Sometimes I regret that I reworked some of my illustrations because I improve the composition for the worse. It recently happened with my Boku no Hero Academia artwork of Dabi, one of the villains from the series. This is an early progress version of the illustration which can be also seen in my linked video.
The final and newer version is not entirely bad. However, looking at the old version I feel that the redrawn version lacks some dynamics and energy in comparison to the old pose. Apparently since the older version consists a bit more free space around the character the overall upright format in the newer version makes it look way more narrow in contrast.
