About Mass Effect and Cyberpunk 2077

Hello. I'm surprised that there have been quite a few comments that Mass Effect content is still relevant. Therefore, please, by the end of the month, make suggestions so that we can port it from there. Proposals from ME2 and ME3 are accepted. Please leave at least a link to some video, wiki page or screenshot. I played ME2/3 during the apartments port, but that was almost 10 years ago, I don't remember much of it.

About other games. There was a proposal to port something from Cyberpunk. Strangely enough, I thought about this, I even studied this game for several days, the tools that fans have managed to make over the past 3 years, and came to the conclusion that, alas, there will be no ports from this game. The fact is that I managed to get complete interiors, with all the coordinates, but there is a big BUT.

The entire game is 99% built from a bunch of small standard blocks, something like sandbox games where you build your own house, base, factory, etc. from scraps. This is not so bad, in terms of porting to Source there is even a certain plus even Mass Effect maps are built in a similar way, but not in such inadequate quantities.

The main problem is that there is practically no unique texture in the game; all textures are generated in real time based on dozens of different masks, proxies, paints, and other things. I managed to find a guide on how to import interiors into Blender, where I saw all this horror. To get a physical texture that will be suitable for the Source Engine, you will have to bake each of them in Blender, which is a rather thankless task and in the end you will still end up with a very blurry version, not like in the game with masks.

I also remembered one rather old game - Beyond to souls. I liked the main character’s apartment and the bar there. I was even able to get partial models and textures, even coordinates, but there are many problems with unwrap (UV) models, which is why I have to use ripper often, and then straighten the models to adequate proportions. But it’s still quite feasible, maybe I’ll try to do it in the future.

You can see screenshots here.

Comments

I downloaded 3 different versions of the game, everywhere when I start I see only a black screen and the game cursor if I press the windows button, no sounds, updated drivers, directx and other garbage, nothing helps, it seems no luck

Just took a look and the ME3 version is slightly different (stairs to acces the "peripheral balcony" we cant acces in ME2) and for the textures if you have the legendary version it's the same quality for ME2 and ME3 (and way better than original ME3)

ok, thanks for the information

It appear in ME3 Omega DLC but only the main room and it's combat damaged ME2 https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fme2-le-ps4-afterlife-v0-pyllylwjxxk81.png%3Fwidth%3D1920%26format%3Dpng%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3De18e7046a994776aac89e7ce3e25cfb950dacf43 ME3 https://cdn.mobygames.com/screenshots/16796923-mass-effect-3-omega-windows-afterlife-has-been-turned-into-a-com.png

I can’t figure out if there is afterlife in ME3, I see there is some kind of DLC, but it seems that the club itself is no longer there. It's just that a newer game should have higher resolution textures.

Interestingly, back in 2015 I was planning to make a Donovan bedroom from ME2, but at that time I did not have the opportunity to get the exact coordinates/sizes of the models, the map remained unfinished https://masseffect.fandom.com/wiki/Kasumi:_Stealing_Memory

I already downloaded the game

The game was harshly treated and had a lot of promise that will sadly not be explored… but it was fun. Some of the smaller maps are definitely something you might like… Iceberg Lounge, the Belfry, some of the boss battle rooms… hope you enjoy what you find and again, if you need the .pak files, I will send them your way :)

I would love to see some maps from Omega, Morinth's apartment https://masseffect.fandom.com/wiki/Samara:_The_Ardat-Yakshi?file=Omega_-_morinth%27s_apartment.png or the Afterlife https://masseffect.fandom.com/wiki/Omega:_Aria_T%27Loak?file=ME2_hub_-_omega.png

I'm not going to post a link because it's very general, but any part of the ship would be very useful. All the models for it are very bare (excepting a few models of specific rooms) and there's a lack of props to fill it up with everything it should have.

I watched the video. I looked at what UE4 was there. You interested me, I’m already downloading the game, I’ll watch the content. 👀

Awesomeness 😍 I think Liara’s apartment on Illium would be a fine addition :) https://masseffect.fandom.com/wiki/Lair_of_the_Shadow_Broker_(mission)?file=Liara%27a_apartment.png

I still have the .pak files form Gotham Knights that also have a few smaller (and cool) maps… like Penguin’s Iceberg Lounge. If you ever fancy trying those out anyway haha
