If you've read Shielded Heart (The Infinite City 2) and Vengeful Heart (The Infinite City 3), you know that Arcanthus would do absolutely anything for his mate. So when Samantha wants to play at being a being a dominatrix, Arc is on board wholeheartedly, willing to do whatever his flower commands.

All through the Infinite City series, we've seen Samantha flourish and gain more confidence in herself after escaping an abusive relationship, and in our short story, Fervent Heart, she is embracing that confidence. She knows that she is safe with Arc, and Arcanthus in turn loves and trusts Samantha irrevocably.
