Some rigging updates.

Hey, it's Dogson here, sorry for the silence since last update, had to clear some things out and I've been busy doing some work on preparations for the first interaction build, like these improved shoulders.

Next step is to try to improve the way the groin and glutes works on various poses.

I'm also going to post a preview of the first bear head and the templates for it followed by a small content release with them in it. I can already tell you that the panda head will most probably have to be it's own mesh since it doesn't deform well enough that we can't avoid glaring artifacts on, but I much rather have the seperate head then to compromise the quality too much.

News + Release notes

Hi all!

New content release introducing two new heads - Stylized3 and Cartoonfox2b.

As you may know, we're in the process of implementing animation/interaction systems for FurryVNE. While we're developing these systems, we're providing new content builds such as this in the meantime (that are being worked on in parallel w/o affecting the progress of the interaction systems).

The next dev log

Roughly speaking, we've been releasing dev logs about every 3 months. As the last dev log was in Jan, we're expecting the next one to be around April, but it may release later (or even earlier, depending on how things go).

We think the next dev log will be our last before interactions are released, and we intend it to include a "live" demonstration of them, explaining in great detail how these new systems work and how to use them. So essentially a demonstration/tutorial of interactions that should hopefully prepare you for the release and get some ideas going.

As we're getting closer to an interactions release, dogson may have to spend more time preparing everything to work with interactions, meaning he'll have less time over for content builds. So just a heads up - we may not have that many more content builds left before intereactions are released.

SDF Bug

As we pointed out in the latest dev log, the supposed SDF bug fix that was part of Unity 2021.3.16f didn't actually work, so we immediately submitted a new bug report with the newest version of Unity. Now, that issue has been confirmed.

Here's the bug ticket. You know the drill (please vote on it):

While we do have our own baker that I think we'll use for some parts of the app no matter what (even if this bug fix becomes available), the Unity baker would still be beneficial to have in some circumstances. Getting our hands on this bug fix will mean interactions can be released sooner, so please vote.

Merry Xmas!

Hi all!

We wish you all have a nice and relaxing time with friends and family during this holiday.

As we wrote in our previous text, the intent was to release the new dev log about soft bodies before Christmas. We will however need a few more days for this (and there's a very good reason for it, something we will cover in detail in the dev log).

Next estimate is somewhere between Christmas and New Year's Eve. (The next build with the surprise head should arrive sometime around there as well.)

Second Hyena head or an overhaul of the old one?

Hey all, Dogson here.

So reintroducing both teeth and noses on our heads since the Fennec back in May of 2022 we got positive feedback on it with people saying it has saved them a lot of head ace with setting up new characters with them.

There's a lot of heads I've done that does have that and the Hyena is one of them.

So I'm curious of hearing what you guys would like to see, a update of this current one we have now (with the full understanding that you may have to do some seeing over and change some bits once the updated one is out) or would You like to see a new, second one be created later on?

(Current voted heads from the head polls, in this case Bears, will have priority first of all, of course but as a job I can do later on or when time allows)

Small update

Hi all, hope you're doing well!

I wanted to make a quick update sharing how things are going.

As most of you may know, I'm currently working on integrating a custom soft body engine into FurryVNE. This work has been more problematic than I anticipated, but we're finally reaching the last stages of its implementation, and I think you are going to be quite excited once I finally do release footage of it.

Our intent is to have the next video dev log out before Christmas, sharing our development and of course showcasing the new soft body technology in detail. However, since the last bits of this tech depend on SDF baking functioning properly, we're at the mercy of Unity actually releasing Unity 2021.3.16 LTS (which contains the much anticipated bug fix for runtime SDF baking). So the video dev log may or may not come out before Christmas, it all depends.

If you're not a patron, be sure to keep an eye out on my Twitter, where I post shorter media summaries of our progress and where I will post a video demonstration of our new soft body tech.

We also intend to have a new content release out sometime this week, as well as another content release with a surprise head closer to Christmas.

Wait a minute, how did this get here?

Sorry ya'll, I'm a weak willed simp for mama *cries*

Sat down today and tried to take a look at the cartoon goat head. Ended up creating a brand new head resembling a model I did a while ago.

*A important note: I cannot guarantee that this head will make it in to this coming release as we're already up to three heads and they need shapes and all.

But the ground work is done and it will most likely come in the next release after this one.

Croc/Gatorhead #1 WIP

Dogson here with work in progress shot of the first Croc/Gatorhead.

I'll be honest and say these crocodilian was a rather rough one to do and a lot of early iterations just didn't look any good and they looked disapointing (much thanks to the fact I've never ever done a gator before) so I've descided to let my inintial though of a gator head branch of each other and let them be their own thing.

The first one out is is this quite feral and mean looking head but there's no denial that it's a crocodilian we're looking at here, don't you think?

I think this head will be quite ideal for antagonist characters later on? :D

Will later post second head with a less feral and striking crocodilian feel to it when I feel it's okay enough to show.

Next head after Croc (UPDATED)

Update: Hello, this is a reupload of the head poll after Patreon has reconfigured the poll to be non multiple choice by default just recently w/o making it obvious *annoyed grunt*  and the non multiple choice was NOT popular last time we tried.
Sorry for the inconvenience, the older head poll will be deleted soon.

Same as before, but with some changes; Dolphin is back and Elephant has been pushed out because we first need to solved how additional bones can be added to heads with our bone hierarchy in the code, and we don't need more problems to solve before first interaction alpha is released.

More Feet Content. 3 Toed Plantigrade with extra shapes

A simple cartoony 3 toed plantigrade foot, with a two shapes that are there to test out if it works to have them in Body -> Body Type -> Tweakables.
High Heels shape is more of a general shape that isn't as steep as Tippy Toe shape
