Next month, we'll attempt to transition to Unreal Engine 5.7 to see if we get more stability and some quality of life tools for rendering more efficiently. Mostly to hopefully have less crashes and remove some very repetitive tasks from our workflow.

This release has been a lot of fun, even though we had to fight with Unreal crashing or suddenly behaving unexpectedly π, but we're happy about our setup for a volley of projectiles!

Dear patrons!
After much deliberation, we have decided not to publish a release this month.
It means that you will not be charged for july. We just thought we'd let you know and reassure you that we're back at work and eager.
There are so many VFX and side-projects that we'd like to re-visit, we might even publish two releases next month, depending on how far along we get!

We're quite happy about the new blueprint we made in Unreal for Niagara particle systems to follow splines.
So we've finally made our first "burrowing creature" animation as a ranged asset to go with the "burrow-out" animation we made a while ago.
Looking forward to finishing this elusive melee setup in Unreal. In the meantime, we dug up the Blender project to add some new melee animations.

It's a priviledge to realize how much impact we have on the VTT scene.
Slight issue for the "Only New Stuff" zips... Probably because of how many files there are in it.
That's because we've converted more than 300 webms from VP9 to VP8 on top of the new assets for this release. Our Command line to create a differential between two Github commits did not like that apparently... π

We grossly underestimated the amount of work that was required to adapt our melee animations from Blender to Unreal Engine. π
And despite spending many days on it, we just don't have enough assets this month to really "justify" a paid release like the ones we usually deliver.
Even though the "Per Creation" system on Patreon would allow us to do so, we decided it was best not to publish anything rather than perhaps making you feel "cheated" or "short-changed" with ...

This month, we busied ourselves in Unreal Engine with figuring out why the anti-aliasing was messing with our timings and why there was a discrepency between the niagara preview and what we could see in the level.
