Epiphany Demo Ver. Jin [BTS] | Jin Bias First Time REACTION😳

this was NOT what I was expecting at all.. WOAH.

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to hear the demo version of this song (pls don’t revoke my bias card)!!

After listening to this, I need to hear so many more demo versions of songs because just… WOAH.💜

Epiphany Demo Ver. Jin [BTS] | Jin Bias First Time REACTION😳

Comments

I'm so grateful this was released. I wish Jin would repurpose the melody for a different song and release it in full. It's so so pretty and his voice in this...he's always been my favorite vocalist but this song just shows off his skills and range on a whole different level. He's so powerful and emotive. Jin's Epiphany Demo and j-hope's DNA demo are both, in my opinion, better than their originals. My absolute favorite demos by BTS. Special mention to Namjoon's Fake Love demo. How do they make choices about what the final sounds like when they have drafts THAT GOOD?? haha

Im REALLY CRYING NOW OMG😭😭😭😭😭

Can we rally for Peachy to react to Proof Disc 3?! I literally leave that CD in my car bc I can't listen to it digitally (legally lol)

Yes yearning!!!! That's the word@

Girlll you need to open the proof album Or listen to it on YT if you're not ready to open. This gem plus other demos are soooooo good! DNA by Hobi is so good too. Obviously demos are rough draft lyrics and don't always make sense but it's a guide as to the melodies and playing with lyrics. I love Epiphany and Jin's voice is magical. I cry EVERY SINGLE time!

Peachy you really need to react to Hobi’s DNA demo too because it’s everything! 🔥 I just wanted to add a bit of context because PROOF is such a meaningful release in BTS’s discography. Not every artist can put out an anthology album like this (it requires a long career with real hits, depth, years of evolution, and enough demos, hidden tracks, and unreleased material to tell a full story). It’s something usually reserved for true legends!! BTS has actually done this for years: they have hidden tracks that only exist on physical CDs, and PROOF’s CD3 continued that tradition by giving ARMY something incredibly intimate like demos, early versions, and songs that reveal their vulnerability and how involved they truly are in their music. It’s a gift that shows their growth from trainees to artists with a massive, meaningful archive! 💜 Proof’s structure is intentional: CD1 = history, CD2 = artistic growth, CD3 = gratitude and behind-the-scenes. “For Youth” closes that last disc because it represents BTS’s thanks to ARMY and the promise of their new chapter. A demo is basically a rough guide version of a song, often with imperfect grammar or improvised lyrics. Its purpose is to map out the melody, emotion, and vocal direction which is why Epiphany’s demo sounds different and is so special, because it shows Jin’s original ideas! When you get to react to the whole album, you’ll see which songs changed the most and which didn’t. It’s really fun! 😌 And Namjoon actually talked about this in a VLive when the “Love Yourself: Answer” album came out! He said Epiphany was the only song he didn’t participate in, and that Jin had worked so hard. He even said he was curious about Jin’s original version because Jin is always interested in composing. RM said: “He worked hard to make a melody for this song. Jin fixed his melody a few days before we finalized this song, but our producer worked with a composer and came up with a new melody. So it was changed. I’m curious about Jin’s original melody. When I first heard it [the final track] I texted Jin like, ‘This song is amazing!’ I liked it so much. This track is special […] because it’s the only song that talks about ‘結’, the conclusion.” I love how Namjoon praised the way Seokjin captured the “結 / conclusion” theme of the Love Yourself series. He also said the lyrics feel like the truth, admitting that even if we’re not perfect, we’re still beautiful and deserving of love. Namjoon said Jin was the only one who could deliver that message, and that’s why the song is so powerful in concerts. 😭💜 This demo version truly reflects Jin’s contribution to the song and how talented he is. I remember he received a lot of praise from Koreans and ARMY for this version and how much they loved it just as much as the final version because it’s so raw and sincere.

so the proof album's third disk is mostly all unreleased songs and demos, but they're ONLY on the physical album, not on streaming sites. Definitely recommend checking them out! They're in various levels of polished. Some, like epiphany, are different versions that were pitched by members but ultimately weren't selected. Some faves besides this one: Jhope's version of DNA (better than the actual version maybe, i'm obsessed), no vocals demo of seesaw (a whoooole vibe), RM's demo for Young Forever (feels like it could be on mono.... maybe cuz it makes me want to cry lol) (it was hard to narrow this down to three honestly, they're all great. and so cool to see what could have been, or how things evolved as they tweaked and cleaned stuff up)

Kait

genuinely believe this melody (particularly the chorus) + some sad violin and a steel guitar would make an incredible, heartaching, country ballad. Jin knows how to do YEARNING
