook, it'll release alongside it.

As for the previous months, all pending JRPG emojis will also release with the pending artbooks. In fact, I already finished quite a number of them.

Will these affect our discord reward/roles & access to patron-access only content?
No, you'll continue to be a protagonist/patron even if you don't get charged for months, as long as you're still pledging.(`∇´ゞ)

Won't this be exploited by pledging, then canceling when artbook is about to release (to avoid getting charged), then pledge again after?
Sure, but I care more about my real supporters. Those who really want & can support will stay, and those who don't will not. Not that I'll just let it go as it'll be not fair to the current supporters & possibly cause inconvenience to both me & my supporters, so I'll blacklist them after seeing a pattern & investigating it.

Why have you decided to change the schedule of delivery?
Mainly due to burnout and being both physically & mentally exhausted. It's been very unhealthy for me. With each every volume, I try to push the content & quality of artwork as much as  I can while also factoring the time. The problem with this is, aside from its taking more time, whenever I get new supporters, there is much more expectation due to the standard I set from previous volume so it snowballs. I can't just reduce the content since it'll be like selling the DLC & immediately nerfing it, and the artist in me just couldn't settle being stagnant so I'll always try pushing it.

Although as what can be seen, it's recently really shown some of its effect these past few recent months(´Д`).

There's just a lot of challenges:
• I've never felt satisfied about my artworks recently, hence I decided to take more time to work on them. Like for example, Vol. 15's artworks can be considered finished, although I haven't compiled them yet as I continue to revisit them and make improvements.
• There's just too much burnout + exhaustion to the point that I often had to artificially motivate myself to keep on.

What about your Draknier Story Project? What happened to it?
I'm always trying to work on it whenever I can, although it's mostly concept art related & story drafts that I'm not ready to post.

It's also one of the reason why I've considered making these changes, so I could have more time for it, hopefully( ̄人 ̄) .

While you are on break, will you be less active, see less post from you, & less active in the community?
No, I'm here to stay, nothing really changes aside from artbooks taking much much longer & doing commissions(after the break). (๑´ㅂ`๑)

What I'm attempting to do with these changes is turn it into "my pace" kind of thing & take more control of my time.
In fact, I think I'll be able to share to more variety in what I do & share. Doodles, art & gamedev studies/progresses, sketches.

Another thing is stream, I may be able to make more time for it, either to play games, draw commission, or draw for personal content (artwork for artbook, draknier story, doodles, etc.).

As for "break", I'm not really taking a break as if I'm going alone on a self-searching kind of thing, but more of a 'fun productive' rather than a 'logically/efficiently productive'. Just have fun doing personal stuff randomly. Play games, do studies of what I'm interested in without being concern about making money/living or being productive to make money/living, but more on about personal growth.

Why semi-hiatus?
It's because I will not stop from making fanart, but when I start the commission after the break, it might greatly affect the frequency, although technically, I am still making jrpg/video game fanart, but as commissioned artworks. It's been so long since I last opened a commission publicly, probably back in 2019, so I'm not sure about the amount of commission on the first wave as it will not be slot-limited (at least for the first batch).

PROS & CONS of these changes:

PROS:
-1~2 years from now, I can finally have the foresight of not seeing myself being in a hospital.
- Can be more active in the community/social/art platforms.
- More quality on artwork for the artbook
- Punctuality on artbook delivery
- Can finally do commissions (Personal & Commercial). Not just a one time thing, but can be a recurring one.
- More time to work on personal projects
- You will no longer be charged monthly.

CONS:
- Artbooks will take longer

What about us who wants to continue supporting regardless of the reward?
I know that there are some of you, so thank you, I really appreciate, but you don't necessarily have to feel oblige as I've already received so much. But for those who insist, I don't know yet, there'll probably be some ways.

I'm really curious about the commission, what are your prices, what options do we have, & how long will it take to finish?
Please wait until after the break, please don't worry, I got you covered, all of that will be answered & you can ask/inquire for more details if the commission info that I'll prepare doesn't suffice (๑˃́ꇴ˂̀๑)

So when & how long will you take a break? And when will you take commissions?
I will be grinding(not rushing) to finish & release all pending artbooks in July so on August.
Probably for the whole month of august if I can.

If everything goes well, starting from September then onwards. I'll probably have to work on the 1st wave of commissions for months〔´∇`;〕 .

And that's all for the announcements!
Thank you for your time & sorry if it's a long read, I really want to give context and explanation as much as possible (´∀`ゞ.

If you have more questions, please free to ask via comment/dm message/email/etc.

Thank you again & have a great pleasant day (๑´ㅂ`๑)!

Draknier Story - Dev Diary #07 - Development Recap + Draknier Story Artworks + Story Concepts + Character Design & Details + Future Direction

It's been a very long time since I wrote anything Draknier related. I was considering separating a draknier update for the recap and the new things going forward, but I decided to condense them into a single post as to not spam you with email notification.

I can only apologize as you might get disappointed, but these are the things I managed to do with the time I had & to the extent that I can.

Draknier Story Development Recap
I've probably mention it before, but just a bit of context is that prior to when I stopped the monthly update, I was able to spend much more time into game development study, this was before the artbook Vol. 4. Initially, my plan for the artbook was simply to just be a sketchbook, although as you have seen, it has already evolved to something more than just a non colored sketchbook.

I was not content with the artbook content, so starting from Vol.4, I drew more often (which also reflects the frequency of twitter artworks/work-in-progress). This consumed more time, & work obligations I had before I started my patreon resurfaces & require me to work my part as those are yet to be finished.

So as time passes since the start of Vol.4, my time for game development(technical stuff such as programming) gradually gets more smaller. The best way I can make use of my time & that allowed me to multitask efficiently is to work on the lore, story, world building, character concept & design.

While I did make some progress and I may find them meaningful, but it may not up to the standard of your expectation as they can be considered miniscule.
3D Sculpting in Blender

While I did have a small experience sculpting with Zbrush from long time ago, sculpting on blender is entirely new to me (Never knew that blender had a tool like this).

