So much of this chapters beginning felt like a reprise of the very first as a framing device but it also gives season finale vibes. i still get the same bittersweet feeling as the sweater vest scene the previous night. Dorothy has given up every piece of herself over the course of the last few books and even her own anguished declaration of love was turned into more ammunition against her while Joyce is none the wiser. My ultimate theory here, is that there is one key difference between the two Dorothy hasn't picked up yet but is going to sooner than later. That difference is that Joyce is a Top.
