Thanks, Chris, for giving me some clarity of thought on this subject. The discussion of oversized weapons and PCs came up in a game I was playing in a few months back. We all have 40 or more years experience in D&D but are relatively new to 5e. This group is notorious for picking the battlefield clean of every scrap of armor and weapons. The ruling our DM gave for the Minotaur skeleton’s great axe was fairly generous and it got me concerned about how to rule it in a future campaign of mine. I think I know how to handle it now.