One of the reason I've considered 3d sculpting is there are 2 workflows I had a hard time choosing, it's either sculpting a High Polygon -> Retopology  vs. start with the traditional low polygon.

I did consider sculpting, but at this point, I think this kind of workflow might not be for me or is still early for me. I wanted to start with low poly, and to understand the planes of the subject/object, so I'll go with the traditional low polygon rather than High polygon -> retopology.

Still, I would like to include 3D sculpting as a part of my studies, although less of a priority when it comes to creating 3D game assets.

When it comes to the technical side, it's really quite depressing for me. But as far as what I've been doing with it, I'm slowly learning syntax/unity api and the basics, although I might have to relearn some of it.

Fundamentals/Basics can be easily forgotten for me as I am not able to consistenly work on it, so making small tiny fragmented projects helps me reference and review it later on.

From the screenshot, I'm doing a simple transition from scene to scene while also having a preloading screen . I'd like to have something playful, just like with ps1 jrpg loading screens.

Although it might not be as relevant if we factor in the system requirements of the game I'm trying to make and level of technology as of today *laughs*.

With this screen shot, Behind the scenes, I'm playing & testing unity's prefab system. For example, doing a nested prefab, doing modification and trying to see how the relation to its parent or something affects it, or recreating prefabs. There's also the collision thing which is one of the biggest hurdle for me. It's a bad habit of mine to get really bothered when something doesn't work well (example, it bounces off a bit, or weird behavior depending on fps or something like that). I find that polishing is much harder than making the intended feature work, since without those refined polish, glitch/bugs will flow in(at least, in my experience).

When it comes to UI design, there as much variables to consider, if I should go with the route of handpainted Menu UI, coded, & implemented in the 3D scene or utilizing unity's built in UI system (I think the latter will be more efficient if I'm doing a minimalistic UI, but that's not what I was going for). I'm thinking of the former, but I'll have to study & do more experiments to see what's  best for the direction I want to take.

Not being able to work on the technical side of game development is honestly depressing as working on my own project is also one of my strong source of passion. At some point I did consider downscaling the game  and to something different and to find a way that I can produce result quicker. There were a number of conceive plans such as:

Draknier Story: Dragon's Cry Concept
I created a very short & simplified story with 3 main characters and an extremely short story, although setting up the premise wasn't a quick thing to do.

Draknier Story: Dragon's Cry - Premise
There's a band of mercenary & our main male protagonist is a part of it. They have a reputation amongst the nobility so they are often hired & trusted by a certain nobility when engaging in the skirmishes of war, dealing with bandits, and escort missions. Almost as if they are a private army of his.

One day, they were called in by this nobility, In this meeting room, 2 cloaked person were there and one of them was introduced as the crowned warrior princess, and the other lady as a flimsy aid/maid. In this meeting room of the nobility, here in its table, negotiations are about to unfold. For a large sum of gold, they are to accompany this princess towards her mission of claiming a draknier core from a scourge dragon (undead/corpse/cursed) in one of the most dangerous places of that world which is a swamp/great forest.

The mercenaries were hesitant, but with the faith & kindness of that old nobility had for them, they nervously, yet willingly accepted it.

Draknier Story: Dragon's Cry - A bit of lore about the world
Two kingdoms are against with each other and skirmishes are common among the kingdoms' borders. The Western Kingdom is where our protagonist and his group of mercenary are currently located.

The Western Kingdom is having it's own internal power struggle as the new crowning of a new king/queen gets closer, so in order for the crowned princess to solidify her position, she embarks on a mission anonymously to obtain something that would make it possible. While gone, she has a double that act as her replacement. Uniting the Western kingdom under her command & then resisting the Easten Kingdom is what she is tasked with by the King that is on his deathbed.

Concept art/sketch of the crowned princess.

Concept art for the main protagonist is incomplete so I am unable to show it.

As for the vision of gameplay, it's very basic, down to your standard jrpg. Overworld, towns, standard turn based, but very dumb down in terms of gameplay length & content.

If I were to have a rough estimate when factoring the story & game concept I've worked on, there are about 2-3 towns along the way of a linear field/exploration, and playable characters/Party Members are 2-3. Bosses can probably be counted with one hand's fingers.

One main reason behind the concept of this is I'm feeling the overwhelming pressure of having to deliver something to my supporters, considering Draknier Story Development has been barren.

Moving on to the next one, I'll be covering about Draknier Story: Fragment

Draknier Story: Fragment Concept
A different Draknier Story called Draknier Story: Morrigan or Draknier Story:Fragment that borrows inspiration from the original Draknier Story, but is also a much shorter story  compared to the original Draknier Story.

Character designs were originally considered to be very simple, meaning, not much polygons, or minimizing it and relying on texture painting the 3D model for the outfit.

3D Reference Sheet of Nemhayn

By this time, I went from the traditional low poly as I've decided on it. I did work on Nemhayn's 3D model, although it is yet to be finished.

Also, the proportion of the 3D models was taken into consideration, I went with your typical cuter proportion as there are plenty of advantages to it in terms of game design.

although I had to change it again considering that I will have to make assets that fit them(Assets such as doors, chairs, doodads, house, stairs, etc.), and these assets might no longer reusable should I ever change the proportion of the character models. These things are really hard to decide on  because they are pretty much a subjective thing, I like both styles of character proportion, and it makes choosing one over the other even more difficult as both have their own strong charms & game design benefits.

I went again to my desk and redraw, but much closer to my usual normal style of character proportions.

With the smaller and cute proportion 3D model, I was still considering to use a more normal proportion when doing their dialogue portraits/artworks, but with the much more normal 3d proportions, It's pretty much a 1:1 in terms of 2d & 3d art conversion.

Before we proceed, here are Martyl's & Opheris' concept design.

Draknier Story: Fragment - The Concepcion
Draknier Story: Fragment is a concept where it's also inspired from the concept of the original Draknier Story. Although this one in terms of scale is between the Draknier Story: Dragon's Cry & the original Draknier Story.

Draknier Story: Fragment - Premise
With draknier Story Fragment, there's a young looking man called Martyl that lives alone in a forest, but a nearby village can also be seen just outside the forest. He is doing his daily routine of taking care of his very small garden when suddenly a loud noise can be heard & tremors can be felt underneath the ground, dirt smoke can be seen above the forest and birds flying away in panic can be seen.

