Status Update Episode 8

This week I had to redo one animation that I wasn't happy with and I also rendered 2 more animations. The animation count is 32 in total, 24 of which are unique.

I can't say for sure that I'm finished with animations yet, but for the time being I'm only rendering static images.

This week I managed to get the total up to 533 and I wrote a lot more of the script, too, as well as other work that goes with wrapping this project up.

Status Update Episode 8

This week was a big one. I'm still rendering animations and as soon as I think I'm close to being done I get inspired to do more.

As I'm writing this I have rendered 22 unique animations, ranging from 1-16 seconds. The current total count is 30 animations, counting speed variations.

Episode 3 had the previous record with 15 unique animations. So, not only is the unique animation count higher, the ones in Episode 8 will also have a higher overall quality.

Status update Episode 8

Another week with essentially posing and rendering of animations. I'm almost done with the animations. I'd say there's a handful left to do.

I've also found some time to pose and render static images this week and I've written more on the script.

The current progress is:
27 animations (19 Unique)
251 renders (30% done...maybe. It's really hard to estimate this as the script isn't finished.)
I estimate the script to be 30-40% finished.

I still can't say how...

Status Update Episode 8

Another week and so much has been done, but there's also so much left to do.

As I said last week, I've been focusing a lot on animations for two weeks now. It's the real bottleneck in game development and I really want to do everything I've planned, that's why I'm doing it first.

I have about 5-10 unique animations left to do. So far 22 (of which 14 are unique) animations have been rendered and the quality is better than usual, thanks to the new graphics card you guys helped me purchase....

Status Update: Episode 8

It's been a good week. I've ensured that the PCs are synched and work together by sharing files etc. I'm still rendering 24/7, but now on two PCs.

I've been doing a lot of animations this week and that will be the focus for next week as well.

Script: I haven't got a feeling of how far I've come yet. Maybe 30%. All I know is that there is a lot left to do.

Status update Episode 8

First off, having a second PC is a dream for me as a dev. You have no idea how much it is helping me. It makes me feel less stressed and boy does it pump out renders. I started rendering Episode 8 a couple of days ago. So far the result is:

119 renders completed
1 animation completed (in 4 hours from now)

Important regarding Ep7

So my upload finger is itching but before I press that button make sure that you have saved your game where you are supposed to save it. At the end of the update with the text that tells you to save the game. I have seen that some have chosen to save at the final choice. Let me state clearly that it may not work to continue your game from that point. The only guarantee is that saving at the black screen that says Episode 6 end will work. PC upgrade

You made it possible for me to buy another PC. That's right, thanks to YOU the rendering process just became 100% more efficient, as I bought a near identical PC.

Status update: Episode 7

Episode 7 status:
Script 99% completed
Renders completed: 363
Animations completed: 10 (8 unique)

This week has mostly been all about animations (200-300 frames have been rendered). And it has been slower than I expected, mainly due to the increase in render quality. But progress is moving along and only 3 animations remain in the queue.

I have also begun writing the final episode of Acting Lessons and already tested that the 22 endings can be reached as intende...

Isabella

I saw some concerns regarding Isabella's chest size. 

That's totally fine, different strokes for different folks.

However, upon reflection and from feedback, I realized that the outfit wasn't the best choice for showing her off.

So, here she is in another outfit. It's the same chest size as in the other picture.

This is how she will appear in the game.

Even if it still is not for you, I wanted to give her a second chance for those of you who were on the fence.

Survey: Favorite character design

In my book, the personality and how a character is written does a lot when choosing a favorite. As you have no clue of who these characters are, this survey can only be based on visual appearance. I'm interested in seeing if there are any trends in what you like. With the exception of a nudge or two on some dials, the character designs are more or less final, but the result will be useful to me in many ways.

Episode 7 status:
Script 98% (Waiting for animations to complete)
Renders completed 337 renders
Animations completed 2 (Equivalent to ~100 renders)

A handful of static renders and 10 unique animations are in the render queue.

It's been no problem keeping a 100% uptime on rendering this week, either. The quality of the renders are slightly higher than usual and some of the scenes take up to ~1.5 hours to render (normally, I seldom render for longer than 40 minute...
