Video - Animation 2022: What to Expect

My dumb butt forgot to mention the upcoming Total Drama series and I'm sure I missed some other things. That being said, what are you all looking forward to most for 2022 in the world of animation?

"I don't care" is definitely a theme for this year lmao But I am excited for the Bob's movie and Hazbin Hotel

As I figured would be the case, it was fun hearing your thoughts about the numerous cartoons and movies coming our way this year (provided Omicron doesn't throw things off too much). I always enjoy finding out which cartoons you are most excited about, which ones you are cautiously optimistic about, which ones you are indifferent to, and which ones you are worried about. I, for one, think that we are all praying that the Mario movie ends up being decent-or even great-but with Illumination making the movie, and with Chris Pratt taking over for Charles Martinet as the voice of Mario, we all have reason to be nervous. Even with Nintendo's supervision, they could still mess it up. Hopefully when the trailer for it drops, we'll breathe a collective sigh of relief. Let's hope for the best for Mario's return to the big screen after a near three-decade hiatus. As for the other movies and cartoons, there are a lot that do sound and look promising. Turning Red and Lightyear look to be Pixar's next critical darlings (a bit unfortunate that the former will be skipping theatres...why can't Disney do both a theatrical release AND a Disney+ release for Pixar movies?!). Wendell and Wild looks neat from what little we've seen of it, and since Henry Selick is a master of stop motion animation, it should be a blast. The Bad Guys could be Dreamworks' best movie in some time, Tiny Toons will (hopefully) be another reboot done right, and Sonic 2 (and Knuckles) looks to be even better than its predecessor. Oh, and I'm calling it now...Across the Spider-Verse Part One will end up being the best non-Disney/Pixar movie of 2022. Other promising cartoons include Unicorn Warriors Eternal, Zootopia+, and the full-on Hazbin Hotel series. Some pretty solid stuff coming our way...heaven knows we could use it all in these difficult times. In addition to the Mario movie, other movies that might not-or likely won't-be all that great include Hotel Translyvania: Transformania (being released in January is a probable sign that it won't be so hot), the new Ice Age movie (Blue Sky Studios was done dirty when they were shut down last year, and yet Ice Age is still being milked for all it's worth and then some), and the Scoob sequel/special. Nonetheless, one can't argue that we have a variety of cartoons and movies to look forward to-or dread-for the next twelve months. It will be cool to hear your thoughts on as many of these as you want to/are able to get around to checking out either in Quick Vid form and/or on Twitter. Now let's hope that these cartoons can avoid development/release hell, shall we? Hope you're doing all right, Saber...see you around! =)