Martyl then proceeds to check what happened there & upon arriving at the source of chaos, he saw a small crater at the bottom edge of the cliff along with a shallow flowing riverbed. As he takes a closer look, he saw a heavy wounded woman without consciousness, with an unusual clothes and a pair of horns that can be seen in the dark  that slowly recedes in.

Martyl decided to carry her to his home and treat her wounds & lay her on bed. A few days have past, it was morning and a ray of light can be seen entering the wooden house through the window, the woman can be seen as if her eyes were looking lifeless. As she hears the chirp of the birds  and the sound of the axe, she relaxingly closes her eyes again.

A bit later on, at Martyl's garden, he can be seen picking some vegetables that he grew & he puts them into a small basket. From the back of Martyl, The wooden house can be seen & the sound of the door creaking can be heard as the woman opens it.

The woman can be fully seen wrapped with bandages and holding a blanket to cover her practically naked body, Martyl spoke "Oh, you're awake. That's a good thing." while he continues to do his stuff without looking back.

The woman asked "Why?..", Martyl responded with "Why indeed....", The woman waits for Martyl to gather his thoughts, ...Martyl then finally spoke "No reason at all, or if you're not convinced by that, then perhaps I can say that it's just a whim of mine". The woman then made an expression, a mix of pain, worry, & a little bit of angriness, she calmly said "...You've probably seen what I am, while I am really grateful for your help, if such a scenario occurred, anyone should be aware that it can only bring trouble if you were to invol--", The woman suddenly stopped talking as if she was interrupted when she heard Martyl chuckled, Martyl then asked "..Trouble?" and he then burst into laughter that almost felt like a hysterical laugh, the woman looks flabbergasted. As Martyl finishes his laugh, he stands up from where he is and look back to the woman, he then spoke "Yes, trouble, I think that may actually be the reason", The woman looked at Martyl with confusion as a sweat flows down her cheek, Martyl spoke "It shows on your expression, that you think I'm unusual or an odd person", the woman feeling surprised by what Martyl said, she then said "Ah! I apologize to my savior for my rude behavior, even tho-", interrupted by Martyl, he then spoke "No, you're right, I actually have a one or two loose screws so I'll apologize in advance", followed by laughter as if it was his pride, the woman then makes the expression of sigh & relief, the woman suddenly realizes she forgot to introduce herself "Ah! Apologies as I have yet to introduce myself to my savior, my name is Nemhayn Zmeiyher, thank you again for saving me.", Martyl then smiled & responded "I'm Martyl, it's a pleasure to meet you, Nemhayn", Martyl then reaches his hand out for a handshake while smiling, Nemhayn then close her eyes and made a smile, then open her eyes again to shakes hands with Martyl and spoke " I'll definitely repay you for this gratitude of mine".

Draknier Story: Fragment - Main Character Concepts

Sorry everyone, I think my premise became a written story *laughs*, I got way into it.
Anyway, here is Nemhayn's new character concept design.

She has a calm demeanor, open-mindedness, and is a very skilled fighter. She will be your first companion/party member in the game. In terms of fighting capabilities, she would be on par or even stronger than her eldest sister if she wasn't missing this 'something'. A natural genius.

She has 2 sisters that will play big roles in the story, I was not planning to show it yet, but I might as well considering that Draknier Story: Fragment is still at its conceptual stage, and I just want to share more of what I worked on during these past months/last year.

She might be the youngest, You could say Cath/Cilla has the most highest physical prowess among the sisters(way above) & she's sort of a battle maniac. She has a short-temper, she can be pretty smart, not just as much as her other sisters. Cath/Cilla loses her smartness & becomes a muscle-head when she lose her fuse/temper, although this can also be her major asset as she becomes more unpredictable & uses her supernatural battle instinct.

Despite being blind, Grima is the strongest among the sisters, while Nemhayn comes in close(being the 2nd one). She might not be as physically strong as Cilla, but in terms of techniques & intelligence, she is vastly superior. She also excels in reading enemy movements, counterattacks, and pinpointing weaknesses/vital area.

Her real name being long has a reason. Can't say much for now *laughs*

That's as far as I can say about the other 2 sisters without spoiling the major plot points as their background & current state, Nemhayn's origin, and other related stuff are deeply tied to a plot. It will also take a while before you encounter them in the story.

Draknier Story: Fragment - Game Development Vision
This was the concept I was planning to pursue, and dropping  the original draknier for the mean time as while I was working on this, I have taken into consideration of what I can work with & also learn and grow as an artist at the same.

As what you've seen with the character design, from Nemhayn, then Cath/Cilla, and then Grima, their design is base on what I'll be studying. Nemhayn has a more simple design and I can just mirror the other half + having a shorter hair, Cath is a little more complex due to hair (rigging bones on hair for animation, & possible clipping issues), and lastly, Grima with uneven design (can't be mirrored), and having to deal with cloak or fabric animation.

So in terms of 3d modelling complexity
Lvl 1 - Nemhayn
Lvl 2 - Cathcilla
Lvl 3 - Grima

I was thinking, if learning the bare minimum is enough when it comes to 3d, and for me as an artist, I want to grow more, hence why I design these characters this way.

Moving forward, let's cover the original Draknier Story.

Draknier Story: Ascension
Also known as the original Draknier Story, the one that I did character art before. I've decided to label its subtitle with "Ascension", although I was actually considering to use the subtitle I originally came up with, being "Path of Ascension" and that may be to long *laughs*, I might still reconsider it again.

After pondering about Draknier Story: Fragment, I decided to get back on track with Ascension considering that preparing all these lore and stories won't really matter much
without implementing it in a game project, although working on these stories & lores are the few best things that I can do as far as multi-tasking & opportunities are concern.

There were a few changes made in the story & also expanded compared to my previous post from long time ago, although at its core, it still retains much of what it was.

I'd estimate that there would be about 6 playable characters in total, but I'm only able to provide the 4 of them.

