Modern Home [Gmod | SFM]

Hello. I present to you my bold project. This is a port of a random apartment for Unreal Engine 4. I didn't transfer everything, a lot of small physical objects had to be excluded, I simply did not have time to meet the deadlines. I also suffered for a long time with tiles in the bathroom, I still do not like the way they look, it's all the fault of broken cubemaps in SE.

In the folder "_sfm_mirror" you can find the texture for the mirror under the SFM version (so that the mirror is not faint).  The mirror in SFM doesn't support AO, I can't do anything about it, it's a sfm/engine bug.

To display all objects on the map, select: Draw Game Entities -> Other Entities.

There is a separate map for SFM, because reflections from gmod are not supported and cause terrible graphical artifacts. I also had to make all the models static. all physical objects less than 15x15 units are lost in SFM.


In a separate archive, I added the model of this map. The model uses textures from the main project. Also, you will have to manually arrange the bathroom models. More details in a text file inside the archive.

I thought a separate apartment model would suffice... With "no lighting" maps, SE has big problems, mainly due to reflections, all objects using cubemaps will become almost black.

Potential nighttime version? Or one without world lighting so we can make and have our own lighting solutions? It's impossible to do a scene that is at sunset since the world light is just existing x3

Короче вот без освещения но я не буду ничего больше делать, эффекты на потолке всё равно останутся, модели всё равно будут светится. Я уж молчу про ванную, где всё светится считай из-за отражений. Проблема с hdr ушла. Так вот, хотела спросить, есть ли версия без освещения? просто чтобы свое там поставить и тд

You have no lighting at all, most likely you run the map without HDR. I wrote for a long time that I do not support LDR lighting, it is outdated. Make sure that High Dynamic Range is set in your additional video settings - Full (if possible). Or enter in the console - mat_hdr_level 2

https://gfycat.com/blindemptyamericanbadger I tried a few fixes but nothing changed. AO is not compatible with mirrors. In general, the mirror itself in SE is the most broken thing that can be. Due to problems with the mirror, the gta v penthouse update has not yet been released. 😪

Dang, that really does suck, cause a while ago, on the gta apartment map, I never had any issues like this, and then one day, it just started happening. At first I thought that I just installed a material that conflicted with it, but now I have no clue.

Mirrors and AOs in SFM are not compatible, this has always been the case. I have been on google a lot and looking for solutions, asking other experienced SFM users. Apparently earlier you were just lucky. I can't do anything about it. Perhaps wall models made the situation worse. You can experiment with the same file that is in a separate folder, changing various parameters and updating materials using the mat_reloadallmaterials console command. Personally, nothing good came of it.

I've been having a problem with all of the mirrors on your maps, where giant dark patches will appear when looking at them. Turning off AO fixes this, but also ruins the shot. The thing is, this hasn't always been a thing, and it used to be fine. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Та все интерьеры что я делаю изначально модель. Мне приходится в браше всё строить мучительно и долго, был бы 2й соус такой хернёй не занимался. Если руки дойдут дак сделаю модельку, прост я там немного дверные проходы менял, надо и в модели их изменить. Игрок SE толще этих проходов.

Отлиая работа, а ты можешь превратить эту карту в модель, как ты сделал с предыдущей комнатой? Просто в сфм намного легче работать с моделями квартир чем с картами.
