Once I see that some reactor has seen Casablanca, I just have to see the full reaction! π€£ Not sure how long I will stick around here, but seeing this reaction is certainly worth it, because this is one of the best I have seen. Addie "got" this movie more than the usual reactor does. This is a fantastic reaction, this movie never fails to capture one's heart.

One thing I'll tease you about, Addie: The first time Rick said, "Here's looking at you, kid," you asked, "Do people quote this movie? That line?" Later you affirmed that you had probably heard it many times without realizing its source. And @Byrd N. Hand has already listed the *many* quotes from this film that have been repeated often over the decades. It's actually one of the more (mis)quoted films in cinema history, but it's old enough that many people don't know the origin of the quotes. Also, @Lana Gorgeous already relayed the story that many of the actors had actually fled from the German occupation, so the emotions displayed in the sing-off were very real! Altogether, a fantastic experience! Thanks, Addie!

"I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." "Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walked into mine." Also "Play it again, Sam," one of the more famous misquoted lines in movie history. Peter Lorre also has probably one of the more mimicked voices of any movie actor ever -- mainly in cartoons, and probably most notably in the form of Boo Berry from the monster cereal commercials.

It was directed at the beginning of WWII when Jews were already being murdered in Germany and many people were fleeing at the height of Hitler's terror. Some of the cast of this movie fled occupied France before Hitler arrived to kill them. One of them was the actress who played Yvonne, named Madeleine LeBeau. In the movie she is only 20 or 21 years old. When they sang the french national anthem La Marseillaise, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOeFhSzoTuc&t=7s, and you saw emotions and tears, that was not acting. That was real for people who fled the tyranny of Hitler. Everytime I watch this movie and see the tears at that national anthem I start to cry, knowing how real those emotions were for them.

THE TREASURE OF SIERRA MADRE is one of his bests, as is MALTESE FALCON which is also one of the very best detective movies ever made. Ingrid Bergman is great in 2 Hitchcock movies: SPELLBOUND and NOTORIOUS(which also stars Claude Rains["Louis"]).

The Great Movie Ride, which used to be in the Chinese Theater at Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios is where I first discovered this movie. I just watched it on DVD, on Sunday night, and I enjoyed it. This is also the first Humphrey Bogart movie I've seen as well. BTW, you're on a roll with two back-to-back Best Picture Oscar-winning movies this week. And it's also the OLDEST movie you've ever seen, since It's A Wonderful Life (1946).
