An alternative to broken mirrors

I want to propose a solution for problematic mirrors, or even the use of pseudo mirrors where there are none.

In Source Filmmaker, you can create a camera that will feed the image to the _rt_monitor texture. This texture can work on any model, i.e. can be used everywhere!

I suggest that you familiarize yourself with this add-on for SFM, in the description there is a link to a video on how to make a working monitor / mirror. Please note that SFM needs to be run with the -monitortexturesize 2048 parameter in order for the image on the model to be nice and clear.

I suggested some fixes to the author, but most likely I'll make my "advanced" version, which includes a lot more functions, skins and forms.

Perhaps the only drawback is that the image depends directly on the position of the camera. If you shoot some kind of video, you will have to adjust the position of the camera, which plays the role of a mirror.
