Just a quick reassurance update regarding shipping!

Cutting to the chase, if anyone hasn't received the 1942 Special yet (which is several of you!), I'll send another copy to those affected when the next issue comes out.

I'll send out another message nearer the time of the next issue shipping to get info on who didn't receive it yet so that I can bundle them both together.

Royal Mail recently had strike action, and immediately after, 'suffered a cyber attack.' They're now claiming that has made them stop shipping things ...

Weekend WIP update - 22/01/2023

Happy Chinese New Year - the Year of the Rabbit! 

This is the current state of the zine - page layouts (the most time-consuming part) are mostly finished, and while the text hasn't been placed yet, it's (relatively speaking) the easiest part and is all in my head. Some pages might get replaced with artwork, depending on how things go.

I haven't made the cover for the upcoming issue yet, but the year of the rabbit will likely be the theme for 2023 - look forward to it!

Doki Doki Vacation updates - Jan 13th 2023

Tango date: Friday the 13th, 2023. The Doki Doki situation is getting out of control. 

My PC is now rebuilt, all files have been transferred, and I have discovered the power of using Text to Speech to make short update videos.

A silly video while I upgrade my PC!

I'm currently waiting on a new hard drive which won't be here til Sunday, so here's a thing I made on a whim until it comes!

Beyblade, a game about tapping B a few times and then hoping that you win, has a frustratingly long non-interactive sequence, and this kind of thing always makes me want to quit a game and do something else before it even starts.

Most of this video is sped up to 200% speed.

WIP - Pages 1-9 of Doki Doki Vacation coverage

The first WIP update! This is what I've been working on over the Christmas break - loosely translating Doki Doki Vacation to cover it in an upcoming issue.

I'm nine zine pages in and have only written about the first chapter of six, if the artbook is anything to go by, despite being a relatively short visual novel. Hopefully the pace will pick up now that I've gone over the systems and mechanics.

1942 Special shipping soon!

I just got the prints in the mail and will get them shipped as soon as I can!

The shipping will be before Christmas, but I expect the issues won't turn up at people's houses until January due to Royal Mail strikes and the busy Christmas post.

As always, any new subscribers to the physical tier will get the latest issue posted to them whenever they join, so there's never a time when you'll be 'too late' to join!

I'll be sending it to print, then shipping it out during this month - but be aware that due to Christmas Post plus Royal Mail strikes, it might not arrive until January.

Apologies for this taking an extra week - Life is hectic, as always. Here's a cover preview!

I'm currently converting everything into magazine format to send to printers as I type this, so the current timeframe is around a week to receive the finalised zines back from the printing company. Then I'll get them all shipped out ASAP.

Struggling, but getting there!

There's a chance the next issue might be delayed a week or two, I'm not sure yet- so in the meantime, I thought I'd post some imagery to distract you all!

I'm a big fan of zine pages having a subtle 'texture' to their overall design, which is usually obtained by having a vague semi-transparent hint of a screenshot in the background.

In Issue 14, I started trialling AI-generated imagery for background texture use. Nobody commented on it, which is a good sign- it's not meant to draw...

Brief info on Patreon's new payment date

Just a heads up for everyone - It won't affect any existing subscribers, and is a good thing for new subscribers.

Patreon is finally allowing people to be charged every month from their join date.

Existing members won't see any changes - their 'join date' is set to the 1st of each month, just like before.

New members will be charged one month later from when they actually joined.

Just putting out this post in case there's any confusion when hearing that Pat...

itch.io connection - Patreon members can unlock PDFs on itch.io now!

I've put the very first issue of TangoPunk on itch.io, and have noticed it has an option for Patreon supporters to get access to the downloads... so here we are!

Click the link above, and if you're a Patreon member, it should allow you to add the issue to your itch.io account.  Only the first issue is available right now, I'm trying to make the itch.io pages look pretty so I'll add further issues whenever I have a little spare time.

Zines sent to print, plus some updated PDFs

Issue 14 is now in the hands of the printing company I use!

While we all wait, I ordered some fresh prints of bel--  I mean, fresh prints of Issues 2, 7, and 9 which I had run out of stock of.

I updated a couple of things on the back end for these reprints (bleed and crop areas for printing being the main one), so it's nothing really notable on the end product except for clearer lists of articles on the cover, and a font colour change for Backtrack where it looked okay on ...

It's been a while since the Confuzzled event so I figured I'd give an update on zine progress!  (For the event itself, I give a quick overview of my experience in Issue 13!)

Issue 13 should be out in around two weeks time - one week to finish it up, one week to get it from the printers. 

Back issue tiers will be removed soon.  Don't worry, you'll still be able to get physical back issues, but I'd rather have them on an online store ...
