No Usopp = No rescuing Robin No Usopp = No defeating Perona who could beat all of them No Usopp = No saving Kaya who gave them their first ship (because while they were strong enough, Luffy was busy with Kuro and Zoro was too far away to save Kaya in time if not for Usopp's slingshot) These are all things that would not only have been impossible without Usopp, but were all carried out with Usopp's own efforts, not just luck. I.e. sniping the marines from an incredible distance before Robin crossed past the bridge, defeating Perona and her bear zombie. He is annoying, and does a lot worth critizing all the time, definitely worht roasting, but also definitely not useless.

2025-09-10 11:39:46 +0000 UTCI've admittedly always loved the fact that Vivi figured something was up, and the only thing stopping her from understanding properly was not having all the knowledge she needed. She was (and still is in a way) one of my favourite Straw Hats, so it's kinda heartwarming to see her still understand Luffy so well after all this time, even though she's missing context. I think Buggy calling Rayleigh Luffys "Uncle" is meant to be in the same way that you call a close friend of the family 'Uncle' or 'Auntie'. Remember both Buggy and Shanks were on Rogers crew; so they knew how strangely brotherly Roger and Garp were. I think he's wondering if Rayleigh and Dragon were also that level of friendly to the point that Dragon would let Rayleigh help raise his kid. (Or maybe I'm wrong and this actually is a hint Oda dropped about Luffy posibly mom. What do I know XD)