First, let's go with Ayaciel, her design went with a lot of revision. There's also a reason why her ears are like that, it's not mutation, but a sign of one being born w/ having a large capacity/high aptitude of something.

Ayaciel is a kind, bold, & friendly young woman. Outside of training, she is often seen hanging at the stall of Mihr. She also likes hanging around friendly beasts(she turned them  friendly *laughs*), and occasionally spar or explore the forest with them. She also likes writing story books that may at times feel like a diary.
She utilizes her speed for quick attack and relies on her kicks.

The next one is Vietrix, which is a new character. She's always been together with Ayaciel(Childhood friend). Vietrix can be seen as calm & collected and the one who plans ahead. However, she can also be mischievous at times. She has a deep respect towards Mihr. She loves books and tomes as she craves for knowledge.

Wilhelmina/Wina, her looks here is that of when she's a party member. In the early part of the game, she will look different considering she is a high-ranking soldier of Dragnia Empire(She wears an armor/uniform).

While Wina has a serious demeanor and can be really cold, she can be soft-hearted, and she also has a fondness for adorable creatures & animals, however the creatures/animals may not feel the same.

She utilizes quick draw with a katana. This katana holds a special meaning to her as it's a passed down from a family.

And lastly, our main protagonist Mihr who is free-spirited and supports whatever Ayaciel decides to do. Aside from that, he tends to do other stuff such as cooking for the disciples of the same dojo, building his wooden stall, & plays an instrument. He is often asked for advise, whether it be for martial arts or just personal consultation.

Mihr is very kind to those he cherish(friends, family, etc.), but can be harsh or even cruel to those he sees as his enemies.

As you can see, Mihr, Ayaciel, & Vietrix share a similar color palette and design aesthetics as they all belong to the same place and dojo. While the dojo have many more disciples, these 3 are akin to a senior disciples/masters, but their skills are already beyond that. They occassionally help with training the disciples in the dojo, although the most active among them for doing this activity is Ayaciel.

Draknier Story: Ascension - Character Design for 3D
I went for something more, less of simple, but more detail w/out trying to go overboard.

Both with 2D and in 3D, I couldn't stop craving for growth so I want to learn more 3D, it doesn't have to be the top, but atleast not the bare minimum, just enough that it will allow me to do stuff that a bare minimum can such as cloth physics, polygon/jiggle physics, & more. I'm not really looking into advance stuff, just the intermediate stuff that will allow me to utilize it in my game development.

Game Development Direction
I'll be focusing on 3D, modelling I want to go beyond bare minimum, and to familiarize myself with the software to the point that I don't have to check hotkeys everytime, or get stuck trying to fix something.

Also, one of the games I started playing months ago (from last year) inspired me a lot for a more simplistic approach. These are Shin Megami Tensei IV & especially Fire Emblem Echoes. I felt like FE Echoes brought many answers to my Dilemma.

Fire Emblem Echoes on 3DS has a great balance of 2D art & 3D. Creating 3D assets especially NPCs can be very time consuming especially for unique ones(story characters).
Aside from the 3D pipeline (3D modeling, texturing, rigging,& animating), once I implement it in game, setting up the 3D animation for when the characters interact, and alongside it, dialogue portraits that reflects these interaction, and special effects emotions have to come together. With FE Echoes' approach, I have more flexibility to add characters, even disposable ones, small screentime character, or story-only characters as I don't have to worry about making every 3D models for them.

Talking about Fire Emblem Echoes, I really like the idea of being able to see the 2d artworks in a 3d environment (similar to shin megami tensei IV). The town navigation and world map are pretty much just interactive UI.

Although, I do think that Shin Megami Tensei IV has a more detailed exploration.

My point is, I'm breaking down the game development in small steps & shifting in direction, that will allow me to continue doing my usual stuff (jrpg fanart artbook, etc.) & lso work on my personal game dev project.

Game Development Road Map Chart

As you can see in the chart, the original direction I was taking before is mostly on Level 3(with some on Level 2 such as pre-rendered cutscene). This time however, I plan to stick on level 1, with level 2 being optional or serve as alternate options. Level 3 is, but a luxury, meaning that it's something able to do if I have the time, resources, and if I already had the existing level 1 or level 2 that can be built upon.

What I love about the current direction is there is much flexibility which I will elaborate on someday after I made enough progress or post it in another update.

Just a note that things are still subject to change, depending on the situation (e.g. actual implementation of level 1 can be more difficult compared to level 2, so they can be interchangeable).

Priorities
For now, what I want to mainly prioritize is working on my 3D skills, and I think that it will also be an interesting way to show both my growth as an artist and progress/preparation for game development. I want to familiarize myself with 3D to the point that it becomes second nature just like when I paint digital illustrations with a software. After that, I'll slowly work around into integrating it in the game engine(unity) and familiarize myself much more with the tools available within unity and choose what I think might be best for my situation (Mecanim, game engine physic-base animation for clothes/import manual animation for clothes, etc.).

Second is, when it comes to programming/scripting, I want to focus on Game Menu UI for now as a case study, and considering the shift in direction, it will be much more beneficial. Once i really get familiar on scripting with unity, rather than trying to solve collision problems,  dealing with rigidbody vs. character controller, and similar stuff, I'll look more into implementing database(such as using JSON file). Just like with my goal on blender, this is the best way I can think of to familiarize myself much more with the engine while also aligning it with my main goal. However, blender/3d will much more of a priority.

Doubts
At some point, I did consider just removing my drakier story development being part of my patreon, although I'll still probably post progress for it & work slowly on it at the side, just not as a main focus for my patreon, but I just decided to leave it there. There are also times that such thoughts like I could just drop the gamedev as a medium for storytelling and change draknier story's medium to lightnovel or manga/webtoon just so I could deliver result, but no, it will be probably life's biggest regret. Although artbook has become a big priority, draknier story plays a big part to my patreon's identity and my life is it is here to stay. Playing jrpgs, talking & sharing my love of jrpgs through fanarts, & working on my jrpg-inspired project are the major source of my lifeblood.

It might also not be healthy, but I take advantage of the pressure I get to work as much as I can. It can be a strong motivator, although burnouts are hard to deal with. There are times that I just don't want to overthink things and just go with "Let's f**king go, full throttle, & don't overthink".

