Your Most recommended War Movies: Poll
Added 2025-03-26 03:52:42 +0000 UTCEvening Folks!
Last week's poll winner was The Goonies! We've heard this movie is an absolute classic, so we're both very excited to watch it!
For this poll we were wanting to watch another war movie. We've got so many to catch up on, so what better time than the present! These 4 movies were the most recommended by you all on previous war movie polls, so we're really curious to see which one wins!
Comments
I was so hoping it would win, seems nobody reacts to it.

2025-03-26 23:18:40 +0000 UTCBecause none of it happens on the frontlines like say Hacksaw Ridge or FMJ or SPR. It is war adjacent because the events onscreen occur around the war but not within the war.

2025-03-26 20:50:41 +0000 UTCVery loosely based on true events. Just like every other Mel Gibson film. Still a solid flick though. Not in my top 5 war movies, but to each their own.

2025-03-26 17:09:44 +0000 UTCsad to see the Thin Red Line so low in the poll. Amazing movie, my favorite of the lot.

2025-03-26 14:51:39 +0000 UTCSchindlers list is a war film but not in the way you may think I HAVE NO IDEA WHY PEOPLE ARE SAYING ITS NOT A WAR FILM WHEN IT IS

2025-03-26 13:54:15 +0000 UTCI agree that Schindler's List isn't per se a war movie. I do hope you have the time to watch all of these films at some point. They all show the human cost of conflict, the dangers of unchecked power, the futility and inhumanity of battle, the effects of war on society, and the moral issues raised by war. They also show the brutal realities of combat, highlighting the physical and psychological toll on soldiers and civilians alike. The films are good reminders about the enduring power of the human spirit and the importance of empathy.

2025-03-26 11:41:58 +0000 UTCSchindler's List isn't a war movie. It's a war adjacent movie. For that reason I voted for Platoon but I assume Schindler's List will win.

2025-03-26 04:05:36 +0000 UTCI’m happy with anything that is not Apocalypse Now. Excellent film but it is so disturbing that I never want to watch it again. And I’ve seen every Game of Thrones episode about 10 times over.
