I can't thank you all enough for recommending and voting for this movie. My god, this was a masterpiece. I feel silly for not having watched it sooner. It was so powerful, with a lot of depth, amazing acting and a heart wrenching story.
Having recently watched Matt Damon in the Bourne Movies, and The Martian, I totally didn't expect him to play a character that was so rough and tough, but also vulnerable. This felt like a very different role for him, and he did an amazing job. Robin Williams was also so moving... we seriously need to watch more movies with him!!

A lot of good recommendations for Robin Williams movies in the comments, but he also had a big standup comedy career and I can recommend at the very least his Live on Broadway special (2002) and Weapons of Self Destruction (2009). Forewarning: he is *intense*.
