Hey Patreons!
Finally! After rewriting this entire emitter from scratch for the twelfth time, the Boids Niagara particle system is done :D It took me quite a bit more time than expected, so I apologize for the delay.
The video ended up taking me quite a bit more time to make as well but oh well! I probably was a bit too technical in the video and it turned into a whoping 54-minutes-long video (there's some art timelapse but still :p) but hopefully it's educative enough.
It wasn't easy to explain this big chunky emitter and porting to UE5 had its challenge because there's quite a few things that changed in Niagara going from 4 to 5: particle's position is no longer a vector but is a new 'position' variable to support for large world coordinates and the neighbor grid 3D interface had important and undocumented changes which were a bit annoying to figure out. And so in case you have any question, feel free to reach out to me in the comments below or in the youtube's video comment section or better yet, in Discord! :)
It was quite a difficult but fun project to work on and I hope you'll find it useful.
Thanks for support guys :)
Cheers!
