Good evening! You might have heard I'm retiring the page, but I'm still gonna finish these archives here so it isn't so hard to grab whatever you've missed.
This post contains links to complete archives of every map I've drawn and published here on Patreon throughout 2021. Although this is a publicly-accessible post, some of the links below are only accessible to current patrons, so please keep this in mind.<...

And I do mean it, since I never would've managed what I did here without you.
So, I'm going to be retiring the Patreon. The reasons are myriad, but the most simple and important is just that I've gotten some better opportunities that I'd really like to pursue. It tugs at my heartstrings a little - I sunk a lot of time and effort into this project - but it has served its purpose well. I sincerely thank all of you, especially those who've stuck around since the beginning.
So here's ...

As previously mentioned in the last few map's notes, I'm going to be taking December off for personal time. I'll be pausing the payment cycle so charges don't go out on December 31st.
That's about it. Thanks for your attention!

Good morning! I hope the burgers* amongst us had a good Thanksgiving. I'm writing this on Wednesday evening, but mine was probably nice.
This week's map, and the last for November, the underground theme, and also for the year**, is an underground grotto with a sinkhole pit in the center. The pit's got a bit of a depression on the north side that might be another cave entrance, but it also might just be a short p...

Good evening! This week's map is November's wildcard map and therefore not at all to do with the underground! It's a desert city, in fact. Probably goes well with the desert canyon variant I made for the Underground River Chasm.
This busy town center contains a street market, illicit opium den (or whatever your local equivalent drug is), a temple of indeterminate deity, a small bar/tavern, and a handful of small hovels. The streets may be a little tight for your average, combat, which i...

Good morning! Remember the Greek theme from the poll? I did. Here's a shot at a throne room for Hades/Pluto, our favorite god of the underworld. It was remarkably hard to find actual sources on his preferred decoration, so I just made something up.
The throne is huge. It ought to be occupied by someone of equal stature ... or perhaps it's just enchanted? Maybe whoever sits on it grows to match its apparent size. Wizard of Oz-type stuff. Roman temples were stuffed to the brim with everyt...

Good morning! I spent the last couple hours drawing crystal assets for the next map courtesy of a certain request, and I used the Underground River Cave as a prototype to see how they'd look on a real map. Then, since I had done half the work already, I went the extra mile and made some lighting, and exported a full set of new variants for it.
So this is a full new set of variants for the Und...

Edit: Also see the bonus Crystal Cave variants based on this map!
Good morning! The map theme poll for November came up as "underground" by a hair, so that's November's theme - and here's the first go at it! A cavern left by a former underground river that has either disappeared entirely or shrunk to a fraction of its size - or tunneled down into the earth to form a ravine! These kinds of cav...

Good morning! The final map for October - and the final "crime scenes" map - is a titanic aquatic chamber home to the Sea Crown, a wonderful treasure of immense value, and a sure target for theft. In fact, its value is only outweighed by the difficulty of bringing it home. Those crystals are huge...
Based on the inspiration for this map, included are a series of variants for flooding the place. The original concept was that removing the crystals slowly collapses the dungeon, but in prac...

It's the map theme poll for November! Rules are below.
Rules
- You may vote for as many map themes as you want. The one with the highest vote total come next Sunday will be the map theme for next month.
- Being the map theme means that three of the four maps I draw next month will revolve around the theme in some way (the fourth map's theme is something different/random that I pick).
- If there's a tie, I will default to patron-submitted suggestions**. If both ...

Good morning! This week is October's wildcard map - a shinto shrine based off of its namesake. In addition to the main shrine building, there's also a branch shrine, several hokora, a keystone, a pond for the local amphibians, and a garden for when donations aren't quite enough. A large courtyard provides plenty of room for violent confrontations and the forest and back-road provides convenient options for hasty escape, and the shed's large enough to hide at least a couple of people in the la...

Good morning! And for once, it actually is morning here, at least as I write this. This week's map is an execution - a crucifixion, specifically - atop a rocky hill. I don't need to tell you that this is probably one of if not the worst ways to die in a preindustrial society. Whoever did this had to have been really angry. And maybe they're still there; after all, Roman soldiers weren't allowed to leave until they were sure the criminal was dead.
Or maybe, it's just an...

