Magus Class v3.1.1 - (Tiny) Public Update

Made a few small changes to the Magus based on some feedback I got yesterday - thanks to all who checked out the update! Feedback is always welcome!

Change log v3.1.1
- Arcane Armory // Can no longer be dispelled.
- Spellsight //10-minute duration.
- Aegis // You only completely dispel spells with a duration of “instantaneous”.
- Arcane Archers // Arcane Quiver // Reworded to work better with Spellstrike.
- Spells // Torrent // Specified effects on a failed save.

It would be cool if they had Find Steed and Find Greater Steed on their spell list. It would further enhance their magical knight vibes and increase the parallel to Paladin. Also Shadowblade seems like a thematically appropriate spell for them

2023-08-28 03:58:54 +0000 UTCWould making that kind of Extra Attack incompatible with Spellstrike and any Cantrip that includes an Attack with a Weapon (thus blocking Booming Blade) be sufficient to allow it to be ok for a Magus that way they can attack with a weapon in one hand and shoot a Firebolt with the other?

2023-08-28 03:40:42 +0000 UTCI realize why that style of Extra Attack would be excessive for the Magus, but I do think it suits some characters, like the two warrior subclasses of the Alternate Bard. It's very fitting thematically for gish characters mixing weapon attacks with magic. (It's just redundant for the Magus who already has Spellstrike.)

2023-07-04 17:24:18 +0000 UTCOh, just realized I had another weird question: does an Order of the Aurora Magus count as an "allied creature" for gaining Frost from the Rimeguard ability, or do they only gain Frost when *someone else* on their side (within range) gets hurt?

2023-07-04 17:23:54 +0000 UTCYeah that would be a little bit overboard IMO. Honestly, I’ve been thinking a lot about that style of Extra Attack and I’ll probably errata-ing it out of my brews.

2023-07-04 17:23:32 +0000 UTCIt feels a bit weird to me that the Magus (even the Order of Arcanists) doesn't have access to the Bladesinger-style Extra Attack that lets you use a cantrip in place of one attack, but I guess the Magus's damage output is most likely high enough without adding a Booming Blade to every standard attack routine.
