Haven Island [alpha 1]

Hello. I decided to do a rather long and complicated project. This is its first part, so to speak. One could say a very early alpha.

I've wanted to port one of the levels from Hitman 2 for a long time, but I didn't have the right tools, and I didn't want to mess around with rippers, especially since the ripper doesn't work with this game.

In general, I was told one not bad but rather complicated way to get a full map of the level. It took me about a week, not without someone else's help. Also, about another week I invented various scripts that will simplify my porting in the future, mainly it was sorting, renaming, etc., because the resources are exported simply with hash names and it is not even clear on which mesh which texture and which mesh is the LOD, and which is the main model.

I will use all the LODs that originally exist in the game, because the map is planned to be not small and quite busy, this also slows down the porting, but should have a positive effect on performance.

In general, here is a small piece of the future map. It really took a lot of work, for me this is a completely unknown and unfamiliar engine, I am studying, so to speak, in real time what and how works here.

Special thanks to Arctic0ne for hints with tools and some scripts. Also RED_EYE, most likely without his script nothing would have worked.

Honestly I don't know, most likely it will be a single but large map from Hitman, it is very difficult to get models/textures from this game, everything is based on hashes, I spend about half an hour on each model, trying to understand where what textures are and which mesh is a LOD, and which is the main model.

Looking forward to it. I hope you consider more hitman maps/rooms/buildings or whatever. There's a lot of cool environments in that game

in gta almost everything is finished, they don't make new interiors, they mostly use old ones, I'm looking for something from other games...

Been loving the map so far. It has been refreshing to see more of these fancy looking maps from you (we've been getting a little too much gta style maps from ya for awhile), especially nice looking Beach themed areas like this which is surprisingly has been lacking for decades. I'd also like to thank you for keeping us SFM users fed with these maps. I know it's never easy for you but we do appreciate the hard work you've been doing for us. Good quality sfm maps are rare that don't involve you needing to scenebuild everything from scratch all the time.
