Which would be a far more appropriate title if I had done inflation. Anyway, I'm gonna rapid fire some stuff.
I said I had something big to end the month with, and it really was big. I don't know how well people respond to extreme wg, so part of the polls I'm going to be running from now on will be to determine preferred content types for the month as well as characters.
Joy! In a situation like ...

There it is. Not much to say about this update, mostly speaks for itself. Need a few more frames in there for certain shape transitions and getting that jiggle in there, but it finally feels like the animation actually exists!
There's a tabletop campaign I'm running. One of the antagonists in that campaign enjoys over-indulgence in sweet treats, and to avoid the consequences she had contact with a beautician with the power to remove excess fat. Long story short the protagonists of that campaign sent that beautician to jail for various crimes, and canonically Prim Reaper had to completely change her diet in light of that. So this... is an alternate universe where she co...
And there's frame one! And only frame one. I was hoping to have more to show by now, buuuuuut I did run into some troubles. First of all, I tried switching to a line with a consistent width. I had problems drawing certain features that way, and had to switch pressure sensitivity back on in order to get some control back. It does mean a higher risk of inconsistencies frame-to-frame, but that wasn't too much of a proble...
But just from what I recall, I can say for certain that if a rambunctious cat-monster-witch was invading my home, I would just train them to not be so rambunctious.
Anyway, the prompt said 'bigger in some way', and tbh this isn't even that much bigger than the character's original proportions (except in the thighs department). See, I kind of blew all my balloon energy on balloon day. Oops!
Here we go. This isn't a voting-type post despite it looking a bit like one. Just a quick update of where things are at, and what developing this stuff looks like. I wanted to do some interaction between the character and the background elements in this one, which A didn't allow for in a super interesting way. C isn't much better in that regard, but the main thing is that the minor characters reacting to the situation is what ...
Nobody suggested anything last week, so I went with my fallback plan. Ever played Code Vein? The boss designs in that game are mondo horny.
Also I've been wanting to hit this kink ever since Marrazan followed me on Twitter. It's a pretty alright kink, and I do love that guy's work. He won't know that until a month from now though when I post this art to Twitter. Until then, let's keep my fondness for him a secret between us.
Okay, so remember how I said I had a theme lined up for October? I changed my mind. I was going to draw a bunch of bosses from Code Vein since some of those designs hit that perfect pitch of spooky and lewd for October. But I feel bad about how self indulgent I've been at the end of this month with drawing my own characters (this one doesn't even have anything fetishy going on! fuck!), so I'm going to lean more heavily on suggestions instead to give...
Since the new animation isn't going to be based on a previous work like the last one, there's a unique opportunity to ask you guys for the direction it should take. All that's been decided so far is that it'll be a quickly paced, simple in style, public inflation sequence. The rest is up in the air.
I've got three rough directions here, Summer, Winter and Workplace

