2024-10-03 08:50:39 +0000 UTCAs usual since I joined your Patreon, I'm starting your watch-alongs ~4-5 seasons behind where you currently are, but I'm excited to jump in and take the full journey with you (even if I'm a few steps behind for a while). I started watching "Breaking Bad" with my gf-at-the-time and her friends back when it first aired, but it wasn't a great experience; I loved the show and looked forward to each new episode, but they were the sort of people who would call an episode "boring" if things weren't blowing up, people weren't getting killed, and the "action" in the most recent episode was mainly emotional, story-driving, character arc type stuff. It was a real buzzkill to want to talk about how electric a scene was between Skyler and Walt because of how his secret life was impacting their relationship and how tense it was because everything was closing in around him, only to have my gf-at-the-time and her friends just shrug and say it was "boring" and that "nothing happened." I'd be like, "Are you kidding? SO MUCH happened!" That lack of depth, btw, is part of why she's now "my gf-at-the-time" and not "my gf". So, anyway, they lost interest in the show, I lost interest in getting together with them to watch tv shows, and we all ended up falling out of the series somewhere around the end of the 2nd or beginning of the 3rd season. Point being: I'm looking forward to diving into the show again and making the full run with people who will actually appreciate the storytelling, filmmaking, character growth, and drama... y'know, in *addition* to things blowing up and people getting killed.

(Somehow the colors also look really rich in this series, like Jesse's red car.) (Btw, the money actually was wet from the chemicals. But yeah, it's also a visual gag about "money laundering".)
