Asparagus Tabbouleh

A old polish woman taught me this recipe, and although its quite simple, i quickly fell in LOVE. Millet is a grain that is very underused in the cooking world,  but its definitely one of my favorites. It has a very unique nutty flavor that gives depth to many dishes.  I had this salad with some falafels and a garlic tahini sauce.  I highly recommend this :)

Tabbouleh ingredients

1 cup dry millet

1 bunch asparagus

1 bunch parsley

The Beginning Of The End

When I was 17 years old, I went to live in my  first Ashram.  Half the people living there were Swami’s from India, and the other half were people like me… seeking answers in uncommon places.  The Ashram was nestled far into the mountains, between two mountain valleys, with a river running through. Which is actually pretty crazy now that i think about it, because that is exactly the scenery i am living in right now.

Honestly this place was one of the most eye op...

Falling In Love

I've been away from this newsletter for a little bit, mostly because i've been living life, and experiencing this beautiful world.  Lifes been busy, and chaotic and it's been hard for me to formulate coherent thoughts about my past and present experiences.

But now I'm settled back home again and it feels like a good time to start reflecting.

This story is very deep and personal, but i'm very open with you all, and feel inclined to talk about what has happened this past month....

Addicted To Life

Something became very apparent to me the other day while i was spending some time in the mountains.

Me and my sister went completely off grid, far from the distractions of the world.  The beauty and silence that exists in this world is truly astounding. I also noticed something profound within my mind that I didn't even realize was there.

We got a really early start on our hike the first day and the trail ended up being quite intense.  We arrived at this littl...

Inevitably, life happens, my work schedule always gets crazy, and i'll get caught up in all the complexities of life.

The summer comes and goes, and by the end of it I haven't done any of the things I was planning on doing.

Its really easy for me to fall into patterns ...

Squash Curry + Sri Lankan Coconut Sambol

When i was living and working in Sri Lanka last year, there was a lady down the road from where i was staying that made the most amazing curry ive ever had in my life.  She set up tables and chairs on her from porch and cooked delicious meals out of her tiny little kitchen.

We went there pretty much every single night, and every time there was a different curry.  Our favorite night was when she would make the squash curry.

Right before i left to go back hom...
