How should spice be balanced?

As a side note, 5 new Body-shapes for Jack have been uploaded. I know, they're not the most exciting but they certainly were the most overdue. Next week, it's Olivia's turn so be ready for a new record height in the Funky-Spice PC-game.

Question:

How should the Funky-Spice effect be balanced within the game?

In Cannon (I mean, who's going to argue with the guy who wrote the thing?) Funky-Spice would take effect quite rapidly after ingestion (within a few hours) but its effects when mixed with food would be subtle and the user's body could only process so much and any excess consumption would just be eliminated by the body. (Like vitamins in real life)

Funky-spice was said to be expensive but I never stated exactly how much it cost within the comic.

Of course, the characters found ways around the maximum daily intake and also they found ways to make the effect even quicker.

That is pretty much what I started out to replicate in the game. I've increased potency (150%) for the testing period, that's one thing I might roll back at some point but what I'm looking for now is a balancing statement on how we'd all like Funky-Spice to fit within the evolving Blooper-verse.

I'm reflecting on this poll and I see that its pretty much a tie between option 1 and 2. so it's unlikely that I'll bring the potency back down, I might adjust the price to match though.

I can only speak for myself, but the pressure to constantly feed spice to each character would be lessened, if potency were increased for the moment. As is, I'm spending a fair amount of time micromanaging to ensure that characters are getting spice every day to keep the growth progressing.

I get part of your point: time goes by too slowly. But how does that have anything to do with spice potency? Making spice more potent would grow the girls faster at first but then you would run out of money earlier in the semester. Is it a game testing thing we should enable or is it for actual game balance? Both can be done, its just that I'm currently thinking of game balance. Also, the story mode is planned to take place over 3 years of in-game time, If spice gets too potent Olivia will reach her maximum height after 2 months.

I think a higher potency/higher cost could help reduce some of the grinding currently in the game. As it stands, it takes about ~25 minutes to finish a week if you go fast.