Closing Remarks
That's all for this update, sorry, it might not be much, but i still hope you find the things I made to be enjoyable. I'll continue to try my best! Ah, for this month's draknier dev diary update, there will not be one since I really need to catch up with artbook Vol.15 for this month & jrpg emojis as it's very late.

Thank you agian for you time, stay healthy & have a great pleasant day (๑´ㅂ`๑).

Art of Gofelem - Book Vol. 13

Artbook content delivery finally resumes! This is the first volume for 2021. Apologies and also thank you for patience despite the long wait & delay again, both december and january were hectic when it comes to personal stuff as lots of concerning issues surrounded me. However, things are starting to get better now and I'll try my best to get back on track (´∀`).

I am also already working on Vol. 14 in advance (alongside Vol. 13) so hopefully I can manage to finish it on time for next month. However, it also slip my mind that next month will be valentines & I'm considering if I should make some valentines theme artwork. I'll see what I can do with it(๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و.

A quick summary of announcements
I'll be sharing the update here instead of a new post as there are already many upcoming posts/updates very soon.
• 3 new JRPG emojis added for the protagonists (jrpg emoji main hub post):
- Haze -> Thumbs Up,
- Mipha -> Sparkly Eyes,
- Dorothea -> Smug look

• Two upcoming Draknier Story post update, one being a recap+ future direction and the other showcasing the new concept art for the main characters.
• Next month's JRPG emoji will be all valentines/heart theme
• Commission info (;・∀ ・).. Sorry, it'll have to wait.. Maybe after I finish vol. 14 first, I want to prioritize vol. 14. Also, I discovered one excellent platform that could pretty much resolve one of my major issue for one of the main commission type(form, terms, etc.). More details soon.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! Thank you, What's In For 2021, Artbook Vol.13 Release Date, 3 New Emojis, Commission Update, Draknier Story Schedule, Conclusion

Merry Christmas / Happy New Year / Happy Holidays Everyone!

While 2020 has been tough for everyone, I hope that you are doing well and still find time to enjoy or have fun.

For this occassion, I made a JRPG christmas theme & Melia new year artwork.
Also new artwork WIPs, while I can't say all of them are able to make it to vol. 13, there are also more stuff that I have not included here.

Thank you!

Can't believe I'm living the dream now. If I were to ask the 'me' from few years ago if this would be possible, the old 'me' would probably have a hard time believing that I'lll be able to work this much personal artworks/content+ personal project, make fanarts of games I lov & enjoy, and also inspires me would be possible.

While I did  tell me myself to persevere, I actually roughly did give myself a deadline that if things didn't work out, things will have to change and I might not be here as of this day creating content like these. That's just the harshness of reality, after all, one needs to work to make a living. That's why I'm really grateful for your support who made it possible for me continue.

To be able to make these 12 volumes of personal artworks. Really a big thank you for making it happen!

Also a bunch of fun emojis!

What's in store for 2021

Working on the artbook for a long, I can say that I have somewhat have a grasp now of where to take or what its content to be.

During 2020, I spend most of time working  and figuring out the artbook series, for this year, I'm looking into properly integrating a time to work on my personal project Draknier Story, although there will be a shift with the pipeline/process/progression, the main end goal is the same.

Occasional stream, I failed to do one before the year ends, hopefully, I'll be able to do more this year. I'm also exploring options what could be possibly be fun or entertaining to watch.

There are just many things I want to do & create now that I have this opportunity, so please look forward to it!

Content Delivery Schedule for January

Artbook delivery will resume on 2021 and it will be the 13th artbook which will release on the 1st week of January. I might also combine a jrpg emojis update if I can.

3rd week will be a draknier story update(Details below).

3 New Emojis Added

Celica - Hmph
Tron Bonne - Hohoho
Fiora - Hello

Commission

Sorry for delay always! Hopefully, by 2nd or 4th week, I'll be able to accept application, at least for the protagonists/supporters first before the inquires from the public list. For now, I'm focusing on artbook vol. 13 so I'll be able to deliver it on time.

Unlike in the past where I'm planning to dedicate a certain period for only doing commission even at the expense of possibly pausing the patreon, albeit slow, I'll be attempting to work through the list on the side while I continue to work on the patreon content.

Draknier Story Update

There's a lot to cover so I'll be doing a merged update of the previous topics to cover & the january update which will be on 3rd week of January.

A tid bit about the update is that, there will be a bit of shift in the progression & pacing, while the project continues to retain its original end goal.

2020 taught me a lot especially with figuring out how much time and resources doing for each specific task.

The original goal of the artbook is to be something of a sketchbook with a few colored artworks, although it evolve into something much more bigger which I am happy to do so as its also a way for me to deliver more content while I work on the drakneir story on the side.

Conclusion

I had many plans & work-in-progress(not just the artwork wips) stuff for content from 2020, although I can't show them yet until I am really sure that I'll be deliver it not long after I announce those it.

I'd say that there were a lot of stuff I was not able to do and also deliver, I already was expecting a downfall, but I can't believe many still stay to continue to support me or hang around the community, so thank you to everyone who continues to support me & those who supported me in the past! All I can say is I'll continue to do my best, work harder, play harder(more games to increase the option for fanart materials), grow my skill as an artist/content creator, bring in more discoveries and fun stuff, & to inspire!

Onwards to 2021, lets look forward to more fun stuff (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و

Art of Gofelem - Book Vol. 12

Hello to my protagonists & everyone else, Thank you very much for being patient with me despite the long wait. There were a lot of things going on for me during this November that I wanted to talk about in this post, but I decided that I might as well write a separate post about it at some point alongside commission details & etc.

Regardless of those factors, I really wanted to put time on working on this artbook as this is the last artbook for this year . So I hope the artbook will be deserving of the patience you gave me, thank you again very much especially to my protagonists for continuing to support me despite my tardiness (人´∀`)! !

