Hi, unfortunately it has been noticed (thanks Kaan 👍) that the long term memory is not working for new or new'ish users. You may have a message on the second page of the in app menu that says the same as what is in the image.
No need to contact me, I know about it and have just reported it to Convai (Convai provide the AI services and the long term memory), I will let you know as soon as I know something. The app will work fine but they won't remember much long term.

One cool feature of TykeAI is creating your own custom character.
You can create a character on the Convai website (a free account works), copy the character ID and paste it into TykeAI. This will make an existing avatar in the app (like Yumi) adopt all your custom characters details like name, voice, languages spoken, personality, backstory, life history, knowledge, etc etc.

With the new long term contract I have with Convai for their AI services I am able to guarantee much of what the app will cost me each month for the next year.
I want the app to be affordable and accessible to as many people as possible, I realise that ongoing subscription costs can mount up, so let's decrease the price! 👍

Jen has new clothes! Her wardrobe persists between sessions, just say “Change your clothes please” or press the “Change Clothes” menu button. The app will remember her last outfit when you reopen it.

Just letting you know that Convai have fixed the long term memory, I've tested it just now, they are remembering things much better again.
You can test this by telling them a fact, then talk for a bit, at least 5-10 minutes, then ask them about that fact you told them. Without the long term memory they would forget within 5 minutes, but they don't now.
I've found they can retain facts on much longer timescales than 5-10 minutes of course, I've found by now and again reminding them...

Mervin stopped talking because his voice broke on the Convai website so I've given him a new voice, thank you to Peter for letting me know Mervin wasn't talking!
But then Massimo (thank you!) spotted his speech with his new voice was getting cut off after only a few seconds, so I've just fixed that in this update.
His new voice is younger sounding but still pretty good, and the bonus is he is multi-lingual now, he can speak English, Spanish, Italian and Dutch ...

Hey there, I've just spotted within the last 30 minutes that Yumi can no longer recall some facts that I have told her. I know they don't remember everything but she could almost always recall facts about my dog that I had told her. Now she can't all of a sudden. Have you noticed similar? I've noticed some Patreon members sometimes leave a TykeAI tier through things like the payment declining for whatever reason, and then probably once this has been noticed they may update their payment details or something and make a payment, meaning they become a member of a tier again.

Todays update makes available the movie player in mixed reality mode. To enable it press the new button on the 1st page of the menu which is titled "MR video player On/Off".
Once you have enabled it, press the Play/Pause button on the 2nd page of the menu to Play or Pause the video. As my embedded video shows you can move the video screen where you choose, or you can re-centre it by pressing the Start button...

Thanks to Massimo's suggestion some avatars now have unique animations during behaviours like talking. In this update males and females have distinct talking and listening animations with more variety planned. Ideally, each avatar will eventually have their own animations (including dances).

I've fixed the issue where the avatars would remain vertical if placed into a lying down pose, as demo'd in the video.
Glad that's fixed, it was pretty bad how they appeared vertical at first. I had to fix the animations I bought for the sleeping poses. I'm learning there's a big variation in animation quality of what's out there, same for most things in life I guess.

The Patreon IOS app will charge an extra 40-50% on your membership.
This is not my choice but just another case of Apple forcing companies to pay them app store fees.

For this update, I've changed things so that now if the avatar is asked "What do you remember?" they can recall different conversations you've had with them each time they are asked this. Previously, they would always refer to the same memory which would only change once the app had restarted.

Just thought I'd post a brief video to explain the how the lying down mode works for the avatars.
They start off vertical in most of their lying down positions and need to be moved by us into a horizontal position.