Oh, one more thing. I'm going to add some additional pricing tiers at the end of October. I've noticed that some people like to spread their support around several artists, and the current price is a little too steep to give people that option with me. I'll be adding a budget option that only grants art access, and a higher tier that grants access to a suggestion box that gets some pretty decent priority [will mostly be used to determine the contents of polls]. The middle tie...
Okay, so here's an explanation for today's lateness. See, I keep lining things up so I'm finishing them on the exact day they're due. But the problem is I work at night. And night means it's essentially morning of the next day. It makes my posting a little weird, but I'm at least going to hold myself to week to week regularity if not absolute deadlines. Still going to try to post earlier in the day from now on though.
Ah! There we go! Finally. This one comes in both Deeply Concerned and Enthusiastic Consent versions. Also I simplified my shading methods for this one a bit. Let me know what you think, if you prefer this look or the more detailed look of my other art so far.
Anyway, here's Glu Mae on the right and Gumi Chu on the left. Glu Mae is a slime girl whose preferred method of weight loss is making it someone else problem.
The bad news is that the Weekly art is going to be delayed again. Not sure by how much, possibly a day or two. However, it will not set the overall projected schedule for September back, partly for reasons related to the good news.
Which iiiiiis.... that the lines for the current animation are finished! Look at that. I spent a fair bit of time this week crunching this. As far as excuses go for lacking in the Weekly art department, I feel that's a pretty...
What sorts of tags do people think would make it easier to sort through post history? What kind of filters would people be interested in? Better to establish that now before there's too many things to go back and tag.
Ah, there we go. A little later than expected, but she finally got the second half of that four letter word out.
Whenever I go into these things I always feel like I've forgotten how to draw spheres. Still kind of do feel like that.
Anyway, next week I want to introduce, and reintroduce, people to some of my OCs. Glu for certain, and possibly someone brand new, as far as most of you know. There will likely be slime stuffing, because it fe...
Currently working on the Weekly art. Doing a followup to the Kim picture because I feel like it warrants one, and for the rest of the month of September I think I want to focus on my OCs [I also have a rough theme lined up for October]. This week's art might end up posted tomorrow at the latest, so I figured I should mention that instead of keeping y'all in the dark.
As for the animation, I don't think there will be any more posted WIP gifs until it's finished, honestly. But I've been...
Okay! We're on the finishing stretch for the lines, but it might still be a few weeks. That's because filling in these frames is a bit of a fiddly process. These inbetweens exist to smooth things out, and one has to be careful that they actually do that without introducing inconsistencies of their own. So it takes a while to do.
Even so, you can see the difference it makes for yourself. I could have settled at 6fp...
First of all, I think I've figured out how this power-up works. There has to be some kind of universal law that keeps the number of balloons in a given dimension constant. Pop one, you have to take its place.
Secondly, I tried to do a thing. Like, when a character becomes round near-instantly, but like if you captured the moment it was happening with a high speed camera. It's... a concept I like a lot and could stand to do a lot mor...
I've decided that moving my upload day to Wednesday is the right move. But this presents a problem: either giving myself half a week less to make the deadline, or a week and a half between two upload dates. I'm going to try something a little weird, but it should work.
Starting in September, each upload day is going to be one day later than the last. That means the schedule for September goes something like Sunday 6th, Monday 14th, Tuesday 22nd, Wednesda...

We're about at the halfway point with this animation project, at least in terms of the lineart. Still gotta fill in all those inbetween frames to give it that smooth feel. I want to give this one the full animation treatment, and then potentially think about simplifying and shortcuts for future projects. It all depends on whether or not infrequency of completion feels like an issue, and whether or not the ...

So I have a rabbit boy. He comes in both modern setting and fantasy setting flavours. The modern superhero version is named Riley, and the fantasy version is named Raghailleach. Mercifully, they're both pronounced the same.
This was a suggestion from subscriber DonutBronut! And a breath of fresh air after last week for sure.
See you all tomorrow for the special animation post!
Weeeeell what do you know, this week became pretty tight in the run-up to the weekend. It's almost like a bunch of my plans are converging on one day. I might have to change my upload day from Saturday so I can offset it from a bunch of other things that also happen on Saturdays. But I haven't decided when yet. Possibly midweek.
As far as this week goes, the weekly art will likely be posted late into this coming Saturday. It will also be male and slightly furry. It's a...

As mentioned in my other post, this week was kind of rough. The weather was extremely hot and the weekly art was more complex than I initially planned. Combine that with the diminishing returns of frame by frame animation [each pass over needs more and more new frames], and we're not hugely ahead of where we were last week. On the plus side, I got some of the tricky frames done this week, those that combined lateral movement,...

I was pretty jazzed about beating Scylla Omega. Then I realised that's a lot of seafood to be left with.
Okay, here's how it went down. There was a heatwave this week, which made it hard to get solid sleep and sapped my energy during the waking hours. I said to myself, let's keep it simple for this week's art, let's stick with characters you're familiar with and go with one of the suggestions next week. No need to get needlessly stressed. Somehow, betwee...

Things are finally at a place where everything is blocked out. The full sequence and logic of events is now clear. Arcane Orb -> Teleport -> Shenanigans. This is where things transition from the creative process to the labour process, more or less. In my experience a lot of animation is honestly just really advanced tracing, except instead of tracing one image you're finding the midpoint between two images. 2020-08-08 18:54:00 +0000 UTCView Post
It's weekly art time! Silica and Fetch end up stuck in an alley due to a poorly planned out pursuit. After the first image was done, I felt an overwhelming urge to do some variants, including some gooey ones. I can't help it. It's in my nature.
This is partially a gift to a subscriber, as the character on the left (Silica) is not mine but theirs. See, when you only have a single digit number of subscribers, it doesn't make sense to run structure...

This probably looks familiar! That's because the ending of this animation is going to be based on a piece of art that I'm already quite happy with but wanted to adapt to a slightly more involved project. This is a very early preview as I'm still filling out some of the key frames and timing. Next week should have all that blocking work finished and give a much better idea of the overall motion and pace.