Artbook Vol. 12 will be the Final Volume This Year, Patreon monthly billing cycle will be paused for 2 months, On why will be the patreon paused, Plans + Preparation + Schedule for Next Year, Draknier Story Development Issues & Resolution, Commission, and The Future of My Patreon

Hallooooo everyone~!
There's a lot for me to talk about, so I'll break them down into small segments.

Artbook Vol. 12 Will Be The Final Artbook for 2020
Volume 12 which will cover the october 1st charge which will be the final artbook for this year.

Patreon Monthly Billing Cycle will be Paused for 2 Months
For November & December, there will be no jrpg artbook & jrpg emoji released, but it doesn't mean I'll stop working on the artbooks. In fact, I'll still be working both on November & December so that I can prepare for January & succeeding months.

Why I'm pausing the patreon for 2 months is because of the following:

1)Taking what I've learned with my patreon during this 1 year of doing artbook & revising plans for the schedule of the content
During this almost 1 year of making the artbook monthly series alongside the other content, I've experienced & learned many things so I would like to use this 2 months when I paused the billing cycle to plan and prepare when I resume making content on January.

Working hard isn't just enough anymore, I have to properly plan a schedule, so I can continue to be healthy and be able to continue working & deliver the content.

I've given a lot of thought when it comes to schedule, although nothing is finalized yet, for
next year, I'm still considering if I'll go with:

a) 1 month of paused  billing cycle (break) for every 3 months of content delivery (9 months of content)

b)  2 months (break) for every 4 months of content delivery (8 months of content)

I might also consider other options that I may come up with while I prepare during this coming Nov. & Dec.

During the break, I'm not really using it to rest for the whole time, but use most of that time to prepare content for the coming months, this is so I can hopefully avoid too much crunch and deliver content on time.

For when I resume next year, I was originally considering 3 updates per month,

1st week - FREE or Artbook ContentDelivery

2nd week - FREE or Artbook Content Delivery

3rd week -  JRPG emojis

4th week - Draknier Story Update

However, I felt that might felt spammy to the supporters with email notification so I'm
considering if I should combine it with artbook update or just do a stealth update & also announce it in discord.

1st week - FREE or Artbook ContentDelivery

2nd week - FREE or Artbook Content Delivery

3rd week -  FREE

4th week - Draknier Story Update

And yes, I'm planning to go back with monthly update with Draknier Story if everything goes well! More details below.

In short, I'm pausing the patreon monthly charge so I can work in advance.

I'm also planning to make a personal schedule for next year, that for every day in a week, there is a certain task. For example, on Wednesday, I dedicate it to making an artwork, and on other certain day/time, I do studies, game dev, recreation, and so on.

It'll probably be a challenge to adapt especially early on, but I'll give my best until I get used to it.

2) My Physical & Mental Health
When it comes to physical health, while I love doing the content, it's really taken a toll on me for doing this 1 year straight. I've been going with a  much more unhealthy lifestyle as I've pretty much crunched most of the during this this year.

When it comes to mental  health, it's more of a burnout thing. While I can logically try my best to remain optimistic, my brain at times just doesn't go the same way which leads to losing focus & getting slow with productivity, leading to possible delays, and these delays cause a lot of stress & anxiety as I worry for my supporters waiting longer.

Short rest/breaks do me no good as there is the feeling of a ticking time bomb behind my head which gets louder when I try to take breaks or do recreational activity. In most cases, I actually end up crunching more later on. Also the feeling that I wasted time doing those that I could use to work on the content, which makes me feel tense most of the time.

At this pace, It'll only get ore difficult & I'd rather not get sick especially during this hard times due to the ongoing pandemic, and to further cause problems & worries to my family supporters, & everyone else.

3) I Need a Little Bit of 'Real' Rest
Although I did say I'm planning to continue work on Nov. and Dec. for next year's preparation, I also really want to take some real break to rest and relax. Probably around a week or less after I finish Vol. 12, hopefully by the end of October.

The Current Trouble of Working on the Artbook & Draknier Story (Game Dev Project) this past year and how to tackle it going forward
When it comes to my game dev project, to be honest, it's been hard to allocate time for it. If I were to ratio the artbook and gamedev project, i'd estimate it's probably about 95: 5 out of 100 hours , with 95% time spent on artbook and 5%(or might be even less) for gamedev.

Originally, my plan for my artbook before I started with Volume 1 was something more of a sketchbook with a few simple colored artwork & mostly filled with sketch, although as what we can see, the artbook pretty much evolve into something much much more.

With each volume I release, I aim to improve the content so I can give back more, however, at the same time, I get more supporters and this sets an expectation for me as a creator & the supporters, a cycle that is growing, something akin to a balloon. And with that cycle, the more time is taken from the game dev and put into the artbook instead. I pretty much went full throttle when doing the artbook and if there are extra time remaining, I've thought of working on the game dev, which is actually pretty much non-existent.

When it comes to making artwork, I usually approach it with "put more hours to make it better" rather than "rushing", however as I mentioned before, It's getting harder in my situation especially in long term. So I've been looking into things on how to improve the situation, and I pretty much came up with "do more study, learn & grow whenever possible" as It's the best option I could think off without putting the other content at risk of being remove or altered not for the better. So I've been trying to study & learn more while drawing artworks such as improving the foundation, experimenting different techniques & methods for every chance that I get.

The more I improve, the better the artworks, and the faster I can make artworks.
Also to set a ceiling for the artbook content in which my experience of making artbook for almost a year will also be a good reference when I work on the plan this november & december.

Artbook occupied most of the allocated time for Draknier Story
The thing is, while I intend to make the artbook more of a recreational as I work on this game dev, it became the other way around. While I am happy with the works I've done, I am  not confident to show my progress to my supporters, particularly to my old/founding supporters, whom have supported & stayed with me since the beginning & help me reach this far as I've probably set the expectation too high when I mentioned about a bulk update. While I did consider making big changes to my patreon content, I had to abstain from it as the monthly artbook became more than something I expected and pretty much plays a big part in the community and something I truly love to do.

About Draknier Story (Game Dev Project)
No, I haven't give up on my project, I've been working on it for every little chance I can.

