OP Sister Chapter 512: Against The Chimera

Listen While Reading Recommendation: SymphonicSuite-Lv.3

-----

The lake of boiling magma erupted, and a gigantic beast emerged, a chimeric, aberrant creature composed of numerous draconic homunculi body parts. It looked truly horrendous, with dozens of draconic arms and legs, over five distinct heads, and multiple tails and wings. It appeared in genuine agony, its body burning with runes that held its grotesque form together.

“GRYYAARRRGH!”

The beast roared monstrously, its voice a fusion of dozens of creatures, all in constant pain, anger, and torment. It wasn’t an undead but a living monstrosity only a deranged genius could create.

And that genius watched us intently. Vulcanus, surprised we weren’t “mere weak primates,” had unleashed this “specimen” to test us.

He was insufferably full of himself, wasn’t he?

“Behold, you insignificant mortals, my sublime creation—the Chimera! Do you pathetic creatures dare challenge the masterpiece of Vulcanus, the supreme alchemist? Prove your worth, if you can!”

Vulcanus’s voice thundered through the skies as his blazing form emerged once more, glaring at us with a sneer of divine superiority. He reveled in watching us battle his creations, utterly unconcerned by their potential defeat.

“What kind of farce is this?” I demanded. “An Elder Dragon of your caliber stoops to crafting these abominations?! I thought you were a respectable being, but you’re nothing but a madman!”

“Haha! A madman, you say? You ignorant speck, I am the pinnacle of genius, weaving life where you mortals see only chaos! Dare to question my brilliance? Then show me! Hahah!”

Vulcanus dismissed me with a mocking laugh, then vanished. Now we were left to deal with the monstrosity he’d conjured. Just perfect.

RUMBLE!

The creature leaped from the magma, charging toward us. Its colossal body, spanning over a hundred meters, moved with alarming speed, its myriad limbs scuttling like a centipede’s, made even more disturbing by its heads coughing blood and flames.

“It’s coming! Get ready!” I roared. “Everyone, fly into the skies. We can’t face this thing on the ground!”

I swiftly imbued everyone with my Aura, and they nodded, soaring upward. With my Aura’s aid, even those unable to fly could do so temporarily.

My brother sprouted black wings. Henrietta used her angelic wings. Baihe flew with her magic, and Kevin and Annabelle ascended effortlessly with my Aura infused into their bodies.

CRAAASH!

The monster’s claws struck the spot we’d occupied a second ago, shattering the volcanic stone floor and hurling massive chunks of rock everywhere.

As its many heads spotted us in the air, they unleashed blazing breath attacks. Fiery flames surged from every direction, some like piercing beams, others like massive fireballs.

“Evade!”

Henrietta darted through the air, shielding Kevin from a giant fireball with her golden shield at the last moment. A massive explosion of flames pushed them both back.

BOOOM!

“Henrietta!”

Jack panicked briefly, but she was unharmed. I glanced down, then back at him. This beast was dangerous and needed to be stopped quickly.

“Jack, don’t worry about me! I’m fine! I can fight, and my skills and armor provide more than enough protection! Fight without holding back!” Henrietta said, reassuring him. “Trust me!”

“…Alright!” Jack nodded, swiftly transforming. “Fenrir!”

“Fine!”

Fenrir fused with him, enabling Jack to assume his mightiest form: a multi-armed, black werewolf with three heads and a massive, muscular frame.

“AWOOOOO!”

Fenrir and Jack’s voices merged as one, howling ferociously. He charged downward, wielding his Gram, engaging the monster alone.

He unleashed a flurry of powerful strikes, cleaving through the monster’s long necks. Blood and flames splattered as he beheaded several of its heads.

“GRYYAAARRR!”

The monster roared in response, its claws infused with fiery draconic energy, striking Jack from multiple angles and forcing him back.

Jack countered fiercely, parrying each blow with precision. Sparks of black lightning and flames flared as he displayed his mastery of swordsmanship.

“{Abyssal Wolf Blade Arts}: {Soul-Devouring Black Maws}!”

He swung his sword downward, transforming Gram into a colossal black blade that sliced through several of the monster’s claws. Blood and flesh sprayed everywhere. The beast screamed, launching hundreds of fireballs that pushed Jack back further.

“Ugh! Damn thing! It attacks from so many angles! Annoying!” Fenrir roared angrily. “Jack, we can’t waste too much energy on this thing! It’s clearly designed to slow us down!”

“He’s right, so let me help you, big brother!” I said with a grin, winking at my brother as I extended my hands. “Violet! Snow! Shiro! Attack!”

I hadn’t yet summoned Fang Shuan, who remained in his small form, nor my little demon army. I wanted to preserve their strength for later. They’d be far more crucial when we faced Vulcanus himself, not his creations, which, as Fenrir noted, were meant to delay us.

“KRIEEEEHHHH!”

“ROOOAAR!”

“KYUUUH!”

Violet, Snow, and Shiro roared in unison, their elemental auras surging with divine and spirit power. Bound to me, they grew stronger through our connection as my Familiars, amplified by my Heart of Hope and Love and my Privileges.

Violet expanded to match the Chimera’s immense size, coiling around it with his long body. His incredibly hard exoskeleton crushed and asphyxiated several of the monster’s heads, binding it in place and halting its rampage.

Simultaneously, Violet’s razor-sharp mandibles delivered a series of deadly bites to the monster’s limbs, neck, and body, tearing off chunks of flesh that he eagerly devoured.

Indeed, my Violet had always been quite the ravenous little beast!
