An even smaller Dragon update

I have been working on the animation; I have the background, lighting and gear roughed out and ready to go, but just as I was about to start the actual animating I decided to stop and make a quick update to the dragon to fix something that's been bugging me for a long time. Ever since I made him, his bits have been way too far back. While I honestly don't mind it aesthetically, it does make it rather difficult for him to get up on top of my other characters to do his business... even...

A little Birb update

It looks like this month's animation is going to feature the birb, so I thought I'd swing by his model and give it a few little tweaks and updates. The foot-ribbons have become a pretty core part of his character at this point, so it seemed like it was about time to get those in there, and I also made him his bandana while I was at it. Since I did that little sketch of Sy painting his talons pink a while back, I decided to work that in as well.

July Painting - Vote! (Redo)

Whoops! Sorry, had to remake these polls; Patreon went and switched the  default poll mode from allowing multiple votes to only allowing one vote per person without me noticing. I think allowing multiple is probably the fairest way so I'm setting it up again with that enabled.

(This is probably going to happen several times until I get used to it. D: )

Cheetah's Playground

Me and Pojodan have been talking about making something again for ages, so I decided to squeeze in one more animation commission. Since I've been experimenting with more stylized fur lately, it also seemed like a good excuse to experiment with more stylized backgrounds, and here's the result of my fiddling around with that. Gotta say, I'm liking it so far. :P

The best bit; rendering this scene takes all of 10 seconds. Mmm, that's the good stuff.

Nothing Wasted - bigger version

It occurred to me that I could post this here, so I probably should huh? I also happened to have a bigger version laying around... I noticed the files were unnecessarily large when it finished rendering so when I posted it to FA I scaled it down to better suit a 1080p monitor, but if you're one of the folks rocking a 1440 or 4K, maybe you'll get some better use out of this one.

It's Tough on Top

This month's animation has finished, but with my new plan to release videos at the start of each month instead of at the end, it's a little too early to post it anywhere. However, due to this month's scene being a little softer than the usual I can actually post it here, so I guess y'all get some advanced viewing! It's almost like I'm running a real Patreon or something, ha. Check out the attached video if you wanna see it!

A shiny new pearl necklace

You voted to see the maned wolf ride the beast, so here we go! A test render from this month's animation- by pure chance the fluids in this one happened to form a lovely little pearl necklace for Tahlia here. I figured that since I had already rendered this frame out to test, I might as well toss it up as a teaser; it's a pretty nice image if I do say so myself!

Bit of a spoiler for the animation I suppose, but the description you all voted for kinda gave it away too so you should have...

I don't think everyone quite understood the assignment, but here are all the results of the suggestions that actually fit what I was asking for, hah. If you missed it, I took a quick mini-animation commission featuring Jacki and Kat, but they wanted to leave the details of what happens in it down to you guys. I put up a post for suggestions, and while not all of them really work for a mini-animation, here are the ones that might!

Here's the story- it was pointed out to me recently that in my mini-animation rampage where I paired Kat up with all my female cast members, I missed one- Jacki! All the mini animations that were not just my own characters were done as commissions so I asked if they would be interested in such a thing, and they accepted, but with an odd twist; they specifically wanted my patreon peeps (das you) to pick what these folks get up to.

I couldn't think of a reason to not allow that, so let'...

Y'all wanted a name, so I gave her one. I genuinely didn't pick the name because it sounds like "tall", in fact I didn't even notice until I was already thinking about it for a while. But I'm not gonna complain either, it's stupid in just the kind of way I love. :P

Maned Wolf Size Comparison

She tall! Y'all are probably familiar by now with how big BFCT is. I don't have many characters who can stand and look him in the eye like that! Their stupid long faces made this pose a little awkward, but whateves, this is just for the comparison. She actually wins just by a hair if you count the ears, but if you go top of the head he's a lil' bigger.

I decided to experimentally convert BFCT over to a similar shading style as what I did on the wolf. So far so good, seems to work on h...

Maned Wolf + Experimental Fluff

Turns out my tablet can handle some fur, more or less!

For those of you who don't care about the details of behind the scenes blender stuff, the long and short of it is: I'm messing around with a different way of rendering fur that has some interesting results but I'm not sure yet if it'll be usable. Fur will probably need many tweaks but for now, here it is!

The Game Begins

I've been quiet for a while, but as ever that's just because I've been workin' on stuff. This month's animation has just been wrapped up and is off to render! Y'all voted to see Sy and BFCT strapped into some machines in a "whoever finishes first loses" contest. 

There aren't many scenes I can show off, but I was doing a test of the experimental multi-camera shot I tossed into this animation and figured this made for as good a teaser as any. What could be going on here? Ooooh, ...
