Lucky, I understand why you are agitated about Shikamaru, but you must know what the teachings of the village are. The Leaf Village is above everything. But Kawaki doesn't care about anything or anyone except the Seventh. He didn't care if Shikamaru died. That's just not right and this mental attitude is a huge danger. Shikamaru is 100% correct as so often.

That was Shikamarus point and it's not healthy. Plus Shikamaru never really liked Kawaki and Kawaki doesn't like him. Kawaki said he didn't care if code killed Shika. He's not in the wrong to be concerned about Kawakis mental state and how far he's willing to go to keep Naruto safe.

2023-10-21 00:51:56 +0000 UTCWell Lucky to touch on the Shikamaru thing; as annoying as I found him here in this instance his whole point about Kawaki is Kawaki clearly only reveres Naruto as important and nothing else. The events that transpired were more than evident Kawaki will do anything to protect Naruto even kill his own son without hesitation which means there's no lines he won't cross so for example if Kawaki were to deem the village a threat to Naruto he'd destroy it in an instant regardless of Naruto's wishes. The anime didn't go as deep as the manga did but essentially Kawaki looks at Naruto like his god in the way Code did for Ishikki so Kawaki at this point in time is no longer looking at Naruto and Boruto as his father and brother but Naruto as his deity and Boruto as Momoshiki; that is all he sees them as now. He's willing to go against Naruto's wishes if it means keeping him safe meaning he no longer looks at Naruto as a person with feelings and agency aka human and that's both scary and sad at the same time.

Also think about what everything is to Boruto and what would look like if the prophecy was true which its pretty obvious that might be the new plot. The clue for the time skip would be to think about Sasuke Uchiha life.

2023-10-20 23:30:47 +0000 UTCThe reason Momo's as good as he is now is because of all of the experience he's gathering from being inside and watching Boruto and how Boruto fights like a ninja the same way Ishikki fought Naruto and Sasuke the fact that Issikki was already OP was a problem but what made him even more dangerous is he actually knew how to fight like a Shinobi from being on Earth and actually learning a lot unlike Kaguya who just gained the power from the fruit but didn't train or hone her skills as a warrior. Momo used to be the same way where he thought his own power without strategy was enough but Sasuke and Naruto's teamwork overwhelmed him he couldn't believe it so it's ironic that now Momo has actually learned something valuable from Boruto even though he hates it. Also in this instance Momo is fighting Kawaki not Isshikki and Kawaki's just coming into Ishikki's powers so he's still inexperienced but if it had been Ishikki himself he'd lose.

Also even though you'd "know" what is about to come reading the manga, the adaptations is always including new stuff and normally is way more hype. Different media different way to tell the story. I'd also vote for manga reaction of HxH as well!

It's still the same idea; Shikamaru focusing on how to deal with Kawaki and what it means that he killed his own brother with barely a second thought, but it definitely comes across more like its out of genuine fear and worry about how dangerous Kawaki now is for... well, literally the exact reasons that you pointed out about how his actions could mean he might be teetering on the edge of insanity.

He’s been bothering me for a while, lol. Now, let’s talk about Kawaki. Did he seem a bit crazy to you? I don’t know, but I didn’t like that change. Threatening to kill his brother without any hesitation or sympathy is just insane. But, well, everyone has their own way of doing things, I guess. When it comes to choosing another anime, I really hope you give FMAB a try. That idea of a long anime slot you mentioned, I don’t think it was really a thing to begin with. If I remember correctly, you just wanted to continue the Naruto journey, which is why you started it. So, maybe you don’t have to replace it with another equally long anime. Btw, I purposely haven’t read the manga because I want to watch it first. Maybe you should think about doing the same. Just something to consider.

Whereas village should be above all. Momo didn't absorb shadow technique before I believe. He absorbed chakra from Ninja tool and then immediately after that was able to use a one time wide range shadow paralysis. Momo and Isshiki were looking equals here. How, idk. He got his ass handed by Naru-Sasu back then but could go tow to tow here. Also, Isshiki doesn't have any dojutsu aside from that shrinker eye. In comparison, I haven't seen Momo use his Byakugan in combat much. He could be puncturing chakra points to disable enemies. Finally, I think Boruto didn't use byakugan attack in that one instance. It was his regular wind attack, Gale Palm.

What it doesn't change though is Momos ability to take over. After all: Momo's been doing that ever since Boruto hit 50% Otsutsuki. As long as his soul is connected to Boruto, he has exactly the same amount of influence over his body as he had before. But for obvious reasons; he needs to be far more careful from now on. Plus; theres a really twisted line of Momos that wasn't in the anime. In the manga he basicaly outright says that part of the reason he as willing to sacrifice his resurection; is because he want's to see Borutos prophecy come true. The guy was willing to give up his chance of truly coming back to life just so he can watch what's about to happen with his own eyes.

It's almost a mirror to Naruto and Sasuke of the past because even though Naruto was the main character it was still just as much Sasuke's story as it was Naruto's and you can't tell Naruto's story without Sasuke just like when it's all said and done you won't be able to tell Boruto's story without Kawaki.

2023-10-20 21:24:11 +0000 UTCYou know: when I heard this arc was finally getting adapted, I thought to myself "if they don't have a call back to Kawakis first fight against Garo; I'm going to be annoyed." I'm so happy they had the same idea as me~ As for the whole "Momo can't absorb shadows" thing; it's actually weird. Cause in the manga he *can* absorb shadows; he even does it in this very scene. But because it's said so specifically; a lot of people are theorizing it's Kishimoto using the anime canon to retcon in the fact that Karma can't absorb Shadow Possession since they technically it shouldn't be able to since shadows aren't made out of chakra. But we legitimately don't know why they made this change. Also; yes, Daemon is just that broken. Even in his sleep he's able to counter an attack on the level of a Tailed Beast Bomb. The best description I've heard is just to imagine him as a walking Mirror Force, and you can see why the kid solos 99% of all anime characters ever lol.
