Last morning I was trying to figure out why the viewport performance was so terrible in the scene I created the day before. In the end I couldn't figure it out for sure but I've a strong guess. Because this scene seemed unfixable (I tried removing everything besides the blank character) it was basically pointless to proceed and try to work with it.
