They did have the finger prick and all that when Christopher got made. The spreading of misinformation is a recurring theme on the show

Tony is 100% justified in how he feels about Juror on top of the fact he hated on Tony for years ok he might not have meant to shot Tony but season one he was 100% in his right mind when hired two black guys to kill Tony Juror didn't protect Bobby from doing murders Bobby was low level then Tony took all his power away after trying to kill him instead of just killing Juror and Juror was going to let Bobby kill the guy his dad dead after kill with hopes that if Bobby dad died from cancer that he wouldn't he even was going to kill someone in Artie restaurant out of spite

What are yall talking about New York always asking Tony to kill people for them Carmine and Johnny both asked Tony to kill each other and also Johnny asked Tony to kill Rusty which was the only other time that the junkie was involved in a hit and they killed Rusty also they use the junkie because he is an associate that speaks English and Italian and knows his way around New York which is where the hits happen and he has access to untraceable guns for the Italian mob guys to use and drop Bobby death was on him he didn't have his phone on him nor his gun and his obsession with trains and Silvio know what it was and still didn't have his gun on him Patsy got away because he had his gun on him it's like a great movie Carlito way

Imagine they still had Ralphie, Chris, Feech and Richie Aprile... Tony got rid of all of his soldiers over personal beefs.... Basically, Tony let his emotions get in the way of business... Not a Gary Cooper move...

I see that every time I watch the episode, I thought it was Chris.

Never understood where all their goons were during this. They show the people in charge, the captains but where are all the soldiers?

I guess I always justified the Melfi ending by thinking that it's in line with her more compliant personality (juxtaposed with Tony's rejection of authority). Employee of the Month highlights these traits well; her refusal to seek vigilante justice because she doesn't want to break the social code. Here, we see her completely buy into the study wholesale, without any healthy scepticism, and give into peer pressure. To me, it just made perfect sense for the character. She may be the moral compass of the show, in many ways, but she is not impervious to her own form of bad behaviour, in this case she exhibits some real NPC traits haha.

Lemme tell you a coupla three things: 1. It's so weird to look back on the show and realize how different things have become, especially compared to the first season. It was basically a sitcom in the beginning and this episode felt like a funeral. 2. Imagine if Tony didn't kill or run off like half his glorified crew. Chris, Furio, Mikey Palmice, Richie, and even Ralphie would have been like Seal Team 6 for them. Instead you had Bobby, who WAS BUYING AN 8000 DOLLAR TOY TRAIN IN THE MIDDLE OF A WAR, and Silvio, who had his toolie in the back seat and going all "ehhh, right in the spaghetti" when he got shot. Patsy held it down, though. 3. The Melfie ending always felt too abrupt in my opinon. As long as the last season was, sometimes it feels like they could have used another episode just to set it up more organically. Also, her therapist is such a douchecanoe.

Correctly thinking that

The funny thing about the Junkie is that he never really did anything wrong the whole show. He was smart and always on the ball when given tasks. You could tell he knew they fucked up when he heard about the guy speaking Ukrainian. He just didn't want to push it because he would be held responsible. But really it was the Italian guys who fucked up.

I get the feeling that part of Paulie’s longevity is based on people thinking he’s too foolish to bother to have wacked.

Bobby’s a good example about how job promotions aren’t always a good thing. If Janice didn’t go after Bobby, then maybe Bobby would still be buying stool softener for Junior and he wouldn’t be on New York’s radar.

Phil’s an asshole but he and y’all 100% right about the glorified crew comment. They fucked up some many times throughout the series, it was only a matter of time before it was too much to overcome. Shit if Raymond and Eugene hadn’t unexpectedly died in the same episode Tony might’ve been locked up a long time ago.

John Collins

Exactly, exemplified by the over the top car crash after Sils shootout. All the fans ever wanted was violence and all the creators ever wanted was absurdity.

David Chase and the writers always had a contentious relationship with the fans. I like many was impatient at times during the last few episodes, but throughout the entire series there were complaints about the pacing and lack of mob action. Not only is Blue Comet probably the best episode of the series, it’s almost a fuck you to the fans, like they were saying “See? We could’ve made the show y’all think you wanted, and it would’ve been fuckin’ awesome, but we made the show our own way.”
