Belphegor waved his hand, and suddenly, two decks of cards materialized.

These cards were enormous compared to the ones Djet had, overflowing with demonic flames.

The deck was composed of sixty cards each; one of such decks flew towards Bing Xue, floating right by her left side.

“Now, the Demonic Card Duel Battle shall begin!”

One of the demons among the crowd, resembling a tall butler with pointy ears and a very long nose, made mostly out of flames, roared; he was some sort of referee.

“The first turn will be decided based on a game of dice! The higher number gets the first turn! Now, Players, throw your dice!”

POOF!

Bing Xue saw a large dice made of bones and flames appear before her, which she quickly grabbed, without burning, and threw it away.

CLANK! CLANK! CLANK!

The two dice hit each other and then fell to an invisible floor in the skies until they stopped moving.

“Great Lord Belphegor is a five! And this human woman is… a three! Lord Belphegor goes first!”

“HEHEHEH…!”

Belphegor laughed viciously as he took five cards from his deck and began to look at them in silence.

“That damn bastard obviously cheated with the dice!” Belze was biting her nails angrily. “He most likely placed a demon soul inside his own; didn’t you see how it moved weirdly?”

“Yes, I know, but we’re playing his game, so it’s better not to be rude,” Bing Xue nodded. “Lord Belphegor, are you done yet?”

“YES!”

Belphegor smiled, taking one of the cards from his deck and showing it to everyone.

As he said that, two sets of numbers made of flames appeared above him and Bing Xue.

[LIFE POINTS: 50.000]

Both of them had fifty thousand life points, perhaps to prolong the game and make it “more fun” for Belphegor.

“I Summon the Tempest Unicorn Beast in Defense Mode.”

Belphegor took out the card, using it, as it flashed with light, manifesting a giant dog and lion-like chimera creature with green and white fur and a sharp golden horn over its forehead.

“GROOOAAARRR!”

As it was summoned, it roared, releasing a powerful aura of slicing winds everywhere, spreading some sort of Terrain Effect.

“I end my turn with that.”

Belphegor was confident, deciding to play around and see what Bing Xue could do to amuse him a little more.

“He summoned a powerful beast. Do you see the numbers above it?” Belze said.

[TEMPEST UNICORN BEAST (TIER 3): DEFENSE MODE]

[LIFE POINTS: 10.000]

[ATTACK POINTS: 8.000]

[SPECIAL EFFECT: TEMPEST TERRAIN]

“Ten thousand life points, yes. And… attack points too; it’s quite strong.”

“What monsters you can summon depends on your current Life Points. The higher they are, the stronger the beasts you can bring.”

“So that’s how it is…”

“Right now, that’s a Tier 3 Beast; there’s a max of eight Tiers… It’s a strong one; it has the ability to summon three Terrain Tiles surrounding it. These Tiles are made of Tempestuous Winds. Whenever one of your units moves towards those tiles to attack it, they will receive up to 5000 Wind Damage, be careful and use long-ranged attackers! Don’t risk it!”

“Thank you, Belze.”

Bing Xue looked at the cards she took from her deck calmly; they were five.

[Serpentine White Dragon: Tier 2]

[Kettle Of Avarice: Tier 5]

[Life Draining Knife: Tier 3]

[Unexpected Visitor: Tier 1]

[Greenwood Forest Archer: Tier 2]

“Ah… your cards aren’t looking that good aside from the Kettle of Avarice.”

“Yes, I can see this one is quite good.”

Bing Xue quickly pulled the card out, showing it.

“I use Kettle of Avarice.”

“Oh?”

Belphegor raised an eyebrow from his mask as Bing Xue activated the powerful card.

FLAAASH!

From her deck, three more cards flew out and were added to her hand!

The Kettle of Avarice allowed a Player to take three random cards from their deck, an incredible and easy card to use to increase their chances of getting something good!

As the card disappeared, three more appeared in Bing Xue’s hand.

[Unseen Circumstances: Tier 1]

[Wait and See: Tier 1]

[Aberrant Mutant of the Sewers: Tier 2]

“W-What the hell are these cards?! Belphegor, you bastards! Did you give her a card full of shit?!”

“HEHEHEHE! I WAS FAIR AND LET THEM BE GENERATED RANDOMLY! WHAT SHE GOT IS NOT MY PROBLEM! IT’S… HER BAD LUCK, PERHAPS?”

“Tch…”

Bing Xue patted Belze’s shoulders.

“It’s alright, Belze, these cards… I can see they’re quite strong.”

“What? No! They’re all shit! You need a strong beast or—”

“I activate the Unseen Circumstances and the Wait and See Cards.”

FLAAASH! FLAAASH!

Each turn, every player could play all the cards in their hand if they wanted, although some had conditions to be used…

Most low-tier cards had weak effects and had no conditions.

The Unseen Circumstances Card was flipped over, unleashing its power.

It allowed Bing Xue to see one of Belphegor’s cards and cancel it for a turn.

The thing is the card was random.

[Greedy Hand: Tier 3]

“Good enough… I seal away that card for another turn.”

“HAH! OKAY.”

Belphegor didn’t care, as his card gained chains and floated away from him.

And the Wait and See Card was…

“I finish my turn with the Wait and See Card and take an additional card from the graveyard.”

“There’s no graveyard; they’re only for monsters, and none had died yet!”

“In that case, the card says I can take any other card that isn’t from a deck or from our hands.”

“Hah?! I know that! I made this game!”

Belphegor saw it as his card…

Slowly floated towards Bing Xue!

“Thank you for the card, Belphegor!”

“Tch, that doesn’t matter, you know? Your turn has ended! My Beast! Attack her life points directly!”

“ROOOAAARR!”

The tempest beast roared, releasing a powerful gust of tempestuous winds against Bing Xue!

BOOOM!

[LIFE POINTS: 50.000 -> 42.000]

“Once your life points end, you lose, you know?! So better start doing something, hahaha!”
