Status update Episode 3

Hi guys!

The last week I've been focusing on optimizing my protocol for renders and I've managed to reduce my render times considerably without losing too much quality. This means I'll be flying a bit faster from now on.

I have counted the number of remaining renders to do and here are the stats:

- 84 renders have not been prepared at all

- 6+ animations have not been prepared at all (I haven't fully decided on a few animations yet)

Status update Episode 3

Hi guys! 

Time for another status update; I'll try to make these posts weekly.

Since my last update I've been working hard on preparing renders and polishing the script. Last time I told you that Episode 3 might be slightly shorter than Episode 2. Forget that, Episode 3 will be about the same length in code but should feel longer due to fewer branches.

The script is 95% done and the completed render count is 311 and 7 (non-lewd) animations. 104 renders and 2 anima...

You may have noticed that the Patreon reward system has been upgraded slightly. All patrons will get access to the patron-only discussion channel which may include sneak peeks of future updates.

Hi guys! While I wait for renders to complete I have a good amount of time to work on some GUI changes and polishing.

One particular negative feedback I have gotten is that it is difficult to know which choices are "correct" or "incorrect" as the player is not given direct points or feedback as they make a choice.

I love the feeling of being surprised by past choices and don't want the result of your choices to be instantaneous. But as a compromise I am thinking of implementing the syste...

Release date Episode 2

Hi everyone! 

I'm excited to inform you that Episode 2 of Acting Lessons will be released for +$5 patreons (+$20 for extra material, animations etc.) on June 1.

For <$5 patreons, the episode will be unlocked after one month on July 1.

Status update and Discord server

 Hey all!

Here's a status update on Episode 2.

As I mentioned before, it will be a big one. I have counted the total renders and animations based on the revised script and the tally for episode 2 is:

- 655 images

- 24 animations (Extra material for +$20 Patreons only)

The current progress is that 467 of the images are completed, 83 images are queued for rendering and 105 images have not yet been prepared.

GUI changes - Feedback is welcome

The script for Episode 2 is finished. While I wait for renders and animations to complete I have worked a bit on the GUI elements in the game. 

- The font is new
- The textbox is 17% lower to allow for more of the image to be seen
- The alignment of the choices is now at the bottom of the screen. This way the choices won't cover any character's face. 

Any thoughts on this? I just want to make sure that you don't find the design or font annoying.

Hi guys, I'm so overwhelmed by the positive response I've been getting from Acting lessons. It has really motivated me to push myself even harder.

The status on Episode 2 is the following:

I just finished setting the music for all scenes. 7 new songs will be included. I still have to look over sound effects.

One thing that I've been struggling with is to set decent Patreon goals to reach throughout this journey. I do realize that 2000 patreons is asking a whole lot, but voice acting is a profession and it costs a lot to commit to a voice actor/actress; especially when you want it to be high quality acting.

I'm working hard on Episode 2. Currently I already have finished 150+ renders and one animation for it. The script is about 70% done  with 3200 lines of Ren'Py dialogue/code. Episode 1 was about 2900 lines of code, so Episode 2 will definitely be longer.
