[Concept Design] The Ocean Queen - Turtle Island

I am working on my redraws of my first chapters in parallel and one of the major changes will be the location. While the events still take place at sea, the setting changed from a futuristic warship to a giant mechanic turtle which serves as holiday place with a luxury hotel.

There are many reasons why I made this decision. One of them was to convey a stronger impression for the prologue with a more interesting location. A more crucial reason was the setup for the general escalated situation after the monster invasion. Showing the overwhelming situation for the humans on the ship was a mandatory aspect I wanted to illustrate with the low defense measurements and the overall commotion. Still it felt odd that most of the staff and people aboard are not able to defend themselves properly despite the initial fact that everything took place on a warship. The defense standards should be higher than I have shown in the earlier chapters.

So yeah, captain Manati became a hotel manager now. I hope I can deliver some of the redrawn pages in the next days so I can also elaborate the minor changes of the content. However, I will keep most of the narrative parts and key events that are essential for the murder case story arc.
