Depends on how long the effect lasts. If Shinji stops using his bankai, does the effect end immediately too? If yes, it is useless against 1v1. If the effect lasts even after undoing bankai then it might be useful. Shinji will come out of flower after ending bankai, Bambietta would see Shinji as ally, Shinji can backstab. BUT it does seem that effect would end as soon as bankai is ended.

If she fell under the effect and started to see Shinji as an ally, Shinji could have one shotted her with a good backstab attack. His shikai was outclassed tho. Plus, his mask certainly could have helped. Cero could have been a great long range attack. BUT Shinji had no countermeasure for her constant rain of reishi that turns anything into a bomb.