Draknier Story pretty much became a strength(source of inspiration), but also became a great weakness of mine. It pains when someone ask about draknier story, not because of them asking, but me, whom more than anyone, really want to work on it & to share more about it.

This is a personal project and the final result is just a means to the end. What I love about doing this project is this gives me an opportunity to study & learn.. I love to learn despite the challenges. I want to learn and improve with 3D and associated technicals with it, programming, music, and etc. And this is a medium I chose to tell my stories.
Learning 3D really also benefits my 2D skills and also the other way around.

At one point I did consider maybe making it as a novel, manga, or webtoon just so I can deliver it consistently to my supporter just like with the artbook, however I had to reconsider as that will defeat the purpose of my patreon & everything I've done so far.

I also did consider if maybe I should just remove the highlight of that I am working on a jrpg-inspired game dev project here in my patreon and work on it low key.

I have a strong obsession with my Draknier Story project, it's something I always think about when I sleep, I listen to music, bath, and play games on daily basis. I just want to put more time to work on it. Hence, is one of the big reason I'm doing this big update. It's also been a big source of motivation/inspiraton.

With the new schedule I'm planning, I'm also putting back the monthly update for my game dev project when I resume next year.

For Draknier Story's Upcoming Update
Somewhere in November or December, I'm thinking of posting the character design/3d sheet for the main casts (4). Some more details about the game, technical update on why the art direction is going this way and my learnings so far such as why I am using this method to create the 3d models, etc..

And also the plans for it.

Original artwork I've been doing in the artbook will most likely be taken over by Draknier Story Artwork
I sometimes do random original art in the artbooks, however, going forward, I want to include Draknier Story artworks instead. Hence the reason why I'm also planning to pose the character designs. If I'm making a fanart of my own game, I'm not sure what to call that.

I find this one of the best way to deliver and probably express or tell more about these Draknier Story characters while the game is still under development.

Will there be no activity in patreon for 2 months?
There will be activities as usual , I'll continue to post WIPs, post the Draknier Story update, and etc. I'll also continue to be around our discord and other social platform (twitter, etc.) like usual.

Commission (Personal Commission - Patreon Supporters Priority)
I'll also take this opportunity to open commission as I've already delayed it for far too long, I'll be prioritizing the patreon supporters who will commission me for personal artwork. For commercial, it may depend as I will ask for estimate deadlines before I approve the commission application.

Pausing patreon for 2 months means not earning anything for 2 months which is pretty much a huge blow for me as patreon has been the main source of my income & livelihood. Hence one of the reason commission will also be open to help recoup the missing income and fulfill the overdue commission opening, two birds with one stone.

I'll be making n new patreon post when I open the commission.

Better Equipment in the Future
My PC is also getting close to a decade old so I've been planning to save up to build new PC and that will also allow me to paint/draw artworks more smoothly since I experience  slowdown/lags/technical issues/crash in a number of cases and also couldn't use some tools (photoshop brush/smudge. etc at certain situation).

Also for stream/video recording, there's really a slowdown/strong lag in most cases, especially when I draw in a big canvas (HD resolution of the artwork, about 4k).

It will also serve as failure-proof should my current PC fail and continue to make content.

Why I can't enable Upfront Charge for new Patrons/Supporters
I can't enable this feature since it will complicate & make it much more difficult with the way I send the rewards especially with the new plan I'm planning to implement (A more early release, 1st or 2nd week instead of the final week/day of a month).

If patreon ever implement a feature where there is an option to have a single post with multiple level of access, that would change things and allow me to reconsider upfront charge so new patreons can get access immediately, however it is not practical to make multiple posts for each tier to give rewards as of this moment.

Still, the thing is I won't be able to include the 'credit' reward after the artbook is already published so waiting until you get charged would be better if one wants to be in the credit reward.

Stream Before the Year Ends(?)
I keep failing trying to start a stream, but before the year ends, I'll try my best to find a chance as both Nov. & Dec. are the best opportunity I have.

The Future of My Patreon
It's all good! Going forward, I'll still continue to make an artbook  & other content every month starting next year.

Thank you for sparing some of your time despite this post being long. There were a lot of things I wanted to address.

And thank you for supporting and sticking with me this long. Even if you are no onger supporting me or haven't supported me, just being around is more than enough.

I'll continue to give my best and try harder to be more diligent!

Take care & I hope you have a great day!

p.s. I'm not going in hiatus, I'll be here to continue working & prepare 。^‿^。.

Some Colored/Painted WIPs, asking for more days to work on the artworks for Vol.9, & physical strain/pain

Hello my Protagonists!
Once again, I'm asking for a few more days to work on the artworks. I really wanted to do more polish on some of them.

Some of the artworks can be considered 'done', but I really wanted to do more to improve them.

These past few days has been a bit slower for me due to a physical pain I'm experiencing recently from around my trapezius(the back and near the shoulder) towards the back of the neck which also gives me a bit of headache at times.
Fortunately, I don't use a display tablet to draw since it will require you to lean over or angle your head & that will most likely cause me to feel pain/strain faster considering that I draw in very long hours.

Never experienced this kind of physical strain before, It could also be due to my age finally catching on me & acting up *chuckles*.

I've also been working on something that I can't announce yet, the live stream will benefit a lot from it, but it will most likely also affect all of the platforms I use (Art related). And another one is I'm still also working on draknier story(game dev) too.

For now, I'll continue give my best to make it worth the wait, apologies for the delay again (๑´ㅂ`๑)!

Thank you again for your support, be safe, & have a great day (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و

Artbook Volume 9's Theme poll

Hello my Protagonists ヽ(^Д^)ノ!

Now that I've released artbook Vol. 8, I can finally make this poll I've been planning for a while. I'm considering making Volume 9 a 'summer theme', meaning, plenty of swimsuit. Although, I'm also considering a countryside sort of summer theme added there(?).

So this means you will see the JRPG & Videogame character fanarts I'll draw in different outfit.

