When gilga's uncle took over, he decimated the dires to ensure only his followers would carry on the lines. They would not agree to any treaties with the vampire queen but stupidly try to overthrow her again, then the witches, and keep all lesser lycans as their obediant servants.

WQ & Lupa - Learning

This was kinda inspired by an ask about Lupa 

does she struggle academically? Has gilga had to help her learn math, reading,etc…? Is this also why she doesn’t like talking at all? 

Lupa indeed struggled, she couldnt read or write and speech was limited. So best girl gilga taught her over time. Even though she's well versed now lupa still prefers to only speak when nessesary.

Lil Lore: 

When the throne had been usurped and her father killed by her uncle, WQ was the only remaining successor who had escaped. The hunt began to get rid of her too. They had tracked her through the wilderness to a forest that Lupa had made her home and killing ground for any dire's that might try to chain and enslave her again.
