Lupa isnt one for too much emotion, but even wq catches her off guard
When lupa lost her arm, gilga knew it wasnt nuturing and being felt sorry for. Training lupa to be better was what would pull her partner through it, so being the good leader she was, gilga did just that. Which also helped got her back into form too after not training as much as she use too, and it also helped the queen cut down on her drinking and smoking.

Her bloodline, the first lycans were said to have been beasts gift from the great wolf, fenrir. They were the only dire lycans of black fur and distinct markings on their bodies and colossal beasts in size. Dires were also in full control of their beast, meaning they could function, communicate normally as they would in human form.