Good morning! October's theme poll has turned out as "crime scenes", and what's a more classic set than a mansion? Theft, murder, insulting the baron - it almost writes itself. Having recently slipped back into a certain series, I had one obvious source of inspiration to draw from.
In addition to the main room, the map comes with flanking balconies and a smaller cozy sitting room with a fireplace and not one but two potential secret rooms for your use - both are hidden behind bookshelve...

In the October poll, I mentioned that since there's an extra week this month, I was planning on taking one of them off as usual, and that I hadn't decided when. Circumstances have conspired to decide for me, however, since I've fallen ill, so there won't be a map this week. Regular schedule will resume on October 9th; there will still be four maps in the month etc of course.
In the meantime, I have a preview of the map I was preparing before the fever happened, as well as two sketches I...

Good morning! This week's map is a garden based on those of Persia (and its regional successor states); designed for spiritual and leisurely relaxation and contemplation.
Unfortunately, this is a battlemap, so activities here are probably not going to be very relaxing. Perhaps the local satrap is set to have a bad day.

EDIT: Made a set of desert fortress variants without water. Archive with day/night versions are attached below and a preview is provided above!
Good morning! This is the second map for September, a map inspired loosely by the namesake walls surrounding parts of the historic Constantinople! These turned out a little more fortress-y than city walls-y, but that just means it's more flexible. The real walls had a bit of a curve to them too anyways.
I have also upgrade...

Good morning, and welcome to September! The winner of this month's poll was Byzantine Churches, Castles, et cetera; so this week, I drew a church inspired by Byzantine orthodox architecture and mosiacs.
The most obvious difference for those used to Catholic or Protestant-inspired churches would probably be the lack of pews. Traditional orthodox churches do not possess seating for services and attendees stand throughout instead. (In areas dominated by Protestant or Catholic tradition, ho...

Good morning! This week's map is the final for August, and also the final red-desert map. It's a rocky outcropping from a cliff, situated along what is ambiguously either a canyon's pit or a larger sandy area. I added some rocks along the bottom for framing/composition. Your call whether they're a canyon wall or just outlying rocks before the sea of dunes.
A full list of variants is in the splash image attached to this post. I'm not going to be putting description in the body text anymo...

Good morning! This week's map is based on the fifth option of the last poll - dilapidated and old farmland that has fallen into disuse. The paths lie unpopulated for now, but with scrub grasses creeping in, it's only a matter of time before this area is reclaimed by nature.
Variants

The plain wheat field map is, of course, attached to the top for free.
Technical Details
Mushrooms are objectively funny.
This week I decided to draw a canyon, and I also decided to put mushrooms in it. I'm not really sure why. They kinda stick in my head as a "martian" sort of plant. It's probably War of the World's fault, see. There's also an oasis with some ordinary-ish plants, because mushrooms need water or something.

Good morning! Last week's poll ended with Red Dune Deserts winning by about three votes, so that's August's theme - and this is the first map for August, a few days early. It's two overlapping eroded craters in a red sand desert! Isn't it picturesque?
Come to think of it, it might be a sinkhole or old volcanic basin too. I'll leave it as an exercise for the reader.

Good morning! Wrapping up the Lagoon Cities theme for the month, this week's map is based on Venice's Grand Canal. Terracotta rooftops and several access points to the canal should provide plenty of verticality, and the bridge provides a natural chokepoint. If you're in need of an interesting use for this map, I cite Skerples' breakdown of the War of the Fists:

Good morning! July's poll came up as Lagoon Cities ala Venice, so this week's a secretive garden hidden behind the buildings and away from the main streets. A canal runs through the middle of the area, providing water access and a place for a quick getaway - or for enemies to arrive at. There's a selection of alleyways that might be escape routes, but you can always declare that some of them have been blocked off if necessary, of course.

Good morning! Since this weekend is Independence Day, I decided to draw July's wildcard map early and do something patriotic, so marching in from Massachusetts, it's a 1:1 recreation of the Old North Bridge! This is a nearly exact duplicate of the (replica) bridge that stands where the original was, the day the first skirmish of the American Revolution occurred. There wasn't a statue there at that time, but, well, I took some liberties.