If the character that I'll draw has already an existing official summer clothing design, I will either take that design as reference or still make my own spin/original design ٩(^ᴗ^)۶

Please cast your vote & help decide the theme for the next artbook (´∀`)

Asking for an extra 2-3 days to work on Vol. 8 + Work-In-Progress, Stream test planning & schedule, What new fanarts to look forward to, Thank you my supporters for the opportunity ü

Asking for an extra 2-3 days to work on Vol. 8 (Release date on  2nd or 3rd of july)
Hello again my protagonists! I would like to ask for an extra 2-3 days to work on Vol. 8 as I need more time for it. Sorry again for the usual delay I've made you accustomed to (´∀`;).

Some of the work-in-progress above ^

Ocassional anime fanart temptation
Also feeling a bit tempted to sometimes ocassionally draw my favorite anime characters. I'm not sure if I'll include them in the artbook, but I might as well & just treat them as extras (as I'll probably only draw like very few or just a single one)? Just like for the coming months, I presume that I'll feel tempted to draw my favorite character Rem from Re:Zero (ᗒᗨᗕ)
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

June has been a busy month for me, adding to it that I also tried to finish playing both Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Vanilla replay) & XC2: Torna ~ the golden country for the first time. Now that I finished & looked carefully into them, please look forward to more fanart from those games that I'll make at some point. Brighid has been growing on me more. Also Lora & Haze are great! Want to find the chance to draw them ü .

Stream test
I'm planning to do some stream testing again, hopefully somewhere in July. I am still not sure whether it will be on youtube & twitch. The former seems appealing to me as it directly archives the stream & no need for me to worry about downloading from twitch & uploading with my limited internet.

I'll make a poll when I decided a schedule for the stream if what u think is the ideal stream duration for you.

Schedule clarification for new patrons/protagonists/supporters
Artbook Vol. 8 is suppose to released before the June ends(June 1st charge), but once again, I am very late.

So, what'll happen is that July 1st will be charged, and that will be for Volume 9. I'll try my best to be not late this month, I think I've pooled enough work-in-progress artworks, unless I end up making new artwork again (´∀`;)

For this situation, I've made a visual representation to make it less confusing on my FAQ, please check it. If you are still confuse, please feel free to contact me anytime.

Future fanarts to look forward to
Also, I finally got these two! I got Trials of Mana for a good deal & Tokyo mirage session used (I often buy my games used or on sale to save some money). Tokyo Mirage Session is something I've always wanted since it's reveal on Wii U, unfortunately, never got my hands on Wii U since I went for 3ds instead which thankfully led me to FE: Awakening being my first 3ds game & sparked my love for the FE series.

Also Trials of Mana! Impression-wise, Angela & Riesz both looks interesting to me & i'll most likely like them when I get to play the game, so please look forward to fanart of Angela & Riesz at some point (๑´ㅂ`๑). Both TMS & ToM are on my priority list to play so I can draw fanart of characters i'll like after I played them.

Although, the next game I'm planning to play is Fire Emblem Echoes & then either Zelda: Breath of the Wild or Astral Chain. First impression of Celica, I think it's a character i'll like so I'll most likely make a fanart of her. Catria's design is also great here! And there's the Manakate, I think she was called  'Mila'? I find her interesting from what I've accidentally seen & just love Manaketes or FE Dragon girls in general (´∀`).

As for Zelda, I love Zora so it's really interesting how the Zora differ here compared to Ocarina of Time / Majora's mask. I like Mipha's design the moment I saw it & really want to know the character when I play BotW.

Anyway, please look forward to the fanart from the games I mentioned above after I've
played them.

Thank you Protagonists/Supporters
And a really big THANK YOU for allowing me this opportunity to be able to have these games, if it weren't for your support, I can't imagine getting these games especially the switch ones this soon. I might not have even bought a switch last year & probably stick with my 3ds & couldn't share with you the excitement we can have with these games 。^‿^。. I'll try my best to find & make time to play these jrpgs ( و ๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و

It's actually the first console I have experience being so up to date & sharing that experience w/ fellow fans which felt surreal to me. Thank you again ü!

I'll keep trying my best to make great & fun content for you (´∀`)
That's all for the update today, stay safe & I hope you have a wonderful day! Feel free to contact me anytime you have a concern ü.

Artbook Vol. 7 Release Date, Update About New Taxes from US protagonists (EU already seems to have this long before), Personal Message to leaving & staying supporters

Hello my Protagonists!

Artbook Release Date
Artbook Vol. 7 will release tomorrow ٩(^ᴗ^)۶!

New Patreon Tax Thing
Also, just a heads up, there's a new tax law thing going with patreon for US(But it's not really a new thing for EU supporters as patreon have already implemented this before for them which I honestly did not understand before why others have the exact charge on that tier compared to others).

So before the charge cycle occurs on June 1. I wanted to let you know just in case you want to make adjustment, modify your tiers, cancel your pledge, share some thoughts or something. https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043054911-New-Sales-Tax-Requirements-effective-July-1st-2020

Edit: Seems like it will start on July 1st instead of June 1 which I missed(´∀`;)

Personal Message To My Supporters/Protagonists That Are Leaving & Staying
Dealing with tax is a pain so I understand if I lose some supporters due to this. Regardless, I am very thankful for your support! Even if you stop supporting, you've helped me plenty enough & all I can say is I'll continue to give my best & deliver what I can!

Also I'd be happy if you would please continue to hang around our discord, my twitter, or somewhere in our community, our bonds & connection are not only due to the money you are supporting me with 。^‿^。

And for those staying to support me, thank you very much for the continued support༶ඬ༝ඬ༶! Lots of things are going on right now around the world and adding this patreon tax thing, so thank you for staying with me. While I keep working on my artbooks, I am also continuing to think & make plans to make content that could be fun for everyone. I've also been working on other stuff too such as the Draknier Story.

I Want To Stream A Lot Someday With You Guys
Streaming is the one thing I'm really looking into, but there are technical, environmental, and hardware hurdles I have to overcome first to fully do that consistently. Someday, I want to have a sort of lobby for you guys to hang around while seeing me do stuff, such  as while working on the artbook/artworks, playing jrpgs or multiplayer game, game dev, or even just to talk around while listening to the nostalgic music.

That's all pretty much what I can say ofr now, once again, thank you for everything & for supporting me. Please stay safe everyone & have a wonderful day (´∀`)!
