(But I guess you don't know that since you're watching the dubbed version) By using this nickname, Izuku wants to encourage the left-behinds to believe in their dreams and never lose hope ! In a way, he's the only kid in the class who has chosen a nickname that inspires others to a nickname for hype. Once again, he's the one who makes the most heroic decision. It is also proof that his inferiority complex towards Katchan is disappearing more and more. And that's why Katchan looks at him badly when he hears his choice. Converting the nickname your bully gave you into a hero's nickname is not commonplace! PS: I will never understand why Aizawa didn't prevent Iida from doing his internship at Hozu.... The plot, I guess.
