Caritas Abundat - By Hildegard Von Bingen

Good day everyone!

I'm back from my sojourn in Europe with my dad, where I visited six countries, sang in two empty churches, and accidentally ate the hottest pepper of my life in Serbia. I tried to find inspiration wherever I could, and discovered it in all sorts of interesting places. There was a little music listening nook in Buda castle where I felt a spark of something ignite.

I decided to go back to the roots of this channel and recorded another one of OG Hildegard's compositions. If I'm ever fortunate enough to reach 1 million subscribers, I will probably celebrate by releasing this on Youtube, but for now it is for your ears only. It was a joy to study and record, and I admit that sometimes when I close my eyes while I sing, I can imagine what it might have sounded like inside Hildegard's abbey. It's the easiest way to time travel!

Wishing you all the very best start to autumn, and a heartfelt thank you for being here and supporting me in my musical adventures.

I haven't heard Hildegard's work in a while. And to hear it sung with such passion makes my heart melt. Thank you so much for sharing this.

I got to visit long before the fire, but I can only imagine what singing in there would feel like!

Oh wow! Yes, I visited a few places there. A smaller village on the river (I think Čerević?) and Novi Sad, plus quite a bit of biking through the countryside. It was beautiful, and most people were incredibly friendly. One man got out of his car after talking with us on a small barge crossing just to shake our hands. :)

My cat Kiki Wampuss LOVES music and jumped up on my lap to listen to this Caritas Abundat. She is a fan!

"Super" rises so melismatically and sounds like a flute! Verb "give" gives so much.

This was amazing. The hairs on my arms stood up as soon as you started singing.

Francine Beattie

Still some of the most effortless straight-tone singing I've ever heard. Always such a pleasure to hear you singing early music. :)

Do you have an audio file we could download?

Vincent Pelletier

Beautiful. Would love to hear more. 💞💞💞

Charles Kersey

Amazing, I've already listed to it on repeat like five times while making a new D&D Character (inspired to make a Druid).

Can think of one place that I think we all would love to hear you sing in... Notre Dame. To hear something like this play off Notre Dames harmonics would be epic. So better book tickets again for December when it reopens ;)... But anyway Welcome Back.

Kyle van Tol

Welcome back! 🥰

Onyx The Dane

Welcome back. Can't wait to hear more!

Cat

Thank you for making my tear up with the utter beauty of this rendition.

This is wonderful. I understand what you mean by time travel. There are a few songs I sing during Holy Week that take me right back there.

Allison Harvey

I would buy the album. In fact, I would buy anything she records.

Valerie Tisdel

Never have I heard another singer who can so consistently create such an ethereal sound. I imagine Hildegard von Bingen would be pleased for you to sing in her abbey. I know I'd love to hear it.

Claire

Here! Here!

Kermit the Hermit

This is beautiful I would love to hear you do more of hildegard’s work like O frondens virga or O euchari in leta via
